My oldest nephew has me smiling today. He's going to be heading off to college on Friday (first time) and he knows having him leave home is going to be tough on his little sister so he's been taking her out on little dates the last week. And what really has me smiling is he's doing some of the things that I used to do with him when he was really little and I took him on our little dates.

I guess just seeing his tender heart towards his little sister really makes my heart smile.

Sometimes we focus so much on what we can not do in a child's life we forget how the little things impact them.........

Thank you for your smile Veronica...........It made me smile.

I have a fun smile to share.

The other night I was over at my DS & DDIL's, my DS was playing with his son- the kid loves being "squeezed" . He'd say "squeeze me Daddy!", and my DS would comply- putting his palms on either side of my grandson's head with his fingers meeting at the top of his head- and squeeze. My grandson would squeal with laughter then say "squeeze my back" and Ds would grab him in a big bearhug, etc. So after a bit of "squeezing", DGS was leaning against his Dad and said between laughs "Life is good Dad!". LOL! It was definitly a sweet moment!

Edited to add: Hey Rosie! Glad to hear life is going so great for you . I hope you have a wonderful year with "your kids".

Finally able to post makes me smile.............

Losing two simply wonder, beautiful post to error messages doesn't make me smile........

Wondering if maybe God was giving me a hint as to what I should or should not say by having me unable to post makes me smile with a curious smile.......or maybe a questioning smile...........

Laughing at hsgma's squeeze story is making me smile.

Thunder and lightening with plenty of rain for our dry landscape is making me smile.

Posting makes me smile

My Forums friends make me smile.

A video that Rach posted in forums showing a cat observing a clawdad made me smile this week.

Joy wondering if she could be more like Rachel made me smile, because Joy is full of awe and joy!

Isn't it funny how such a little thing just makes a heart turn over? He's 4, and still has that little boy voice- I am smiling just thinking about it again! It's a "kodak" moment for the ears!! LOL.

Seeing them grow up is wonderful and sad, isn't it? That "bitter-sweet" stuff they talk about, I guess. But seeing them turn into nice young men/women is so rewarding too- for Mom, aunts, friends, Dads, uncles... everyone that has input into their live, I guess!

Today I am smiling at the memories we made this weekend - I went shopping with my DDIL and the kids and decided to take my Gdtr home with me for the night. We had such a fun time.

Hey hsgm........I am very glad you had a wonderful weekend full of smiles........I did as well.........

It was really a great weekend...........I can't wait to share how God revealed his greatness........

quote:

Joy is full of awe and joy!
Thanks Mike..........I can't help it.........God really amazes me and even though I shouldn't be shocked when he reveals himself to me, since in my mind I know how great and amazing is he, each time I am. I am struck anew at who He is and how he works in and around my life.........

I know I say words like beautiful, great, amazing, wonderful........and to some it may seem as though those are just words which have been made avg. and every day to me but they are not...........I do speak them with awe and wonder.......God literally does blow me away..........I can't count how many times I have been left breathless by Him.

Some may think I am childish but I don't care.......cause I love that at 41 years old I can see life in all of it's wonder..........

Seeing life with the same excitement and awe as a child makes me smile and I pray I never grow up in that regard........

Life is indeed good daddy.........

Hey Rach ..........I have plenty of smiles if you want some............

One thing which makes me smile is seeing old names...........

I went to the thread Lion linked in the chat thread............

It is so interesting how things cycle so much..........

Knowing that though life never stands still and is always moving, changing, it always repeats itself. often with just different people, places and things...

I keep trying to post about what happened on Sat and never seem to have the time...........something else always comes up.......makes me wonder why? LOL

We are having our welcome back picnic this evening..........

The girls of course are coming.......they always have so much fun at the picnic.

Oh and guess what..........this is a huge smile and I am sure will make those of you who occasionally read what I write here laugh............

I have been looking into maybe taking a few classes.

In order to take a class (if I can work it out) I have to get accepted into the college, which meant, since I graduated so long ago I had to take a series of test.

I did so much better then I expected..........getting 98% or better on all the English test and 81% or better on all the math even the algebra/Trig test (honestly I had no clue what I was doing trying to figure out the x,y, and z's)..........but the one which is making me smile the most in relationship to posting on CW.

One of the test was on editing ability. The test was not a timed test but the test said to allow at least 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours to take it.

I was given several article with lots of grammatical, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure errors........to take the test I had to first read the articles and then correct the mistake plus change some correct sentences in order to make the paragraph flow more easily..........

I know people.......it is hard to believe reading my post here........but I got a 98% on the test and finished it faster ( according to the tester......less then an hour) then most people.......The tester was very impressed and to be honest so was I LOL

Just thinking about how well I did makes me smile.........

Isn't it kind of ironic that you have to be approved by your own place of employment???

Good evening fellow smilers!

I was thinking about something I wanted to share the other night when I was talking about my nephew leaving for college. The night before he left we were having a barbeque and my niece sat by me. I knew she was sad about him leaving and she started to tell me about it. I was thinking I was going to have a deep aunt/niece moment and then she said the reason why she was so sad is because she knows she's going to have to do all his chores now. He he! That just made me laugh!

Oh....and I'm still smiling from a wonderful evening of fellowship last night. We had a kayak and yak party and it was so much fun! It's amazing how just hanging around others who love the Lord can bring such refreshment to our hearts.

I am smiling big time.....(got my letters mixed up and almost wrote bug time).....lol

My sixth little child joined the class yesterday, and he was crying for the better part of the morning. Though, recess and the bikes really got him going. And then today he came in off of the bus with a big smile. And he made it through the lunch line w/out spilling his tray!

I get two more little ones in the beginning of Sept. Need to get their educational plan written and staffed! Which makes me smile! =0)

Well, i'm in the library for some books and a movie.....i still dont have internet or TV at home yet! So.....thinking about the books i'm going to get makes me smile!

Sweet dreamz dear ones!
