I have listened to the Perry's for years. More often in the last 7-8 years than ever. In my preference to Quartets, the Perrys are one of the very few mixed groups I actually listen to. I absolutely loved Loren Harris with the Perrys, I thought (still do) that he was an awesome vocalist. I will admit, when I learned of Joseph's move from baritone to lead upon Loren's departure, then the hiring of Nick, I was a little sceptical... that is until I heard them! To me, the sound is more balanced, with Loren, you had the three powerhouse vocals Loren, Joseph, and Libbi... and at times, you weren't sure (when listening to the whole group) "who to listen to"... Now, as great as I think Nick is, Joseph and Libbi are definitely the "powerhouse" vocalists. But with Nick in there, the sound is more balanced, and the overall blend is much better. Now what I am saying is strictly my opinion, which is just that, my opinion. Many may share it, many will not... Just wanted to state it. More than that, the comments that were made of Joseph's ego... I want to say this... Since his move to lead, I have (personally) seen a dramatic change in Joseph Habedank. I am not saying that he had ego issues before, but since the move, he has become like a different person -- IN A GOOD WAY! The last couple times I have seen them, he has been more sensitive to God's moving, to the needs/reactions of the audience, and he has been (in my opinion) so much more humble! He seems to have really "grown up" a lot (versus before the move) in the last several months. My last comment is this: I may have missed something here, but in reading the article, I never saw where any of his comments were derived from personal experience with the artist in question. I saw where a lot of his comments were relying on the reports of friends, and email, but I never saw where he said he had seen this group/artist live. Again - I could have easily just not seen this, so if I am wrong, please forgive me....
