smithersjohn -> 6+ hrs of playstation, 7 days per week (9/10/2007 4:38:37 PM)

Hey everyone! Please pray for christian gamers that are addicted to video games.

I know a few people, between the ages of 20 - 55 who play 6+ hours of playstation every day of the week. It's causing troubles in their family, jobs and spiritual life in general. They are christians, some are bible college educated. Please keep them in your prayers, they are good people.

High_Hopes -> RE: 6+ hrs of playstation, 7 days per week (9/10/2007 11:01:24 PM)

I used to race online Nascar Racing 2003 Season for 6 - 8 hours a day when i was in college. But i had no job so when I wasn't in school I usually did that. Now I have no time for it. but I do love to play Quake3 or Quake4 or Doom3 online. Those are my top 3 fav right now! ID rocks!!!

:)

They are still making Mario Party's. The newest one out is Mario Party 8 for the Wii.

Adam

figmentPez -> RE: Gamers (9/11/2007 3:22:40 PM)

Yes, I'm a gamer, and I really really want a new PC! My processor will be 6 years old this November. I can't play any of the recent games, and it's gotten to the point where my PC struggles with the latest video codecs, so I can't even view the trailers for new games (at least not the decent quality versions, and certainly not the HD footage.)

DreadPirateRandy -> RE: Gamers (9/11/2007 6:38:20 PM)

Every week, our youth pastor would host a Mario Party event for the leaders and older teenagers.

Ah, the memories.

haha, a bit yeah
one of my current favorites is Gears of War...until my 360 took a dump on me out here.
Now I'm playing Shadow of the Colossus on my friends PS2. I have to say, that game is a work of art.

Oh, and someone recently booted up our occasional Halo binges out ehre again. haha

^_^

fluffmonkey -> RE: Gamers (9/11/2007 7:19:58 PM)

*is waiting for starcraft 2*

FurGodWurLivin -> RE: Gamers (9/12/2007 8:10:42 AM)

Halo is a real classic in the FPS world. The Halo 3 release is going to be craaaaazy. Anybody know what the difference between the regular, Limited, and Legendary editions are off the top of their head? I have people asking about it at work and I haven't had time to look yet.

I kind of need to update my 3D card... if anybody has a hook up on an Nvidia GeForce (7000 or better) for a PCI bus, let me know. My processor is fast enough for most of the newer stuff (sans Rainbow Six: Vegas... who actually has a 3Ghz processor anyway?), so I'm not really worried about that one for a while. I've been on something of a Battle for Middle Earth craze recently, but I gotta love the James Bond games too... my roommate has me hooked on Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii, so I guess I'm a goner for sure...

fluffmonkey -> RE: Gamers (9/12/2007 12:10:27 PM)

standard - is just the game itself

Limited Edition -- Along with the game, this set includes one bonus disc that will have behind-the-scenes footage, a "Making of Halo 3" documentary, and apparantly an "audio-visual calibration tool" to help fans pick at their settings until they're just perfect for the game. It will also feature a Halo fiction and art book that will act as a guidebook to the Halo universe lore. All that extra stuff packed into a nice metal case

Legendary Edition -- So apparently this got changed from the four discs of content we were told it would originally contain, but thankfully it does still come packed into a giant Spartan helmet that no serious nerd collection can be without. Naturally the game and the bonus disc from the Limited Edition will be here, but there will also be a second bonus disc containing re-mastered cinematics from the first two Halo games and developer commentary to boot. Especially cool is the inclusion of exclusive content from both the guys who do Red vs. Blue and the guys who behind This Spartan Life. Oh, and a "day in the life at Bungie" featurette. Phew. But wait, that's not all! Those hardcore enough to purchase the Legendary Edition will also receive a collection of Halo 3 storyboard art that showcases some key cinematic scenes from the game.

Halo [:'(] My husband plays first-person shooters and I hate them.

Konstantinos -> RE: Gamers (9/12/2007 3:14:05 PM)

has he ever made you play?

I would sooo not play. The first time I ever saw the game of Halo I thought, "What is this horrible thing?" It looks too scary to me. I won't go out and shoot a real gun either.

Konstantinos -> RE: Gamers (9/12/2007 3:39:07 PM)

wow he really needs to get you to play then hahaha it would be too funny [:D]

FurGodWurLivin -> RE: Gamers (9/13/2007 9:23:04 AM)

heheh...... easy tigger. My favorite exposure to Halo was playing the opening level of the first single player campaign. Right when you grab the grenades. They have a couple of nice barriers set up and a coupld alien scum on the other side (the squeaky voice dudes). So I stand up quick, toss a grenade and duck back down behind the barrier....... tick, tick, BOOM! I then hear this little "aaaaaaaAAAAIIIIIEEEEE!" as a little alien dude comes flailing right over the top of the barrier with smoke and flames coming up behind him. It made me laugh for the next hour. For some reason I was thinking of a Monty Python sketch, even though the two were nothing similar.... maybe I just need help.

semperfidelis -> RE: Gamers (9/13/2007 9:41:23 PM)

hehe... halo... I remember playing the first PC demo -- those guys were hilarious! [:D]

Unfortunately, a friend told me Halo 3 has been leaked on the net. Hopefully this doesn't delay the game or cause M$ to do something stupid (like put encryption like on Bioshock which messes up a lot of peoples' computers).

Recently?
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1 (PC)
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (PC)
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (PS3 demo)
DiRT (PS3 demo)
Wii Sports
Wii Play
Transformers (Wii)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (PS3)

I'm looking forward to:
- Rayman's Raving Rabbid's (Wii)
- Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3)
- WarHawk (PS3)
- I'd like to get Lair or HAZE.

Every once and awhile I still play Warcraft 3 with friends. Wish a few more friends had computers that could run Splinter Cell 3 (or even 2!)

1love1God1way -> RE: Gamers (9/14/2007 2:45:00 AM)

I have recently re-discovered one of the most addicting games ever: Worms Armageddon.
