Anyone besides me think that Jeremy is an upgrade over Keith?

No.

I really like Jeremy, but I think he's still got a little bit of maturing (vocally) to do before he is an upgrade over Keith. Can't wait to see the new lineup!!!

What do you mean by maturing vocally?? Just curious.

Jeremy has a much better bass lead voice and smooth upper range and can match Keith on the bottom end with a better tone and not near as much vocal fry.

If you listen to something George Younce recorded at age 25, and something else he recorded at age 50, you would probably know what the person above means.

The same could be said for something J.D. Sumner recorded at 25 and at 50, though some people think his work at a young age is better. Either way, it's noticeably different.

I went to see them last nite, have a review posted in the Recent Concerts thread. I thought Jeremy was VERY good. Nice to see that Ricky is still with them at this point.
They did some songs from their upcoming project, which is called Real Faith, and from what I heard, it sounds Progressive like It's So God, which doesn't bother me a bit! They sound like great songs, including one called Prayin' Man that is being released to radio today.
The album doesn't come out till September, but Brian said they'd been done with it for several months and have been begging Daywind to release it earlier, so they got like 100 copies (no cover art or anything) and they had it available last nite. Didn't get me one though so I have to wait till NQC.

Yes. I loved Keith, but Jeremy's stage presence/look actually fits much better with BFA. He also has a great smile and is wonderful vocally.

I've seen Jeremy twice now and I'd seen Keith 6 or 7 times and Jeremy actually hits solid low notes at places Keith didn't. Jeremy just takes the song and rocks it! Keith was very good too, don't get me wrong, but until you see Jeremy you can't really make a good judgment.

Keith had age, but Jeremy is no demotion, IMO.

BFA was near Knoxville last week at the Grand Opening of a Motor Home business for a free concert. I did not get to go because of work.

they came to my church and had the pre-releases so i got one. and let me tell you when that real faith comes out ya'll need to go buy it. it is one of their best. and on the whole jeremy/keith thing, they're both great but jeremy does have a little maturing to do. he's already gotten better since he started with bfa.

I too bought one of their pre-releases, but I actually thought the vocals were overproduced. Barry Weeks (producer of the Booth Bros "Blind Man Saw It All" project) produced the album and I think he/they went a touch too far with the vocals. The songs are good. I really like the cd, but the vocals aren't nearly as dynamic and clear as they are on "It's So God." I loved "The Biggest Step," "I Believe God," and others, but they've actually produced better albums, IMO.

BTW, this album should do very well for them, but I was slightly dissappointed in the style. I'm not saying it was too progressive, I'm just saying it wasn't quite as much to my particular taste as "It's So God" was.

Wow, if you're saying it was pretty progressive...well, let's just say it probably won't be the next MTT "Journey Thus Far" in style!

Brian Free & Assurance, Triumphant Quartet and Enlisted are doing 'A SOUTHERN GOSPEL CHRISTMAS' December 1 in Powder Springs, GA. Brian will be doing songs from his Christmas Album and Triumphant will be doing their Christmas Program from the Miracle. Of course there will be a mixture of Southern Gospel Music to.

Well like I said, I liked the album, but I've heard better out of them. "True To The Call" by the Kingdom Heirs is still, in my opinion, hands-down the best album this year.

BFA is still my favorite group. I'd just like to see a slight tweak in direction.

Very interesting. Well, if it strikes a chord with the fans and is a big success, then they made the right move no matter how you and I feel--and if it doesn't strike a chord, they'll be back within a few years to what works.

Well I am done with the "Real Faith" CD... and I must say it is completely different from their other cd's. But... I do like it.

I was reading in a post about Jeremy replacing Keith... some was for it... and some was against it. But I have to be honest... there is some places in the CD that Jeremy sounds a little bit like Keith. Adding Jeremy has not changed their overall sound..... they are still have the same wonderful, tight harmony sound.

Just A Question.....
Am I the only one that owns BFA's "Real Faith." So far nobody but myself has commented on it.

I don't have it yet, but that's one that I'll buy at NQC. I'd like to have the production version with cover notes and all.
