Hey Darcy!

I saw your thread in the sidebar, so thought I'd come by.

Apparently a lot has been happening in your life!

Hiya, Shar-Mar!

Yep, you could say that! I've moved to the campus of NC State, and I'm starting my junior year as of tomorrow! Wow, you never know how much you own, till you have to move it! Or give it away, like I did with a lot of my stuff.....

Yeah, like you don't know about THAT, huh?

LOL!

I was telling Karlie in her thread the other day that the next time I move, I'm going to box up my clothes, jewelry, CDs and art supplies . . . and the rest, I'm going to sell or donate.

My clothes and other stuff that I'm keeping I'll ship, probably, UPS; and then I'll just board a plane and fly to wherever I'm moving.

I'm absolutely serious about this, btw.

Have a great time at school tomorrow.

Girl, I like how you think! Maybe I'll have to do that in two years, when I start grad school!

Hey, I got rid of several hundred books, and 3/4 of my furniture!

But I think the rest of it may stay with me. Besides, the grad school I want is just down the road about 30 minutes.....

Sharmar, I wish we'd done it like that when we moved from Sydney to Brisbane. It would have been so much less stressful.

Kylie, last September, I moved across the United States; and, even though I didn't have much to move, it was a nightmare and caused me a lot of stress (mostly because of the movers).

And since I don't drive, moving the "traditional" way isn't exactly an option.

To me, stuff is just stuff . . . and the less of it I have, the better.

Seems like that they could have just put all that in one book.

Yeah, like maybe a pamphlet or something.

One book, huh? That sucker would take a backpack all by itself!

I'm just carrying three books today, I need to attend all my classes to see what I need to haul for the next few weeks. Actually, that's not too bad, the backpacking trip this summer might just come in handy.

A motorized wheelbarrow might come in handy too.

Just make sure you don't get all those blisters like you did last time backpacking.

So how was your first day of school?

Hey, all!

Cool day today, y'all! I went to all five of my classes, and I think I'm not going to drop any. I'm going to be writing and reading a lot, but three of the five classes call for a lot of discussion time....and have you ever seen me back down from a chance to TALK?

First is my math class, 8:30 in the morning. Taught by a grad student, but he seems to be a nice guy. I had to go pay almost $40 for a business calculator, hooray?

Then, it's Philosophy of Psychology. Professor seems to be an interesting guy, his specialty is cognitive science. Sometimes it's going to be a "huh?" class, since science is not my strong point, but I can do it. And the intro sounds like it's going to be pretty cool.

Third, History of Social Work in the US. It's supposed to be for Social Work majors, but only twelve of my classmates are in that program.....I'm thinking of switching, but let's see how this semester goes. And my instructor is working on her PhD in it, and seems to be a nice person. Says that I don't have to have the prerequisite, whew!

Fourth? Religion and Politics in 20th century America. It's going to get HOT in there....fascinating instructor, vocal classmates. It's a senior seminar, but my instructor has no problem with me being a part of it.

Finally, Western Literature 1. I'm going to be reading Homer, Virgil, and Dante. I've read "Inferno" several times in my life, starting when I was eleven, so I think I just may have fun doing this one!

It took a while to get home, but that's okay. I'm happy, even though I'm going to have to work hard this semester. It's going to be FUN!

Me slept last night and then woke up at 11:30. Then went back to sleep and hunger woke me up again at 5AM instead!

Glad things went so well, Darcy.

How are you going to fit everything in, and the cleaning as well?
