OR was there really even a baby???? Maybe Lex faked it all to get Lana to marry him!!???!

No there was a baby. Lex was looking at an ultrasound picture in the one episode and the kid wasn't normal. I think maybe he was trying to make some kind of supersoldier type to take out Clark and the meteor infected people.

I know there was a ultrasound pic. but it still could have been a fake. I never thought the supersoldier route either. All VERY interesting!!

Man, don't even bring up the term "supersoldier"

(remembers the last two seasons of X-Files, and shudders)

I don't think it was fake. Wahtever it was was enough to make Lex kill that doctor right before his wedding when the doc threatened to tell Lana was Lex did to her and the baby.

How about a Bruce Wayne cameo? Who wouldn't want to see that?

What I've heard is that a Bruce Wayne cameo was already planned and cancelled (I can't remember which character was originally written to be revealed as Bruce Wayne). With the Batman Begins movies tying up that property, they haven't been able to get Batman on Smallville.

And Justice League spin-off? No thank you.....There is rumored to be a Justice League movie in the works, with the current Superman (brandon routh) and Batman (christian bale), but none of the other chraracters........

If it's just Superman and Batman, it's not Justice League, it's The World's Finest. Well, it is if they're working together, it's also been rumored that it's going to be a Superman vs. Batman movie.

*gets fake teary eyed at the use of the word "supersoldier", for an entirely different reason*

Goodbye Cap! We'll miss you! (Assuming Captain America is really dead, that is).

I'm also wondering what Cloe's powers will turn out to be.

Cloe's death setting up Clark -> Superman transformation and Lois' employment at DP would be interesting.

I'm still waiting for the full blown Superman vs Lex Luthor fight, but that will more than likely have to be in the series finale...

I kinda think Lana got on the van... cliche, but possible.

I'm HOPING they use next season to do the full transformation from Clark Kent to Superman. Maybe Season 8 could then be about the first year having the dual identities...

Good question. Lionel seemed to be the only witness (who exactly was driving that truck???) and his view was blocked for several seconds, long enough for her to hop the fence and trigger the bomb.

So now we have the first Bizarro. Where exactly do we find some blue kryptonite???

I don't think she is.She could have hopped into that delivery van. So does this really mean that Lionel is a GOOD GUY???? Because what about at the end??? He had that kryptonite. Was he going to kill Clark to protect Lex? Hmmm.

OK I checked out that site, White??? What about Black and Silver??

Dave:

They'll probably find some kind of blue jewelry that weakens him, and after discovering that discover that the jewelry is actually a blue form of kryptonite.

MMH should already know about this particular weakness, so I'm assuming he will be critical in stopping Bizarro.

I still say I want Season 7 to be the final transformation into "Superman". Season 6 was a GREAT way of leading up to this...

I agree that this past season was pretty good, especially the appearance of Green Arrow and the future Justice Leaguers. I'd like to see more of that; I was disappointed that J'onn (Martian Manhunter) was used so briefly in the finale.

Finally, I don't buy that Lana's dead for a second. I was almost shouting "She's in the van, bonehead!" at Lionel as he gaped at Lana's flaming truck.

If Chloe can survive being blown up, so can Lana.

Black and silver were both new versions made for Smallville. Apparently the site has not been updated to include those types.

Yeah, white. Kills only plants - the ultimate agent Orange.

Okay, time to resurrect a dying thread. The new season starts on Thursday, and this time we have the introduction of Supergirl, Clark's cousin from Krypton. Apparently, yes, Lana did survive (AGAIN) and I'm wondering how they are going to make her forget Clark's secret this season. There are two rumors, the one that I like is the delivery van. Kristin Kreuk (did I spell that right?) Said Lana's survival will involve....are you ready for this? Cloning.

I also heard that this is Michael Rosenbaum's final season, that he's leaving the show. If they stick to the comic storyline, I suppose that means John Glover isn't much longer for the world of Smallville.

Oh and I'll admit, I WAS WRONG *sob* I hate it when I have to admit that. I guess Lex really did invent a pregnancy. *sighs at the All My Children storylines*

Well, another rumor was that she is pronounced dead, but Clark finds her in the morgue and somehow manages to bring her back.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, as much as I love Chloe, I don't think she is going to last much longer, especially since Lois is now on the show. a) she knows Clark's secret and that doesn't bode well for some as we saw with Pete and b) something has to happen to galvanize Clark and Lois to start the Superman storyline. I really think it will involve Chloe's death. Also, I was watching the pilot episode with the commentary on, and they said that they invented Chloe's character to be a precurser to Lois Lane.

OK, folks. Once again, I'm called upon to go out and do something for someone in need - without a chance to set the VCR. I might have gotten back in time to see the last 30 minutes, but there was a wreck at the bottom of the hill leading up to our street. This blocked traffic long enough for me to arrive 30 minutes into "CSI" - which a story for another Thread. Anywhow . . . would somebody please tell me what happened?! This enquiring mind wants to know!

Sorry for that momentary rant. I'll just go sit in the corner and take my pills now.

Awesome episode. Although to be honest, the battle with Bizarro was a little anti-climatic. Clark did find out that his powers are strengthened by the "yellow sun" though. That was pretty cool.

I was so happy to see Lana's survival did not involve cloning. She just ran off to China. Good for her, I guess.

I wish we would have seen more of Kara in this episode. What I don't understand is if she is only scheduled for half a season, why is she in the opening credits? Confused.

Thanks, Dave, but my dial-up connection won't let that happen. And I definitely can't do it at work, since they block Internet radio stations. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait until they repeat the episode to see it.

Fwanger,

I meant to tell you this a moment ago: The reason for the actress playing Kara being listed in the opening creds is probably that she'll be popping in and out during the season, instead of being in every episode for 1/2 of it, then leaving. At least that's the way I'm seeing it.

noble,

Here's the lowdown on what happened last night.

Clark and Bizzaro continued their battle. The dam bursts, and is headed for a father and son fishing, Clark uses his heat vision to pull a total Superman move and evaporate all the water before it can reach them.

Lionel is found half dead on the side of the river and is dragged off by someone who doesn't come on screen. That's all we know about him for now.

Clark comes upon Lois and Chloe and gets them out of there. Chloe is pronounced dead at the hospital and then wakes up in the morgue. She sees her death certificate and right under it is Lana's. Clark finds her and they escape.

Lex is arrested and the car is swept away when the dam bursts. Kara comes in all white and saves him. He thinks she is an angel. He turns himself in to the police for what "happened" to Lana. Bizzaro comes and kills the cop and kidnaps Lex to take him to the dam so he can get his hands on the leftover kryptonite.

The Martin Manhunter clues Clark into the fact that the yellow sun helps give him his abilities and strength. It also weakens Bizzaro. Clark and Bizzaro fight, and when B gets thrown into the sunlight, Martian Manunter swoops down and wisks him away.

Lana is alive and well living in Shanghai China.

And that's about it. I might have missed some things. But all in all that was the episode.
