Ellie-Mae -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (12/4/2007 9:53:01 PM)

There was an opening in conversation with my mom, and Russ and I were able to talk to her about our concerns. She took it very well. God was really working. I don't think that she felt that she was attacked at all but that we really lover her and want the best for her. We should have enough time to see how things are going before we have to decide about this weekend. I was really surprised that she didn't try to steer the conversation away from the issues. thanks for the prayers.

What is it with the pets lately?? I will add Mr. Rogers to my list.

Donna just called me from the ER. Brian was playing tennis on the Wii and accidentally hit a deer that was on the wall. It fell down on his foot. It may be broken... as it is, he will not be going to work tomorrow.

the last thing that Donna said before we lost our phone connection was, "I just wanted to chat tonight!"

My husband's apartment was broken into and robbed either Sat night or Sunday morning.

Jennifer called me from the emergency clinic. She was in terrible pain. The staff thinks she may have a kidney stone. I was in the middle of an extremely difficult moment with one of my children when she called and she was crying and I was feeling terrible for her, but didn't catch everything she said, but I think they are going to send her for more testing. She had taken a pain pill, but it hadn't kicked in yet. Her mother was helping with the boys and was going to take care of dinner and so forth.

Please pray that her pain will be eased, that she will have peace, that whatever is wrong with her will become clear and she will be treated effectively and immediately.

Thank you for posting, Cynthia.

I took a vicodin at three but it is wearing off. I don't know if they miscalculated the dosage or what.

I will need further testing if the antibiotics and vicodin don't do the trick. Like an MRI or CT scan.

i have just received news that my Uncle just had a stroke. He is now on meds to make it stop. He has already experienced some memory loss.

W.O.F. -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (12/22/2007 11:52:03 AM)

Please pray for me.....again.

My kidney is acting up again. I don't have the time or patience or the money for this right now.

I'm not ready to share all the details in an email with those of you that get them but I'm having a hard time today emotionally for several reasons. Actually it was pretty good till about 4:30.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (12/23/2007 8:39:49 AM)

Please pray for DD2. Her headaches are mostly better. However, she always seems to get one as church starts and needs to go out and lay down for it to go away. I can't help think this is Satan trying to keep her out of church. Please pray that she can stay in the service today.

Homegrownkids -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (12/27/2007 3:52:07 PM)

Please remember us in prayer for tomorrow when I meet some relatives and "future" relatives of mine. If you look in the Relationships thread, you will have a better understanding of what I am talking about.
Thank you!!

For those of you who don't know, my grandmother had breast cancer about 4 1/2 years ago. It came back in her hip and has now traveled to the outside of her lung. Right between the lung and rib cage.
The cancer has been diagnosed as stage 4.. From what I understand it is terminal. She is having a really rough time of it right now and could really use prayer.
Also the family will be getting together to decide what needs to be done as the cancer progresses. The meeting will be later this week. Please pray for God to guide us in our decisions.
Thanks

It is getting downright painful, when people ask me about DB and DG. I feel like I have been shot through some times. I need closure on this, and yet I am starting to fear it as well.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (1/25/2008 5:39:38 PM)

Please remember my brohter. He is going to the hospital with a high heart rate and low blood pressure. This is the brother who is dealing with kidney failure. He went in for dialysis and his heart was "off" so they sent him to the hospital. If he doesn't come home tomorrow my parents will go out. These are the same symptoms that sent him to the hospital almost 5 years ago when he almost died. He has been relatively healthy for the last 4 years+.

Brief refresher of his history:
Kidney failure symptoms about 91-92
Kidney failure diagnosed about 93
Married in 97
Kidney transplant in 98 or 99
Kidney transplant failed and eventually rejected and removed around 2000
Hodgkins diagnosed around Mothers Day of 2001 (I think)
Goes into remission
Son born 7/2003 (adopted: they had custody from 3 days old)
Shortly after started having heart problems because oncologist gave medicines he shouldn't have with kidney failure.
Came home Thanksgiving week 2003 and been basically healthy since.
Have since had 2 biological daughters even though they had been told he couldn't father a child and his wife couldn't carry to term.

Well, my brother came home from the hospital at about 3 AM. I called my parents at 8:35 and my dad was just waking up: not like them at all. Dad hadn't slept well. Anyway, they did his dialysis at the hospital and his heart settled down. He will always have to watch his heart because of the radiation he had.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/5/2008 8:19:57 PM)

My mother got a somewhat upsetting email from my SIL. My brother mentioned in the above email is not doing well. He seems very depressed and not interested in doing ANYTHING. Even their kids (who are 4, 2, and 6 months (OK maybe not her)) have noticed.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/6/2008 12:52:34 PM)

I start my tutoring today. I'm a LITTLE nervous. Shouldn't be a problem but as with any new thing it's a little nerve-wrecking. I also have the after school program by myself today...well with the teen helper. It will be a big crowd today too. Probably as big as it will ever by. However, 7 of the 9 kids are 3 sibling sets(or something like that). One set can be trouble though. One set is real good and the kids of the K teacher. Tomorrow I will bring my kids to the extended care.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/6/2008 9:11:36 PM)

Tutoring and after school care went well. Do both again tomorrow. My high school student helper was sick for after school care. My kids are coming tomorrow.

My brother is in the hospital. He was having some pretty bad heart trouble. My parents are going out tomorrow afternoon to be with him and then back on the weekend. It's about 2-2.5 hrs away. He is in critical care.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/7/2008 6:08:41 PM)

Things are not looking well for my brother. He has high pressure in his lungs which is putting pressure on his heart. He has a couple valves that are not closing all the way. Surgery to replace them would be very risky because of his lung issue. This is mostly a side effect of the chemo and other treatments from his cancer. He was like this 4.5 years ago and when they went to do surgery it had corrected himself. There were people praying all over the world for him then. In fact, kids at colleges would hear about him from more than one source: 2 different friends from 2 different states would have heard it from their paretns, etc. THey are doing tests and hoping to stablalize him and once he is stabalized he would be able to go home and get treatment there. His wife hasn't worked in almost 5 years other than home day care and is still dealing with complications of her c-section and tubal ligation.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/8/2008 2:18:12 PM)

Got an email from my SIL. Bro is still in the hospital. His color is looking better because he's been on Oxygen. SIL thinks they will probably do the valve replacement surgery but they have to get him stabilized and build up some strength first.

The kiddos are having a hard time without their daddy at home.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/10/2008 2:23:32 PM)

Talked to my mom last night and my dad just now. My brother is doing a lot of sleeping. They are just sitting in his room watching him sleep. When he wakes up he is real groggy. Some of his levels are doing better. They will do a heart catheterization tomorrow to help determine whether they can do the valve replacement that he needs. They do plan on sending him home on Tuesday if he is stable and treating him s an outpatient. They could not do a full dialysis on Fri or Sat when they tried because his BP went too low.

I have his information going out to my church's prayer chain and the church wehre the kids go to AWANA.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/11/2008 7:55:20 PM)

Just talked to my mom. There was too much damage to my brother's heart to do the valve replacement. Several doctors have to get together to figure out how to treat him now. They may send him to another hospital in Philadelphia (just across the Delaware River from where he is now: they live 5 mins from the bridge) that specializes in this and get more tests/opinoins. Not sure when he will come home. If he isn't home tomorrow I think my parents may make another trip.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/15/2008 1:09:33 PM)

My brother did not have a good night. THey didn't send him home any oxygen and he had trouble breathing last night. He has dialysis today and they are hoping the nurses there will send him back to the hospital

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/16/2008 11:07:42 AM)

Chad's doing better last night and today. He slept well last night and sounded good on the phone to my parents this AM. They are going out today to see him and will be back tonight. They will be here to watch the kids tomorrow like planned.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/17/2008 9:36:40 PM)

My mom just got a call from my sister in law. My brother collapsed and started convulsing so she called 911 and they took him to the hospital. She will go as soon as her parents arrive to stay with the kids. My parents are on their way out now. They should get there about midnight. We don't know any more than that. No school tomorrow for mom so that will be a help.

zoebob -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (2/18/2008 10:22:51 AM)

Well, my brother seems to be oK. The only thing that they could figure out was that he was dehydrated which is hard to imagine for a dialysis patient who always has fluid built up, especially over the weekend because it's his long time between treatments.

They gave him 2 IV's and he is in dialysis now but they think he will be able to come home this afternoon.
