LOL. I knew someone that used to put coke in the freezer and it frequently exploded.

My starter container didn't smash though, fortunately. The lid just blew off it. Woke Munchie up though!

When I was responsible for food service at my old job more than 10 years ago, a can of Coke froze in the refrigerator and thus exploded. It took 4 hours to clean that up.

You had sourdoughblow eh, Aga? LOL!

Glad it was pretty contained so there wasn't a lot of mess to clean up.

I just got home from supper with mom, sis and my mom's friend. It was nice conversation and I chose a Chicken/steak stir fry bowl. It was really good. I brought a fair amount home. The "bowl" is more like a casserole dish.

I made sweet and sour chicken tonight. It was okay.

I hate dealing with chicken. I always feel like I'm contaminating my whole kitchen with chicken bacteria.

Why? Exactly what do you do with the chicken to contaminate the whole kitchen?

Well, it was frozen, so I had to thaw it out in the microwave, after I pryed the styrefoam plate off the bottom. Then, I had to cut it into 1 inch pieces and transfer it to a bowl so I could coat it with the corn starch stuff. Then transfer it to the pan on the stove to fry.

They just make such a big deal out of chicken bacteria on the news and commercials, so I'm super paranoid about it.

I feel that way too Beckey for the most part. I am better than I used to be. I use paper towel when I pull the skin off, and I immediately clean counter, faucet, sinks hands and under the fingernails when I am done. LOL!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friends, I have a prayer request. You are all well known prayer warriors to my family and friends. I just got a call from my Sister-in-law Maryruth who is the grandma to baby Charlie who was born 5 weeks early. He had been doing well, but Daddy Tom called to say that Charlie is running a fever and the medical staff is concerned about the possibility of meningitis. It would comfort them to know that many are praying for Charlie.
Thank you so much. Mom's name is Erin, who has been struggling about having to leave Charlie in the first place at night to go home and now this.
Oh ok. I don't defrost meat in the microwave. I have hang ups about it starting to cook!
And while we should be careful about cleaning up after handling raw meat, I don't think that we should freak out about it. unless you're dripping chicken juices all over the microwave, and the counter when you're defrosting and cutting it, you should be fine. If you want to be sure to kill any bacteria in the microwave, put a small bowl of water in it and heat it on high for 5 minutes ~ the heat will kill the germs. I wash any knives and bowls that have had raw meat in them separately to other dishes and then I bleach the cloth before chucking it into the wash. If germs survive all that, they deserve to live!
Thanks Beckey and James. I just got an email from Charlie's Aunt Susie that she sent out to her friends.
I am hoping that Susie can get a phone pic that daddy Tom took sent to me. If it is half way decent I will post it so y'all can put a face to baby Charlie.
Me too. even if I buy it fresh, I bleach down the counters, sink, my hands, everything.
Thanks Momma_bee and Kimberly. I guess Charlie's Aunt Susie won't be sending a pic tonight as I have not heard back from her.
Thank you Trish and Barb!
I am heading to work but I changed my avatar so that anyone can put a face to Baby Charles as they send a prayer. Thank you all so much. I have not heard yet how he is doing today but I will definitely share any updates.
Have a great day everyone.
