Has someone here seen or heard of the promotion(s) Ring of Honor? Maybe Pro Wrestling Guerrilla? If so, I have inventory that may spark some interest. Heard of them but I have no interest in the DVDs (I did get the Joe/Kobashi DVD as a Christmas gift) ROH is a good concept executed quite well. I hope they grow but losing the use of TNA's wrestlers will hurt them short term. Long term could go either way. Try Ebay but if they can be bought elsewhere you are going to lose money on the deal. You would be fortunate to get half of what you paid I think. Why buy used when you can get new unless its a good deal? On the other hand if you have DVDs no longer in print you might be able to do very well for yourself. You may want to look up your DVDs on the 'net and see what they go for and which ones are in print / readily available. You may also have an FYE or other type store that buys used DVDs. May be more conveinent than Ebay but you wont get much. It'll be better than nothing though if it comes to that.

Dead Wrestler's Doctor Faces Charges By HARRY R. WEBER,AP Posted: 2007-07-02 20:25:25 Filed Under: Nation, Sports News ATLANTA (July 2) - Pro wrestler Chris Benoit's personal physician, who faces federal charges for improperly dispensing painkillers and other drugs to patients, prescribed a 10-month supply of anabolic steroids to Benoit every three-to-four weeks between May 2006 and May 2007, according to an affidavit made public Monday. The Drug Enforcement Administration search warrant affidavit says that in a DEA investigation of a company called of RX Weight Loss, Benoit was identified as an excessive purchaser of injectable steroids, a controlled substance. The affidavit also said Dr. Phil Astin was identified as the supplier of various controlled substances, including injectable anabolic steroids that were found in Benoit's home. A seven-count indictment, unveiled Monday, said Astin dispensed drugs including Percocet, Xanax, Lorcet and Vicoprofen between April 2004 and September 2005. The recipients were identified in the indictment by the initials O.G. and M.J. Benoit's initials were not listed. rest of story on AOL NEWS

Here's a link to an interesting indictment of the whole WWE monopoly on sports entertainment--especially with Chris Benoit's tragedy... http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/06/30/america/NA-GEN-US-Wrestlings-Shame.php?page=1

Read the article. The writer compromised his / her integrity by putting wrestling down as cult like and "as nothing more than comic books come to life". Comic books are not the kid's stuff that some think they are (and I'm not a big fan but it is an art form) and pro wrestling has the potential to be a great medium for storytelling. I do admit that pro wrestling has seldom fulfilled that potential but it certainly isn't the garbage the elitist snobs make it out to be. There were some good points in the article but they all went for naught when the author surrendered all authority and integrity in the first paragraph by outing him/her self as believing wrestling is immature and beneath him/her.

But since there is little value in such a goal there is little value in the writer's final product. Its not like there was anything there that hasn't been brought up multiple times already. Don't get me wrong, if WWE has done stuff to endanger their athletes then something needs to be done about it. I'm certainly not saying that since I enjoyed wrestling the WWE has done nothing wrong. What I am saying is that how can we trust what these reporters/analysts say (including this reporter but many others) when they obviously have such disdain for the industry they are reporting on.

Well, if we are all done ringing the death knell bell on WWE, anyone watch RAW last night? HHH is coming back soon! I can't wait. I loved the Kennedy bit also. I'm not usually a fan of Super Crazy, but that was just too much last night. Also, Lashley v. Cena, will be an AWESOME match. This should be an interesting build-up. Anyone with half a brain knew that Umaga was going to get the title back last night. So, who do you think is going to be a good challenger for the IC belt now? I think Santino had his moment in the sun. I'd like to see maybe Kennedy and Umaga go at it. That might be a pretty good match.

That would be a good match. Miisterrrrrrr Kennedy.................. Kennedy ( ) and UUUUUUUUmaga (can you tell I like them?) in a match would be a very entertaining match. I don't see Kennedy picking up Umaga as easy as he has other competitors. Nice contrast, Kennedy wouldn't know what to make of the beast. Who plays the face in this one? Umaga as the disrespected savage or Kennedy as the comedic guy in a very bad situation. This would be good. quote:

Smackdown needs some big stars and HHH & HBK need time apart (to hype their reunion later of course). Dont want these two to get stale with each other.

Well, they have Undertaker and Kane. I could only see sending HBK there, if one of those two behemoths came to RAW. Although something in the back of my head keeps saying that we will probably witness a feud between HBK and HHH when they both return. That's just WWE's style. quote:

This would be good. Despite his attitude as of late, Kennedy has grown on me. I hated him at first, but after winning the eight man ladder match, well he won my respect. And I felt terrible for him for what Edge pulled. So I would probably go with Kennedy on that one. I have a bit of trouble taking Umaga seriously knowing that he was Jamal a couple years back. (or whatever his name was-something similar to that). And what happened to his handler? Armando Allllleeeejandro Estrada? Is he gone for good? quote:
I can't either. HHH is always good to watch, whether he's a heel or not. I can't say I ever disliked HHH. It's going to be off the hook when he returns. Orton better start watching out now.

Yeah I know, they do so well together as partners and opponents that its too tempting to put them together. But keeping them apart for awhile just makes it that much better when they do get back together (whether as allies or enemies). quote:
I have a bit of trouble taking Umaga seriously knowing that he was Jamal a couple years back. I was hoping Jamal would come back as a business like Samoan Yakuza. Civilized outside the ring (with suits) but savage inside it. The old school savage just doesn't do it for me. But he has been at the top of the card and even main evented a PPV or two so the WWE has been successful with this character. Hope they hook him up with Estrada again. Maybe Estrada can come back and point Umaga toward the McMahons, saying that they used him for their own selfish purposes and forced Estrada away when he pointed it out (thus explaining his absense).

Who's gonna be the next challenger for Edge's title? Are they gonna give Batista one more last chance? Did anyone see what Konnan said about all wrestlers? You can go to 24wrestling.com to see it. I've been on vacation, so sorry if this is old news.

I couldn't behave myself and checked out the spoilers. I won't spoil it either, but that will be a interesting match to watch. I don't think I ever saw those two compete against each other before.

It would have been a MUCH better interview if Nancy Grace would stop interrupting Konnan. I wanted to hear Konnan, NOT Nancy Grace's shrill voice. Konnan was very articulate, and has some very revealing statements about McMahon's organization. Do wrestlers in WWE have ANY health insurance? quote:

As a "get rich scheme" this would have zero chance of success. Good thing thats not your goal. If you are going to sell them you might as well get as much as you can or at least know what to expect so you aren't holding out for something that won't happen. I was trying to provide info that would help you to do that albeit I am not an expert. As far as helping or not helping the companies you would be helping them. They put out quality product and your buyers will likely see that and support those companies in the future. So if you feel that you are doing these companies wrong or that others will think so don't worry about that if you were. Those DVDs are yours to do with as you see fit (as long as you don't make copies, highly unlikely given your stated purpose). So here's hoping you get a fair price and remove what you see as clutter from your life.

WWE Mystery: Chris Benoit Tragedy Monday, July 09, 2007 This is a partial transcript+++ from "Hannity & Colmes," July 6, 2007, that has been edited for clarity. ALAN COLMES, CO-HOST: This week, People magazine takes a closer look at the life of wrestler Chris Benoit , which offers shocking details into the double murder. And at the same time the U.K. Sun has released a study that shows 107 wrestlers have died in the last 10 years. The WWE responded to that story today, saying, quote, "We are in the process of reviewing this list and the many others that are circulating around the Internet. We intend to comment on those lists in the near future," end quote. Joining us now with more details, former WWF wrestler Lenny Rafo (sic) and Jacques Rougeau. We welcome you both. Lanny, did you know Chris or Nancy? +++ http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,288653,00.html

Taker is out with an arm injury. Currently working on some real estate projects, including the recently completed Calahart Building in Colorado with his business partner (Mark Calaway and Scott Everhart). He is working on setting up his retirement from wrestling, as the years and injuries are starting to take their toll. I'm kinda hoping he stays in, at least around Mania time each year, to bump his streak to 20-0, just because it is a nice, round number.

I would of only caught the last hour of it so it wasn't worth watching it Well, to be honest, nothing majorly important happened last night. William Regal had a match with Sandman which surprise surprise, ended with Regal winning as a result of a disqualification. Umaga tossed Santino around the ring some more. Lashly and Booker T were interuppted by Kennedy who later on set upon SuperCrazy in the back because of last week. Cena wasn't there, he was off in La La Land talking with Larry King, the women had a tag match that was unimpressive and boring at best, Dusty Rhodes and Orton acted did some very poor acting in the center of the ring and had a confrontation that culminated in a Texas Bullrope match being announced for the Great American Bash, Lashley and Jeff Hardy teamed against Booker T and Kennedy in the main even which of course Lashley and Hardy won. Oh, and Snitskey came out and made short work of Super Crazy prior to the Kennedy beating in the back. I think that about covered it. Oh, and Shelton Benjamin lost a match to Brian London I think it was. All in all, I read my book through three quarters of RAW. It wasn't that great last night. I'd have had a better time playing solitare.
