I am sorry I am so late catching up on these threads and prayer requests. I will pray for each of them. Note to Daryl. Ed Enoch calling you might have been a God thing in the first place. Do the audition and see what turns out. God will let you know if it's right or not. I will be praying for you.

This is a rather strange request. Some of you may remember that I requested prayer for a job a few months back and that I got it. I am now working as a police dispatcher. I love this job, but something else may now be in the works. It has been suggested by some of the police officers I work with that I apply for one of the vacant police officer positions within our department. At first I thought that my age (I'll be 45 on Wednesday) would disqualify me but I found out tonight that the age limit for attending the police academy is 52, so that isn't a problem. The problem is that if I decide to do this I would have to give up my dispatcher position, which would be filled by someone else. Then, if I washed out of the academy, I would be out of a job completely. I would love to be a police officer. I want to do this but I also want to be certain that this is the way God wants me to go. Please pray for the Lord's guidance as I ponder this decision.

Please remember the family of Rev. Forrest Polluck, pastor of Bell Shoals Baptist Church in Brandon, Fl. Rev. Polluck and his 13 year old son, Preston, died in a plane crash Monday near Ashville, N. C. The church was scheduled to dedicate their new 3,400 seat worship in just a few weeks. Rev. Polluck had been a pilot for 13 years. This info was from the Tampa, Fl. Tribune.

Oh, Santa, that is so sad. I used to live in Brandon. I know where that church is (the old one, anyway) -- I haven't been down "home" for a few years so haven't seen the new one. The folks there are good people! My headache has eased and it did keep me up most of last night.

UPDATE: Received the following E-mail from Marge and Mel (Chiefie) Klaudt: Prayer Partners, Your prayers are being answered. This past Wednesday Melody had her double chemo for her back cancer and her liver cancer. Then on Thursday she had a pet scan. In March her tumor markers were 109. In April her tumor markers were 58. She got her report today and her tumor markers were 43.47. Normal is 35-45 so Melody's Tumor markers are in the normal range. Needless to say the doctors and her parents were ecstatic. Marge and I were shouting with Joy. Her blood counts continue to be stable. She feels and looks great. Just keep praying. Her brother Michael Klaudt has a prayer group praying in Virginia. There is a college in Oklahoma where the students are praying. Churches and prayer groups across the nation are praying. Close fiends of the Klaudts are praying. Many people we have never net and in foreigh countries are praying and God is hearing. Thank you so much for your prayers, and burden for our family. Marge and Mel Klaudt

Pollock was formerly pastor at "The Exciting" Istrouma Baptist here in Baton Rouge, so a lot of people here are very upset about his untimely demise, as well as that of his young son. My impression of Rev. Pollock was that he was a dynamic speaker with a very passionate and outgoing personality. I am told that he was a highly successful businessman, who made his fortune young, then was called to ministry. He loved to fly and owned his own plane. A friend of his family says he had 6 children, the eldest of which died with him. A real tragedy. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Please pray for a missionary family that has been serving in Guyana, South America. He has been there 6 years and in that time has been able to establish churches in 7 villages, he preaches in many of them each week but a few have been taken over by national pastors. Travelling from village to village includes long rides up and down the river as well as long walks through the jungle areas. He had to be flown home a couple of weeks ago with symptoms that mirrored a heart attack. Thankfully it was not his heart but it was a case of sheer exhaustion. He has been ordered to stay here in the states for several months and REST. Please pray for he and his family as they go through this time. Pray for the work he has established that God will bless and protect the work that has begun. Pray for our church as we are providing them a place to stay until he is able to go back that we would be an encouragement and blessing to each member of the family Pray that God will provide his needs and the needs of the churches there, there is a young couple that was planning to go down and help he and his family for several months - they are still making plans to go but this has to be scary now with the veteran missionary not there for leadership and guidance. This missionary isn't from around here so pray for his family here in the states, I know they would like for them to be closer during this time but God's plans aren't always ours. Thank you for taking the time to read and pray for this request and numerous others since I've been here on the boards. Pray is our greatest weapon and our strongest comfort!

I'm praying for your missionary friend and his family, DeeAnn. What a testimony that he would feel so lead that he works himself into exhaustion.

We need to remember all of those that will be traveling to Nashville this weekend for Ms Dotties funeral. Some of our poster have already left and others will be traveling over the weekend. Also remember the family during this time of loss.

Please pray for my little girl. We found two lumps on the back of her head on Thursday. The lumps appeared to have small scratches on them, so we figured she had bumped her head. I forgot about the lumps until tonight when I was reading a story to her. She had her head on my lap, and I was rubbing her head and I felt the lumps. I got a flashlight out and looked closely at the lumps. The red marks were blood vessels, not scratches, so I panicked. We called the doctor and he wants to see her on Monday. He said it is probably just swollen lymph nodes, and not to worry, but that is impossible for me. I'm a natural worry wart! So, I have spent the better part of an hour crying and worrying. Please pray that this is something simple, and easily taken care of.
