Please pray for my daughter Sam. She has a personality/ideology conflict with her CORE teacher- the only teacher she will have four days a week, all year long.

I am afraid I am not much help to her in this situation at all. The Lord needs to give her divine guidance, joy and love to endure and triumph in this class. Thank you for joining your prayers with mine.

I would like prayer for my dh. I"m worried about him. I don't want to go into details on a public forum, but he needs a LOT of prayer. Specifically for healing, encouragement, a christian friend, uplifting. Prayer for our whole family. I would like to continue to homeschool, but there are times when I feel like I need to step up and help out with financial income. This is hard on me when I do this because of Dh.

Please pray for dd2 and ds.

DD2 has been sick with a sore throat, cough, fever, just plain feeling yucky since THursday AM. Today her fever is gone at least. She hasn't had any tylenol/advil since about 8 last night. This Sunday is our church picnic and I really want us to be able to go. My parents will be away tonight but should be home by the time of the picnic to watch her at least. However, I'd like her to be able to go and for us to be able to go to church.

DS has impetigo on his nose. He's been on antibiotics since about noon yesterday. Pray that clears up quickly too.

I got the following email from the school email system. Dr T. is our headmaster who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this summer.

quote:

Mrs. T called and said Dr. T is not doing well. Please pray that he can eat something and keep it down and also that the pain will subside. He is very weak and tired.

Serious unspoken here.

My SIL found a lump in her breast. They say it is Stage 0. Which I take is good news! She will be having more tests this week (tomorrow-Wed-I think). She will probably have a lumpectomy, but because of the position of the lump may lose her nipple. This is my brother & SIL who don't have kids & aren't Christians. I'm praying not only for her health but for them to see God in all of this!

W.O.F. -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (9/23/2008 7:50:05 PM)

Please pray for my Uncle Carl....he was taken to the hospital today with an aortic rupture on the top part of his heart as well as an aneurysm in the lower half of his heart. They have done one procedure on him...but it does not look good. He is not saved, and my aunt says he has not wanted to even hear her talk about the Lord in the past few years....please pray FIRST for his salvation..and second for God's healing touch.

My unemployment claim for last week is being denied. I can't go into the 'why' here, but suffice it to say it's dumb. Anyway, they aren't paying me, and they may not pay me until further notice, and if they don't like my explanation for last week, they may want to dig through every other week I have been on unemployment all year long.

I have filled out their three-page form, written a letter of explanation, and attached supporting documentation. Please pray this goes well for me, and that it is quickly resolved. Please! I am mailing it all today.

ezri -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (9/26/2008 6:35:27 PM)

My folks are here visiting as part of their support bean & the kids with Jerry gone gig. They planned to stay til monday but momma saw that Poppa's big toe was swollen.

Dad is an insulin dependent diabetic. He has Neuropathy involving both feet and little of no feeling in his toes at all. Seems Dad had an ankle type sock crammed into the toe of his shoe for a few days and did not realize it AT ALL. He has shoved his foot in the shoe and worn it and walked in it for a couple of days and his big toe is swollen and the nail bed is purple and cuticle is raised and red. Good capillary response though so there is still goo blood flow. He also has blisters on 3 of the remaining 4 toes from the rubbing of the sock on the cramped toes.

Mom freaked and wanted to take him to the ER- Dad flat out said no. I came to the rescue with a half way- Call the normal doc back home have him call in the antibiotics and then head home in the early AM and go straight to the ER at the VA they normally use. I figure they are gonna take his toenail. he is so NOT going to want to have to endure the 5 hour ride in the car with such a wound.

The normal doc called in the antibiotics... They leave in the morning. Please pray for fast healing and no infection. Daddy watched an uncle slowly lose an entire leg and then his life to the same thing. just before he took his turn for the worse his wife(aunt) who was also diabetic started the same cycle. He is already on meds for depression and really not doing well emotionally and then add to that My husband going to Iraq into a war my dad doesn't agree with and it is just so not good.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Please pray for a marriage intensive seminar in Florida this weekend. A couple very prominent in the home school community of my little part of the world is attending. Also the couple leading the seminar recently lost a child, so pray for everyone involved that God will meet them in a special way and honor their desire to serve Him.

W.O.F. -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (9/27/2008 10:06:55 AM)

Praise: My uncle made it through the quadruple bypass and valve repair procedure. They are leaving him "open" in the event that they need to go back in and in case he is stable enough that they can repair the aortic aneurysm....but it looks like they are going to wait about 1 month to do that repair.

Please continue to pray for him:

1) to GET SAVED is the most important thing
2) Physical healing

THANK YOU!

P.S. Please pray for a gentleman from our church named Philip...he suffered a major brain hemorrhage yesterday....he is in ICU. My oldest daughter Angelface works for his wife, and his son and daughter-in-law are friends of ours. They are a homeschooling family also.

shadowspring -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (9/29/2008 10:53:29 PM)

Please pray for my son Solomon. Years ago I took him to the dermatologist about a spot on his ear. He took a picture and said it was not an issue, just watch it.

Well, I noticed this week it is cratered. He has an appointment with another dermatologist this Wednesday at 9:00 am. We live in a different state now, but they can ask for the old pictures/records if they need them.

Homegrownkids -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (9/30/2008 11:03:35 AM)

I need immediate prayer for my brother, his name is Kevin. Last year, I mention in CW that he had a girl friend from the Phillipines. There were some issues that had red flags up. Now, today, our prayers are being answered, and at the same time, he needs much prayer. Let's just say that the FBI is involved now. He needs specific prayer for protection, wisdom, and that the truth will be well known to him and he will turn his ways.

shadowspring -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (10/1/2008 4:49:55 PM)

Solomon is fine. Sam is doing well at college. She has Young Life tonight. Thank you for your prayers.

W.O.F. -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (10/5/2008 8:14:16 PM)

Please be praying for my brother Daniel U. He suffered an aneurysm today and has another one bulging in his brain. He was flown by medic air to a larger city to be treated. They plan on doing a CAT scan at 1:00 am mountain time to see exactly where the bleed is as well as the one ready to blow. They will try to do a procedure to stop the second one from going. We are not sure of the damage at this time, he is unconscious and they are keeping him completely sedated at this time to prevent strain on the second one.

He also has lungs full of fluid due to some heart/lung issues.

Please pray that God's will be done....and that my mom and his wife will have the strength and peace they need.

I live 2000 miles away from them.

W.O.F. -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (10/6/2008 8:33:21 PM)

Please continue to pray for my brother Daniel. I talked with my mom today...he is awake and lucid and is able to speak for short periods of time. He can't talk for long because he is on a breathing apparatus that has to be removed to speak and his blood oxygen levels plummet if he is off it for more than 3 minutes. He has a bleeding vessel in his brain but they cannot do anything about it at this time due to the fluid in his lungs. They are trying to drain them via tubes and medication, but they have had to lay off of some of the medications as his kidneys are now failing. They are trying to get all his systems up and going (no pun intended...) so that they can potentially go and "seal" the bleeder Thursday. The fact that he is able to speak and be awake for short periods of time is a good sign.

Thank you for all your prayers so far...the best place for him to be is in God's Hands!

W.O.F. -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (10/7/2008 10:25:51 PM)

THANK you all for your prayers...I just got off the phone with my mom. My brother's kidneys are back to full function and his breathing is better. He is no longer on a breathing apparatus...he is only on oxygen. They are starting him on medication tomorrow to reduce the swelling in his brain so that he can absorb the blood from the bleed and so they can tell what they need to do, if anything, to repair it. He also had a severe schizophrenic episode last night (he is a schizophrenic with paranoid tendencies on top of everything else.)...but that was due to the aneurysm itself as well as being off his medications for almost 2 days.

Praise the Lord for His Mercies.

Would you all pray for Seth today? He has to do an exercise where he gets thrown into a pool with all his gear on. The problem is, he is lousy at holding his breath and treading water. He called me last night to tell me "Goodbye" because he is going to drown today.[8|]

The good news is that the company commander asked him to be his driver, so I don't think they are going to let him drown, but I'd like to ask you all to pray that he gets through this OK. And while you're at it, pray for me. I am deathly afraid of water, and every time I think of him at the bottom of a pool with 40 lbs of gear on, I just about throw up. I get sick just watching The River Wild and The Abyss. Until I hear his voice again today, I am going to be a mess, I just know it.

Sunnymom -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (10/15/2008 2:04:05 PM)

Seth just called- he said that he is full of chlorine water, but he got through the test OK.

Now he has to go stand in line to get a flu shot. Oh, the joys of military life.[8D] But at least I can stop hyperventilating.

There is a homeschool family in our area that we know. Their son is in Cub Scouts with our son. My husband shared a tent with the father, Andy, during Cub Scout camp this summer. Yesterday Andy was killed in a head on collision. A car hit him going the wrong way on the freeway. They have three young children and a young couple. Please pray that the Lord would bring comfort and help to Kim and her three children during this horrible time.

shadowspring -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (10/30/2008 9:36:05 AM)

Okay I am embarrassed to ask for prayer but it is what it is. Sam, my daughter, has secretly renewed her relationship with Michael, who is NOT living for the Lord. This relationship is pornographic in nature.[:(] She turns 18 in three weeks. I think we should cut her off and let her go live the life she appears to have chosen. My husband does not want to do anything to "push her away". So pray for us to find the consensus of wisdom.

The saddest part is that we were so proud of her, and she has been faithfully attending worship services at college and with us. Somehow she has become an excellent deceiver and has no trouble with her conscience living a double life.

My husband hasn't slept for two days. Since he told me last night, I haven't slept either, so pray for peace for us. We have done nothing wrong. We should not be robbed of sleep.

My brother is moving out and is sort of in between places right now. He is currently staying at a home of some one who is a youth leader in a church but is not a healthy influence or role model. He had an accident yesterday that he was ticketed for (no one was hurt). He has been stopped many times for violations. The police are looking for him, and I am not sure why, but he told them that he could be reached at our house... but he can't really because he is rarely here. I think that he is spiralling. Please pray that he starts taking responsibility for himself. Please pray for me as this is really stressing me out and taking its toll on me physically. Please pray for my mom that she will see the reality of what is happening and be able to make good decisions.

cynthia -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (11/6/2008 10:39:46 AM)

Dh applied for two jobs. They are in different cities that are close to each other, but they are in different states. We do not want to move out of our state. Job #1 is in the place we don't want. However, job #2 opened about a month after the job #1 and they are not ready to interview for job #2 yet.

Dh has an interview with #1 today. He will stop and see the hiring manager for #2 to let her know what's up, since she showed a lot of interest in him applying.

Please pray that the interview will go well and that job #2 will be able to move things along so they can consider and interview dh for that job. Frankly, we want very much for dh to get job #2.

These jobs are very similar to each other and have the same pay scale, but there are considerations with job #1 that would make it more expensive for him to have that job.

#1 My honey leaves for his Mission trip(you all know which one I mean right) on Sunday morning.

#2 I used to sprain my ankle very often, even on the 100% flat surfaces in shopping centers... then I went to the Podiatrist and got those hard plastic orthotic inserts and WOW what a difference! I have had NOT Sprained my ankle in over 2 years!!!

note past tense. [&o]

It was not my foot/ankles fault this time. I got out of the van in the driveway(it slopes down) and did not see this big red lid- it was like 1.5 inches across and the same depth as a soda pop bottle lid. I stepped on the lid and BAM- Ouch! Thing is I turnedd it to the outside instead of the inside so it is hurting even up to my knee(Think I may have twisted that a bit too before I caught myself on the van doorframe)

I am an old pro at this kinda thing so no trip to the ER- a trip to bed and 2 mega cold packs + some motrin. I can "walk" on it with my cane and I have 3 braces of varying degree of support. I am thinking brace #2 for a few days then to brace #1...

*Sigh* and my honey is home til Sunday.

shadowspring -> RE: Home Education Folder Prayer Thread (11/7/2008 11:42:55 AM)

Update: two days after I posted the prayer request Micheal dumped my daughter. Though this is not the same as the deep heartfelt repentance we are all praying for, it is a positive development in my daughter's future.

It is her heart that really matters though. She is spending a lot of time with her family and appears to be cooperating with all we ask of her. But I am praying for her to fall madly in love with Jesus again, as she loved Him when she was younger.
