When you feel it would be best for yourself and everyone around to lock yourself alone in a room for a while, but it is just not possible? I take Premsyn, an over-the-counter product made by the same people who make Pamprin. It makes me feel a little sleepy, but it sure knocks my irritability out in about half an hour.

Gee ladies, I really need some prayer. This is the most painful period I have ever had in my life! I am going through a super tampon and pad every two hours, getting up all night long so I don't make a mess on the bed. I am so out of sorts I could just cry. I am depressed, want to scream, want to run, want to just hide. I have never been to this extreme.

Praying for you Kimmie! I got this e-mail from my sister-in-law today: Menopause Jewelry My husband, being unhappy with my mood swings, bought me a mood ring the other day so he would be able to monitor my moods. We've discovered that when I'm in a good mood, it turns green and when I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a big red mark on his forehead. Maybe next time he'll buy me a diamond...

Hello Ladies. I will be 30 in July, and am wondering if I'm already starting to feel the menopausal symptoms coming on. I posted in the Women's thread on 3-14 to ask what was going on...I eventually found out that it was a hot flash. I had another one yesterday...two in a month's time period. I don't know if that is a lot for my age or not... Anyway, I also was feeling very tired...that has gotten better, but not great. Also, I went grocery shopping the other day, and when I walked in, I felt so HOT. Not like the hot flash hot, like the building was steaming hot...but no one else seemed to think so...by the time I walked from the customer service desk to the electronics department, my shirt was WET with sweat. I did call my mom when the first hot flash happened. She started menopause around 35, and my grandmother at 36. So, I know that I'm APPROACHING their ages, but I'm five years younger than my mom when she started. I have been irritatable....but it's also approaching that time of the month. I have a small breakout on my face, even after using cleansing products consistently. I'm just not sure if I'm starting to go through the menopause or if something else is going on with me. I haven't been to the doctor...I had planned on going, but things have come up, and it didn't work out... So, I'm not sure when I CAN go. Anyway, any responses are welcomed. Also, I developed eczema about a year ago now...never had any skin problems like that before in my life...don't know if that's related or not... I am also noticing quite a bit of hair left in the tub drain when I finish washing my hair...or even a shower...I wonder how it falls out when nothing is touching it... I have been taking Tylenol a lot more regularly lately too, due to some headaches...

wow, that's so young! All I can suggest is to go to the dr. Other issues could be cause your symptoms too.

Yes, I agree with Kath, you should go to the doctor, because other things can cause hot flashes and other similar symptoms. I've been battling an ongoing case of eczema on and off for almost a year now too. That is more common during peri-menopause.

Ladies, I mean no disrespect here. I've known someone who hit menopause in her early 20's, but we have to be careful not to jump to conclusions about what we have ~ and I have said this in other threads about other health conditions too... I agree! That's why I think VisitorinWaiting needs to see her dr instead of jumping to conclusions. :)

I just found this thread! Women I can relate to. My hot flashes haven't been bad the past six months. My last period was in September, my only one since last march. I had my 'yearly' yesterday. My doctor ordered blood work because he suspects I have too much estrogen. Have any of you ever had this problem and could you tell a favorable difference after balancing it?

I understand what you are saying, and I don't think any of the ladies said, "YES, you are hitting menopause." All of the responses have been to see the doctor because it could or could not be. I don't think anyone jumped to any conclusions, and I appreciate what you have said, but beginning it with "I mean no disrespect here..." made it seem as if someone HAD done those things... Anyhow, I am just hanging back for a while. I should probably go to the doctor ASAP, but I don't have the financial ability to do that right now...so it'll just have to wait... *sigh* It would be nice to know that this eczema may be from age, and will hopefully go away afterward (?) IF it is related to that. Anyway.... I'll keep you all updated when I do get in to see a doc.

VisitorinWaiting, I hope you can get to the doctor soon. In the meantime, it wouldn't hurt to make sure you're eating right and taking a multivitamin, including calcium. Those things can really help a woman's health.

VisitorinWaiting ~ the part of my post which you've highlighted was not aimed at any one lady ~ it was a general observation. It may simply be that I'm reading and remembering comments about posts badly, but it seems that there are quite a few ladies who've come in and said they were peri-menopausal (self-diagnoses) when it could be something else entirely ~ which is why I said ladies should see their doctor. As for the 'no disrespect', my aim in saying that was so that no one thought I was saying they didn't have peri-menopause or belittling the symptoms that they did have. The symptoms can be horrific for some, while others sale through them. quote:

I know that I am blessed by the fact I could if I needed to see a doctor tomorrow and don't have to worry about the cost of visits or prescriptions (the blessings of the NHS).

I started on Wed, a day early. We leave for Jamaica tonight. That's ok, though, the way things have been the past few months, hopefully it will only be a 4-dayer and it will be done by Sunday!!
