Who...me?

We're doing fine.

The good news is that as of about two days ago, I'm off of insulin.

Will keep an emergency supply in case the blood sugar spikes or something, but no more daily shots. The diabetes is being controlled by weight loss, strict diet, exercize and an oral medication Glucophage (aka Metformin).

There is a stress test and an echo-cardiogram scheduled for May 29th. Thankfully, I'm off caffeine for good, and don't have to come down off of it for the testing.

Also it sounds like I'll be getting the treadmill instead of the drug-induced stress test. I've had both in the past. The treadmill is better because the drug is very unsettling.

Tooshy is OK. Her knee did not recover as much as had been hoped from the cortizone shot. While the extreme pain is better than it was, it still hurts considerably. She goes back to the Dr. in June.

The grand-baby is doing well.

Be careful with that...a couple women here in forums have used that to treat a fertility disorder. You don't want to end up pregnant, do you, Ray?

Sounds like you are doing GREAT on your new healthy lifestyle. Good job!!! And good job, TooShy, as I'm sure she plays a big part in it too.

She really does. Not only is she willing to help with cooking the right things and keeping me on track, but she's also eating the same food too. That really helps to have someone who looks after you and is continually concerned for your well-being. Her only downfall is sometimes math is involved and I have to help her with that. I don't mind though.

She's a keeper.

We have a good neighbourhood too, Ray. The thieves come from other parts of the city because they know the pickings are good here. Sigh. Interestingly, our yard is cluttered with old bikes and no one wants to take them.

That happens in the fancier/rich parts of suburban communities here as well.

Thanks. I was a little concerned that the blood sugar would go high again, but it didn't.

The only problem we've had has been kids stealing things out of cars that weren't locked. And that hasn't happened in a couple years.

I'm very glad you are off the insulin Ray!

And I'll continue to pray for TooShy's knee.

I have lived in neighborhoods where things would get stolen, usual mail or other things. I remember once 20 years ago I had a charge card but no money, and went out and purchased the most expensive walkman that I could find. The sound on it was awesome, megabass, etc.

Well the first model that I got didn't work correctly, so I exchanged it and got another one instead. Within 2 days, that one was stolen from my apartment no less. My apartment didn't have good locks and my roommate knew some shady people.

When I told my pastor about what happened, he said that God had judged me, truth be told, with the conviction that I was feeling on owning the walkman that I had, I couldn't agree with him more!

I accidentally left a book in the library restroom at work a few months ago. When I realized that I'd left it there a couple hours later, I went back to check and it was gone.

It was a Christian book though, so at first I didn't mind. Later I realized they'd probably just sell it instead of reading it.

That's great about the insulin, Ray! Good for you!

I found that cortisone only helped so much in terms of pain relief for me too. I hope that the doctor can do something to better help her soon.

Do you have Sir Alex tonight?

Uh, I have a question. Why do men read in the restroom? I never could understand why.

I only read in there when I am bored and well, waiting. Maybe you could start this question in He Says.
