......... oooooo.... that sounds weird... saving vacation days just incase of funerals.

Happy Friday, Ray!

We used to be able to bank unused sick days and I'll tell you, that came in very handy when I busted my wrist up. I actually had enough to carry me the whole time I had to be off (5 weeks) before I could go back to work.

So the accumulated vacation time that you have Ray is really like a security blanket of sorts.

Not going anywhere Trish.

While I'm on vacation, we're not going out of town. Today we're going to the zoo. Other than that I'll just be doing some much-needed yard work and putting in our garden.

Last night the family was over and we celebrated DD#2's birthday with a BBQ.

Oooooo, YUM!!

Please tell DD#2 Happy Birthday for me, will you please?

Have fun at the zoo and take pics of Alex's reactions if you can.

Josh and Anoush come later today and then we go to Pizza Ranch with Jeff's sister, her son and her grandson! Should be a good time.

OH!! And my new puter will be hooked up today also, as well as keeping the older one connected.
Old puter may be "outdated" but she contains a world of treasures, including ALL the stuff involving all my friends here in CW. For now she is definitely a keeper.

My work can only carry over one week of vacation from year to year.

Enjoy the new computer Sharon, is it a new Apple? I am sure it will be a lot of fun!

Sharon congratulations on the new computer. If the information on the old computer is important to you, I hope that you have the information backed up. You never know when that hard-drive might fail.

Same goes for the new one too. The most likely times for the hard drive to fail is when it's new, and when it's old. The last time I bought a PC, the hard drive failed after about a week. It happens all the time. After that happened, I bought an external hard drive that is used to back up the whole computer.

Yes Mike it is an Apple iMac OSX.5

Ray, I'm really proud o myself at what I got hooked up on my own and re-hooking the older one back up. Now if there is anything I need from the old I can load it on my jump drive and transfer it to the new one. I now have the capability to write CD's too. I am really pretty excited. I am not real thrilled with the new keyboard. It is VERY thin and I don't think the keys respond like I like them too. They feel "sticky" in their response. I may be able to fix that to a degree.
The other thing is that I will probably have to get a higher chair, or lower the computer level. My eyes are a little stressed at the moment looking at s so much bigger, brighter screen than what I had before. I'm sure it will all work out.

How was the trip to the zoo?? If the weather was like it was here, it must have been a near perfect day huh?

Now I tried to write CD's but just like writing on paper, it takes a long time though.

I LOVE the pc Mac commercials.

I'm going to all these different sites that I have been having trouble going to before.
The problems that I was having with that had more to do with the crummy browsers that I had at my disposal. *sigh* Owell as Catherine would say.

Hi Ray!

LOL on the Microsoft car joke!

Hope you had fun at the zoo Ray.

Sharon, that's great on the new puter. What's also neat is the program where you can backup stuff on an iDisk. I had the membership for a year but never renewed. Do you subscribe to that?

Hi Trishy!! No, I haven't really looked at that kind of stuff yet, but I doubt it. I can now write CDs so I will backup some things that way and I also have several jump drives.

I miss your's and John's thread. I am so far behind now and You were also posting wedding stuff in a separate thread too weren't you?
With added hours at work and all I don't have quite as much time as before. I definitely still think about you both though!

It really was a perfect day. The temperature was right around 70F with no wind and bright sun. Not perfect for pictures, but good for the temperament.

I am having a ball Ray!! LOL!

Great pics! I really like that bear one with DD#1.

And some of the facial expressions on Alex are just too darn cute!!

Avatar size doesn't really show it as much but that one expression with milk around his mouth and he looks "intoxicated" is just hilarious!!!

Hope you're having a good day!
