I started this thread last year and was surprised to see it still active. When I started it I was like most and I stayed all the way to the end. I recently went to a four-day event where they promised a spectacular ending. The first night all the groups that were singing that night got up and sang a few songs together and then ended it. After that, I left during the intermission the remaining nights.

I remember when they used to have groups come out and each sang a few of their songs after the intermission. They used to come on and quickly do two or three popular requests and the next group came on and did the same. It took 20-30 minutes and was usually a lot of fun because the songs were often their signature songs. Then after they all sang a couple, they would have a brief time for an invitation and prayer and we would all go home satisfied.

I went to a concert last weekend where two groups sang their 50-60 minute sets, we had a 15-20 minute intermission and then each group did five or six songs after the intermission ending with an invitation. What a great event!!!

I just don't like waiting for a 20-25 minute intermission and then seeing an unrehearsed performance of all the groups at once singing "I'll Fly Away".

I left my first concert at intermission last weekend. We drove four hours to get there, listened to several hours of great music, but by 9 pm, we were all so tired! We ended up leaving an hour early so we made it home by 1 am instead of 2. Then we had church at 8. Last Sunday was a nap day. [:)]

I was sad to leave, but my poor husband had a hard time staying awake on the drive home. We lost a little money, but we're still alive. [sm=redhairsmile.gif]

I have been to many a football game where the women came on in to the men's room if they couldn't wait.

It wouldn't bother me at a SG concert, but I've never seen it.

The way to deal with that is just go to the little gal's room either while they are singing or before or after the concert. Doesn't take that long when you can get in and out. Then you are free to go to the product tables at intermission and harrass the artists.[;)]

However, I usually do a large coffee before the concert just so I can stay awake on the drive home, esp. when I am alone. That doesn't help the potty-break thingy.[8|])

If you have a major group on a program by themselves, it's often difficult for them to get away from their table and back on stage, but there is no reason an intermission should ever extend for more than 15 minutes when more than one group is on the bill. It's good to have a local group on the bill along with a major artist. The local group can go ahead and start singing after the 15 minute break. By the time they've sung two or three songs, the crowd will take the hint and get back to their seats.
