Oh and Anderson at 185 will be something! He has done it before but as one gets older it takes more out of ya to do such things. Go Dan!

To be honest, I thought the whole night was boring - not worth the money. Dana White needs to straighten up - he's losing too many good fighters. If he keeps refusing to let his fighters go up against fighters of other organizations, they are all eventually going leave (just like Randy). Did anyone see Kimbo Slice on EliteXC? That was pretty exciting.

Jens Pulver is fighting in the WEC lightweight division. I see Robbie Lawlor, Nick Diaz, Kimbo, Shamrock, and Renzo Gracie in XC. Cung Le, Bobby Southworth, Trevor Prangley, Fedor and Lindland are fighting for Bodog. quote:

Looks like the Hughes/Serra fight is off. I guess Serra suffered herniated discs in his lower back while doing a demonstration. Definitely bummed about this news I was really looking forward to this fight.

Hope Serra can come back, but in the meantime does this mean he is vacating his title or is UFC going to take it from him? Maybe a St. Pierre-Hughes rematch for the title? Something similar happened to Penn years ago. So who knows?

It looks like Hughes is going to fight St. Pierre for an interim title and then the winner is going to fight Serra. Yep,it's a done deal. I would like to see Hughes win, regain the title outright and retire. I really like St.Pierre,he is a very good fighter and his sportsmanship is good the mma. As Matt has said,"George will be around for awhile". Liddel and Silva should be a jim dandy doozy of a fight. Go Chuck!! I like Huerta against Guida on the 8th. Roger Huerta is a very exciting fighter. Always in shape and always improving his game.

Guida is always in impeccable shape and never stops looking and trying for the take down. His fight against Tyson Griffin was one of the best fights I have ever seen because it was non stop action the entire fight.

Thanks for the welcome. Too bad about Serra, I think he would have lost. That's cool that the date is still the same as the Hughes/Serra fight. Who do you guys think is going to win the Hughes/St. Pierre fight?

Who do you guys think is going to win the Hughes/St. Pierre fight? I'm hoping for Hughes and think he has a good chance of winning, but St. Pierre is a great fighter and will be very tough to beat. With all that being said I guess I'll have to pick Hughes, however I'm biased because Hughes is one of my favorite fighters.

I think Hughes wins if he stays with his main style. Ground and pound. He'll have a hard time taking down George but I think he'll eventually get him. If he tries stand up against George I believe George wins. I like both fighters. I'll go for the American over the Canadian.

Huerta and Gida were awsome! Truly an outstanding fight! Gida is absolutely carzy. I mean that in a good way. He's in excelent condition and totally focus on fighting. But my guy won. Huerta showed his ability to escape tight situations, overcome being hurt and in the end put his opponent away. Great fight. War machine also proved himself in a graet knock down drag out fight. Overall good night on Spike. Caught the replay when I Flipped over after watching Mayweather do away with Hatton.

Kudos to Huerta. He was losing the fight up until the third round and still found a way to win. You have to respect a fighter like that. I really enjoy watching Guida fight and respect him for his conditioning and tenacity.

Any thoughts on Michael Bisping dropping down to middleweight? Personally I don't think he is anywhere near the level of Anderson Silva or even Rich Franklin. He probably will be ranked in the top 10 but more than likely won't win the belt. Looking forward to this weekend. Go Hughes!

Hey, Hiker! I agree with your thoughts on Bisping-- he is definitely not on the same level as Anderson Silva or Rich Franklin right now. Don't get me wrong... I love Michael Bisping, but I honestly didn't think he was even ready to be one of the top Light Heavyweight contenders, which was being talked about before his fight with Rashad Evans (who I am not impressed with at all). I think Bisping's move to the Middleweight division will be good and down the road, with the right training, I think he can be a serious contender at 185. He definitely has a fighter's heart, and I'm always impressed with his determination and refusal to quit.

Okay, I'm picking Hughes over George, but only if Matt fights his traditional ground and pound. If Matt tries to go stand up with him, George will knock him out again. I like St Pierre but I want the title to stay in the US. I hope Chuck beats Silva. The more I think about it the more I think Silva will beat Chuck. Chuck has definately seen his better days. My suggestion is retirement.

I think Liddell can beat Silva, but after the losses to Jardine and Rampage, I think the retirement option looms larger for the Iceman... I expect Hughes to beat GSP; here's hoping Matt Serra can come back from the back injury!

I watched that fight last night between St. Pierre and Hughes. GSP is something man! He beats fighters at their own game! Hughes and his last opponet, Kroscheck, I believe his name is, both had championship wrestling backgrounds. GSP supposedly doesn't have a wrestling background. (I sometimes find that hard to believe) GSP was beating them at their own game. He dominated both opponets by quick takedowns and being savvy on the ground. He beat Hughes last night by submission. Nothing short of amazing.

GSP is awesome! I agree,George beta Matt at his own game. And Matt admitted George was the better fighter. Chuck was impressive but I still believe he's not far from retirement. Good night for the UFC.

Congratulations to GSP. He won the fight quite easily and beat Matt in all areas of fighting. Here are a few comments from Matt I found on his website. quote:
My match didn’t go like I thought it would at all. It seems I never got my gameplan started. Georges came in there and didn’t hesitate on anything, when he wanted to do something he did it and it seems when I wanted to do something, I thought about it and then I didn’t have the chance to do it. When you have a chance to do something, you just have to pull the trigger and do it right then and there. I’m going to take some time off and think about things. I’ve already talked to Dana and Lorenzo, and we’ll probably see what happens with Georges and Serra. And if Serra loses, I might go against him. Nothing is set in stone, just an idea right now. Like I said after the fight, I came in in shape with a good gameplan, I just didn’t execute. I want to thank everybody for their support, for the emails and mostly for the prayers. You have to respect a person who loses graciously. quote:
Chuck was impressive but I still believe he's not far from retirement. I agree.
