A couple of movies that had a ton of hype that I didn't like at all.

1. The Day After Tomorrow - I went in expecting an exciting disaster movie, instead I was bored to tears.
2. Sideways - All I could hear was how this was a great comedy and how funny it was. I didn't laugh once.

The Flintstones and the spoof Mafia were pretty painful to watch too.

For me, the worst movie ever is probably "Glen Garry Glen Ross." I watched it with some friends and the only thing that now make it fun is that we enjoyed making fun of how bad we thought it was. I think we were counting a certain vulgar word, which seemed to be about 50% of the dialog. The other 50% of the dialog seemed to be something about "getting the deal." But two of us later saw the soundtrack (!!!) to this movie at a store, so had to buy it just to mail to one of the other friends who had moved away from our area! I just did not understand this movie, I guess, and it's too bad that they really had excellent actors in it. I thought that was a waste of talent.

Yep. Already been mentioned by me. But it's good to know that somebody else thinks it was a real stinker!

It was absolutely awful.

I've already said Dead Man some pages ago......but I just saw Punch Drunk Love for the first time a few days ago, and that is definitely in my top 3 worst.

Man, I don't belong in this thread...

The Pirates series is a waste of time. Poor script. Loose plot. Insipid, inane performances.

Yes, it was. Just the technicalities, alone, nevermind the script and performances.

Pretty much anything with Will Ferrell in it. Old School. Or Ben Stiller movies. I loved The Ben Stiller Show, and Reality Bites, but that's it.

I like Punch Drunk Love. I hate Adam Sandler's schtick. I found it really refreshing, to see him actually act. And all the rest of it. I enjoyed it.

I wasn't disappointed with PDL because Adam Sandler wasn't acting in a typical role....I just didn't like it.

Wow...that is a hard question to answer. I think that such a topic brings to mind different dislikes for just about everyone. There have been too many bad movies over the years to pick just one but two that I recently have developed extreme prejudice for are Waiting, and Thank You for Smoking. In ref to the last, who cast Katie Holmes in Batman Begins? I almost cried when she appeared:(
She and her little strumpet of a character in Thank You for Smoking killed it for me. First, the movie was awful. The story was a good idea but so many people missed the satirical nature of the film. Second and lastly, all that needs to be said is that the happy faced medicocrity and pseudo witticisms of the starring actor, who I can't name anymore, left me quite nauseated wishing that I had spent my three bucks on fast food, which I abhor.

I've tried to watch it twice, I keep getting bad DVDs from Netflix.

If you don't like him in that, definately don't see In the Company of Men.

I think the point behind Glen Garry Glen Ross deals with people having the difficulty in communicating in today's age. Especially with the profanity (i.e, the poor man's 'language enhancer'), and the broken syntax, I believe the theme concerns with how in the cutthroat world of real estate, people are here to work, not communicate... hence the reason why people can't effectively say what they're supposed to say sans the expletives; or that's what I got in reading David Mamet's introduction to the script.

I absolutely hated Georgia Rule. It had a couple funny lines in the first couple minutes but after that it was very serious, dirty and wordly.

I agree.... This was a very bad movie... A long sequence of pirates jumping from ship to ship and clashing with swords. I can't believe #3 is out at the theaters now! Who keeps watching these movies?

"Gods and Generals" is the worst Civil War movie ever. It is like a bad history pageant. I can't believe I put in the 2nd tape and watched the rest of it!

"Tron" had to be the worst movie of the '80s. It was supposed to be the height of computer animation, but it was the height of boredom for me.

Who cares what "many people" missed? I thoroughly enjoyed the movie for the satire it is. Aaron Eckhart did an excellent job IMO portraying someone (Nick Naylor) who is at once charming, conflicted, driven and ruthless.

Do you ordinarily like satires, or did this one just leave you sour?

I do! I love the Pirates movies. And it's not just all clashing with swords jumping from ship to ship - there is an actual storyline, and it's about loyalty and love. I'm still yet to see the 3rd one, but I can't wait!

OK! I have just seen the WORST MOVIE EVER MADE! It was playing on cable. It is called "The Forbidden Zone", starring Herve Villachaise (Tattoo from Fantasy Island). This movie was just horrible! It's like somebodys "trip" on LSD. It is also a musical.

This one took the cake for me! It gets my vote as worst movie ever made, period!

168 posts and nobody has mentioned "Bewitched" with Will Farrell and What'sHerName.

Another awful movie: "Cider House Rules".

Do you mean to say that you didn't like the two "Cheaper By The Dozen" movies? I thought those were really good films, as well as the two "Father of the Bride" movies. I especially thought that he did a fine job in those. His reaction to finding out that he was going to be a father and a grandfather at the same time was priceless, not to mention how he and Martin Short played off of each other.
