We're pretty slow-paced here, where I live, I think. A lot more than our cities our size. I think I wouldn't want anything faster paced. What a great way to get sick! I wonder if anyone's done a comparison of health between those who live in fast-paced environments and those who live at a slower pace.

Hi Marsha. Just thought I'd bump your thread for you. Maggie's online--maybe she and I can start a conversation to get your thread moving till you get back. How are you, Maggie?

Sorry I failed you there, Deb. I often have a page open here in CW when really my attention is elsewhere. It's nearly 4:00 a.m. and I can't sleep. What's with that? I didn't sleep much last night either. I'm recovering from having my gallbladder removed a week ago. I'm amazed at how well things went and continue to be. It's really worth while to tell the anesthesiologist if you've had problems with general anesthetic before. It's always made me very sick. I told her this and she put together a cocktail of drugs to keep that from happening. It worked! Absolutely amazing. (Now, if only I could get some sleep.) What's happening in your world, Deb? Marsha, how are things with you?

Glad to hear you are recovering Maggie. Why did you have your gall bladder removed? Were you prone to gall stones?

My mom had her gallbladder removed last summer...at the age of 91. She's quite active, though. She still driives, plays bocci ball, and is active in the Widowed Person's Associaton of California. (I love bragging on her.)

Gall bladders only need be removed if stones bother you. My ob-gyn was required to inform me that he saw some when he removed my cyst, but unless they bother me, no surgery is needed. That was 10 years ago My aide left at 1030 to attend a funeral, since I found a fill-in, who will come at 2 and back at 6. My weekends are covered by the agency. Blew me away....just called, they did, and told me that Shannon is going to fill in on Saturday. Evidently, she back at the agency, at least part-time. The weather is great here, highs in 70s. I think I may go for a walk later. Nate came home to eat lunch and the interaction was pleasant. That does happen, but many times he's tired and impatient. He's 20 and some of you know what that means. I had an opportunity to explain unconditional love, what it is and isn't. He's my son, nothing changes that bond of love. I will be nice to anyone he cares about enough to bring home. But, I won't encourage nor tolerate certain things on my property. He seems to get it now. I will never say 'Go get a girl pregnant, please," but I wouldn't be shattered if it happened. I wouldn't break ties at all,, and no doubt would be nuts-o about the little one. J never thought he needed that kind of explaination..

Marsha --- I think it's great that you have a good relationship with your boys. I hope they treasure that friendship and pass it on to their children.

I had a gallbladder attack last October. The ER doctor wanted me to have the gallbladder taken out ASAP. So it came out June 12. Not exactly the timeline I had envisioned but I left it in God's hands. Wow, Deb! I'm sure they're very reluctant to do much surgery on someone of that age. Good for her for being so active! My great-aunt Fern was like that (though she'd never driven). Marsha, sounds like you had a really good talk with Nate. I like your attitude about unconditional love. Our kids need that so badly. Awesome news about Shannon!

Things are okay, just my last two post were interrupted and I didn''t get back to them. It was a great day weather wise, but I didn't even get out on the porch. The humidity is supposed to still be low, so maybe tomorrow I will be able to. No where exciting around here, Deb. Tim went to another part of PA with families from church. He'll be back Sunday evening, Lord willing. He's becoming such a fine young man. I am so thankful to God and proud of my son. He's matured so much. Nate is doing well; he's just not as willing to learn from others. I'm looking for more good movies, should anyone have suggestions I recommend Something the Lord Made. It's about the first black surgeon. I've watched a lot of movies that I've seen before; some old ones, like Love Story and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

Hi Marsha, if you haven't seen the movie by Tom Hanks from back in the 80's "Big" then I highly recommend it! Another movie that you may want to consider that I am planning on seeing at some point is "The Great Debaters" also.

OK, Mike, thanks. The boys saw Big, but back then, I almost never watched movies. The Great Debaters is one I haven't heard of. I'll look it up. Someone recommended There Will be Blood. It looks like a depressing movie, so I haven't wanted to watch it yet. Have you seen it? People must be at church. Tim will be home tonight. I sent my Aide to Subway, for a 6 inch chicken bacon club. It was good; I get everything, except lettuce and hot peppers, so it's like a salad in bread. The week that Shannon was here, I was really hungry and ate a foot long meatball sub with green peppers, olives and onions. It was my lunch and dinner. I can say that with no shame because I'm down to the upper range of my normal fatness now. Whenever I feel like I'm trying too hard, I purposely eat something unhealthy that I'm missing.

Hi Marsha! Yes, I actually just got back from church and lunch out with Bill. Now I'm ready for a nap -- pasta always affects me that way That IS wonderful about Tim and his involvement with church and his hunger for things of God. I'm sure it's helped to have the ppl at church be so willing to include him and watch out for him, but you've laid the groundwork for all that. It's an achievement, to be sure. And I think Nate will come around . . some are just slower that others to admit their need of the Lord and accept all He holds out to us -- boy, do I ever know that one! Bill . . . ah well, I won't even go there. Keep praying for Nate. You have good boys {{{{{{{{{Marsha}}}}}}}}}} I'm glad Shannon got to come for the weekend -- is this going to happen more, now that she's emplyed at the agency again?

Hi Marsha, Sharon, Linda and Deb! I haven't see The Great Debators yet, however it does seem like a more serious movie than light-hearted.

Yes, Leah, I returned to that church five years ago, after a five year break because I knew I could get that kind of support. I and they give God all the glory. I just feel ashamed for the way I doubted what I heard God speak into my heart. Like I was in that stormy boat, snoozing with Jesus. Then after hearing the more saintly disciples frantically trying to arouse Him, I come out of rest and start shaking him so hard that I'm left winded. I mean just in case he didn't know it storming violently, I didn't want to be sitting obliviously like a fool. Well, Nathaniel is here with a couple of perennials for me to decide where to plant.

If you don't mind a little bad language I recommend "The Bucket List", starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. It was so good I'm probably going to buy the dvd.
