Wishing I could lay down and take a nice long nap. Other than that I'm just peachy.

I can still watch on cable. I don't know what channel (I always see it when I'm surfing), but it runs around 7 or 8 at night.

Bill and Momma...LOL!! If you two aren't sibs, you are the closest thing to it with your interactions.

~~~~~~~~~Another prayer request...
I just found out tonight that one of our 3rd shift pressmen left his job in the middle of shift because he wasn't feeling well. He ended up in the hospital with his kidneys and liver shutting down. That is all I know right now. But I appreciate that the press guys told me. They seem pretty worried so I know this is very serious. I don't think Eric is even 40 yrs. old.
If you all would lift Eric Drew and his family in prayer tonight I would appreciate it.
((((((Everyone))))))
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just got home so now I want to go and EAT!!

Yikes - kidney's are important! I'm doing what I can for Eric, who I already have called Drew by mistake. Cool the God knows who I meant.

Every time I see that picture of little Charlie I think of DeeDee. She is 11 this weekend. 11 years ago today (or was it Wednesday) I said, "No thank you" to induction and refused to go to the hospital when they scheduled my time. (I don't do ANYTHING at 5am I don't have to) 11 years ago I got up and watched Princess Diana's funeral and made Poppa do laundry and lunch. I asked him when the whites went in, and then the colors and he realized I was timing myself on the clothes. The nurses asked if I was sure about her name or would I change it to Diana Theresa. I didn't.

Oh, my point. DeeDee was also in the NICU, but she was a bit bigger and didn't stay long. She had fluid in her lungs, but no infection, Praise the Lord. She was home by Wednesday. I remember calling Poppa at work and asked when he was coming to get his girls. They are so careful with little ones today and they can do so many amazing things. I do know what Charlies Momma is going through to an extent. I was always sure she would be fine. God told me so. The nurses would prepare me for things. Multiple IV sites, 14-21 days in NICU then transistion and I insisted I would have her home and they needed worry me with paperwork, it wasn't going to happen like that. The called it denial. Poppa and I called it Faith.

Bill as my sib? He'd be my older brother. Notice I didn't say MUCH older brother. I figured that wasn't necessary.
:-p

((((Momma_bee)))))) Thank you so much for sharing that about Dee Dee's birth. It was very moving!

Charlie was actually at 7lbs even 5 weeks early. His big sister Sam (Samantha) was a 10 pounder. I forgot how Sam's birth went. I think okay but even then there were concerns about Erin (mom).
I still haven't heard anything tonight and it's getting late to be calling around so I really don't have any new news this evening.

Thank you for the prayers for Eric. I will do some "snooping" tomorrow right away to see how he is doing.

And....

HAPPY
BIRTHDAY
THIS WEEKEND
DEE DEE!!!

She will LOVE that Sharon.

She is a perpetual cross between the green one and the dancing one. With a singing smiley to boot.

She was a 9 pounder at 4 days late. BigBee was 7#, 14oz and 5 days early. Well, except everyone promised the first was at least a week late, so he is also the child who was at the Pink Floyd concert 6 days beforehand. I said that if he came then, I was giving him Floyd as a middle name. It is his gr-granddad's middle name, so it work...

I was told NO. Rather loudly, by everyone.

I'm praying for Charlie.

quote:

I've started a few fires in the burner pans and on the burners. Does that count for something?

I remember when we were first married we had a fire on the stove--in a pot. Dh didn't know what to do, so he took the pot off the stove and ran around the kitchen looking for a "safe" place to put it. In the end he decided the floor was the safest place and put it on the linoleum newly laid by the landlord.

One of my sons loves to blow things up. We have a hole in our concrete patio to prove it.

Has he met Darcy?

Does Darcy blow things up?

Yeah Sharon, that's what I need, another sister! Four isn't enough.

Hi Sharon,
Sent a prayer up for baby Charlie, and your co-worked, Eric. Hope all turns out well for both of them.

My oldest was an induced baby. After she was born, it was discovered she was a month early! She had a rough start, and after 24 hours I could FINALLY hold her. She weighed 5 lbs 12 oz. and was haveing difficulty breathing.
But all turned out well, and she grew fine, reaching 9 lbs by the time she was a month old.

Pressmen...

Sheesh!

When are we gonna learn that even though the solvent smells good we are not to drink it!

Of course the others told YOU about him Sharon. They see the Light in you. As do the rest of us...

I'm glad Momma_bee. My niece Angie's daughter Jenny is 11 so I can kinda get the picture of the "energy".

UPDATE Baby Charlie...

Charlie is doing MUCH better and the doctors are cautiously optimistic that he may not have any permanent damage from the time period it was at it's worst. He was a very sick little guy, but his color is back to baby pink, his muscles have been evaluated and test good, he has gained a little weight. He still has some issues with eating though.
Thank you ALL sooooo much for your prayers. Please continue prayers for Erin and Tom as well. As any parent with a sick child or premie child can attest...it is so stressful. There is one doctor that has a harsher, more negative attitude when he talks to Tom and Erin... pray for him too.

~~~~~~~~~~
Now I hope I can find out something about Eric today. If I can't at work, I am going to call his brother and sister in law and see what I can find out.
Ben, re the press guys... you know, so many of them are the sorta grumbling curmudgeons that I am always sorta verbally jabbing at to get them to laugh or lighten up...
after Jeff died, and the letter that I posted at all the time clocks, they were different in a non-spoken sort of way, if you know what I mean. I "sensed" their compassion for me. I "sensed" their "protectiveness". I can't tell you how much that has touched me and actually continues to this day. It makes me tear up just typing it.
The other thing I "sensed" in them, was the awareness of their own mortality, and how things can change in an instant.
Well, time to get zippy and get myself to work. It is cool and cloudy here today. Loving it!! I am half tempted to wear a sweatshirt!!
Have a GREAT day everyone!
