I have a Myspace page... its hard not to have have one, but I wish Myspace would allow a Christian company integrate into their user database so I wouldn't have to look at those filthy ads! However all my favorite bands like Third Day, and old friends are there so I keep going back...

I just created one so that I can use my gifts to encourage, uplift, and strengthen others in all that they do. I don't have a whole lot on it right not. I don't know if I can post http://www.myspace.com/writingstudent. or not.

Uh-uh.

a small number of friends from the local community and a selection of Christian Indie artists. I know of very few on myspace within my vicinity, which kinda defeats the purpose.

Yes - almost have to these days. It is how I am able to keep up with some people across the country who are NOT involved here. Also, with my soccer involvement, it's a must.

I don't have a MySpace page, nor visit those ungodly websites. I do have a personal website and Jesus saved 'My Space' in heaven.

Not all of the spaces are ungodly! Most of the ones I visit are for Christian Artists I've worked with throughout the years.

If someone has something objectionable, then I just go right past it.

It IS a great way to get your message out - many of the ministries have them now.

Don't throw out the baby with the bath water. I didn't want to have one - but finally decided it WAS a way to put forth my testimony. I have a Phillips, Craig, and Dean song - Saved the Day - that plays when you open my page. Also, I'm VERY blatant about my Christianity. So, even those soccer folks know what I stand for, and if/when anyone has ANYTHING I don't like on their page, I block them.

I agree with that... Not all but most. It really isn't my cup of tea. I like forums and blog websites.

Actually it is no more ungodly than the magazines you see at checkouts or in places like Borders. Or what I hear when I go bowling or other entertainment venues. Or the content of most any movie out of Hollywood today. And yet we are out and about in the secular world everyday.

I think it is real important to have one if you are able(if it would not affect your weaknesses) and I have an example why. I have a video tract on my site. And a friend of a friend of my husband who had added me as a friend of his(my husbands friend), came across the tract and he said it was real helpful for him. I was able to witness to someone three states away. And I have created myspace groups for people in my area and they are able to see a daily verse and video tract and the truth project videos that I have there on my site on myspace. I get to promote different christian artists to people who I am guessing from their pages that don't often hear that kind of music. I also get to stay up to date with a missionary friend and his ministry. And I am glad to support Dawson McAllister who has a myspace with his radio show- because he is in the trenches with young people who really need someone. I really feel its important to be salt and light in myspace.

PS I wrote in a thread here about how I did not think it was a good idea for teens/young adults in general. In this post I am referring to adults.

I personally don't like the layout of myspace. I use 360. My daughter uses live journal.
