What's a Hobo dinner?

What firefightermama said. Spray individual heavy foil squares with cooking spray, throw on portions of whatever veggies you like/have on hand-- I used diced red potato, sliced onion, diced carrots, and cut green beans-- along with a hamburger patty, a few dashes of Worcestershire and salt and pepper, wrap it up, throw it on the upper grill rack, and 20-25 minutes later, dinner is ready. We like ketchup on it.

Tonight it's Crock Pot Creamy Garlic Chicken, short-grain brown rice (or maybe whole wheat rotini), and broccoli.

I'm making that balsamic grilled chicken again, and stuffing. Some sort of veggie (maybe green beans from the pick-your-own place).

DH and I are serving at a soup kitchen tonight where the menu is meatball hoagies, cheesy hash browns, baked beans and fruit.

You mean I'm supposed to make dinner??? I can't just hope the kids and I will nap away the afternoon and right through the night??? LOL

Well in THAT case ... we're probably going to do something super simple like sandwiches, since it is soccer night (this way they can eat en route to the field)

I'm doing some herbed chicken with rice and peas (we cooked a huge pot of it the other night, so we'll be eating it all night long).

Hi people! It's been a while...

Tonight I fed the kids hotdogs, tatertots and lima beans, then bananas dipped in choc & whipped cream for dessert.

Dh is working late, when he gets home we will have Sauteed talapia, couscous and limabeans. Well, I will eat limas, I will let dh choose something else cuz the man is PICKY.

Merv and the boys had hot ham and cheese sandwiches made with crescent roll dough. I modified mine and used a whole wheat pita pocket. It was very yummy that way and only a fraction of the calories.

I love grilled cheese. It's serious comfort food. Speaking of which, I really, really need to bake bread tomorrow. I didn't get anything done today, but I was sick, so I have an excuse. (My mom came over to do dishes and watch Nathan.)

I did throw in some Parmesan-crusted Tilapia, heated some veggies and made instant mashed potatoes (I know, shameful ).

We had it as a quick dinner. I got home late from volunteering at church and didn't have anything planned to cook quickly. Luckily, I had frozen some chili last time I made it. Thank God for Microwave Auto Defrost!!

Wait a minute. You ladies don't eat if your husband isn't home? This pregnant lady eats when she's hungry, but I will sit and talk with him while he eats.

I agree. Whenever I'm sick, I want my mommy to come make me grilled cheese and tomato soup, because that's what she always made when we were sick (other than tummy things, of course).

Homemade mac n cheese is another major comfort food for me. Yum!

Hmmm...maybe I'll make one of those for dinner tomorrow.

We go ahead if Brian isn't home. His work schedule is wacky and I never know when he'll be home. If it's a nice meal and we're talking 20 minutes, we might wait, but anything else...nope. He doesn't mind, long as we save him some.

My month-old policy is that I eat when dinner is ready, making every effort to have it at a time when he will be home and at his convenience. However, if he doesn't come when I call or is not home, I go ahead and eat.

My mom generally tried to hold us off from dinner until my dad got home and had a few minutes to jump in the shower. It got easier with cell phones because he could call when he was on his way home.

We're having hamburgers and leftovers.

I think tonight will be Flinzen: thin pancakes spread with a little melted butter and sugar and rolled up. Lots of eggs in them
