Have we gotten so far off in doctrine that we can't identify a false prophet/prophetess immediately? Apparently so.

I hate to say it, but when Ted Haggard's scandal came out, I wanted to give him the benefit of doubt. But I had no idea what he believed. It's hard to keep track of these guys. They are teachers seeking followers with itching ears.

Spurgeon's quote in my signature below says it all.

That fact that there would even be one person that finds it necessary to defend the teachings of many of the false teachers discussed here is sad. Most of their teaching is so far off, that it only takes 5 minutes of listening, watching, or reading to realize it. But as you said, it's amazing what "itching ears" will accept.

And on the other hand of whats sad, is the fact of " A Spirit of Distraction" or " Im into everybody else where I cant even see myself" has crept into the church.

She may preach false, while somebody else might be living a lie by quoting scriptures all day on the forums and whos to tell what life you are living behind it.

My thing is after you have exposed all the false preachers and prophets, make sure you can identify whats false in your own life. I am very very sceptical of people who always have the latest about others.

My thing is if you are truly doing what God told YOU to do on earth, How do you have time to know the latest information on everybodyelse? Something is wrong with this picture.

I have a problem with God telling us about everybody else ALL THE TIME.

I am not saying to not warn against false preaching or whatever, what Im saying is im seeing too much of this particular spirit in the Body of Christ where God is telling us about everybody else and we know the latest information about everybody else A LITTLE TOO MUCH- this is sad too, because ( though you might be telling the truth) but the devil uses this against us from not keeping ourselves before God.

And how do you know that others are living in this way?
We are told quite clearly in Scripture to expose what is false.
Also, it was be negligent of Christians to not be aware of what is going on around them.
We are not told to hide in our holes.

Just b/c some are knowledgable about such things does in no way mean that they are not living their lives clean before the Lord.

They in no way go hand-in-hand.

We are each held personally responsible.
And that includes being held responsible for not exposing lies.

The real distraction is that once false doctrine is identified, an attempt is made to attack those pointing out the false doctrine. But that's not really the topic, is it? That is, the lives of the posters aren't the topic. So, please don't try to make it the topic.

Juanita Bynum I think has a show in the afternoon on TBN or WORD network, one of those.

Right, and when we conclude that we are being attacked, alot times its just called " Im guilty".

If your guilty then gone head and say " ouch "

IF that were the topic. (Someone's favorite ox must be getting gored.)

As I said, that's not the topic. Let's not make it the topic. My response was in no way an evasion of sins on my part. But, the more blatant sins that she is involved in? No. I am not guilty.

Wow! She really did spend one million dollars on her wedding!!! It was noted in an article in Ebony Magazine.

I could not find a statement of faith. Her doctorate is an honorary doctorate from a Bible college in Florida. I could not find any "background" information concerning her theological training or educational background.

When I was first converted , I used to listen to a lot of the TBN
teachers/preachers ...... For about the first month or so I bought into it ......
Lock Stock and Barrel ..... Juanita Bynum was the most PROFOUND
speaker of truth I had ever heard .....

I hate to admit it but I used to hunt for her on the satelite ...... OH BOY .......

She speaks with SO much athourity .....

Thank God I saw the light .......

After a time of fasting and reading God opened my eyes .......

The First phoney I saw was Paula white , Then brother benny , then the Crouches ,
Then Un-Fortunately Ms. Bynum .....

Oh well , It should be no suprise ..... This was several years ago and unfortunately
I have friends and Family members that are just enamored with Juanita Bynum .....
As well as the others .......

Oh and she praobably got the honorable Dr. from Paula and Randys school
Im pretty sure they have a "school" for prophetic discipleship or something whacky
like that .......

That verse would only apply to those who are actually God's anointed, Called by Him and not set up by themselves.

she does not even have a real degree

We are in fact told to judge those who are within the church

1 Corinthians 5:12
What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
We are told to not simply believe everything that comes along, but test.

1 John 4:1

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 Thessalonians 5:21
Test everything. Hold on to the good.

The bereans even tested and studied for themselves Paul's preaching. Why should we not be doing the same, even with trusted teachers today?
Acts 17:11
Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

Contrary to what many believers believe, God is not just a God of love, HE is a God is justice.
God has not called us to go around hugging everyone, accepting everyone, even false doctrines.
Rather, HE calls us to test and try everything against His Word and to expose what is false.

Question:

If You are truly doing what God told you to do, how do you know the latest information on all these preachers??????

Nobody is saying we are not to call out falseness or believe everybody. Because I dont, I basically listen to the pastor assigned to my life. God has allowed me to see alot of false stuff going on, Firstly on Myself. not just with juanita but others including people on these forums- I dont say nothing ( unless God says) I just pray. God has trained me and is trainging me how to see things, but learning to wait on his instruction.

God has taught me that yes warn and we must not believe, and tell others.

but even when you get through warning others- which is good, the person ( juanita bynum) will still be in what you all claim falseness, So the most effective thing for Juanita is you getting on your face and ask God " to show herself" ask God to have mercy on her.

Lets face it unless God stops her she will be continuing to preach false ( as you all claim). Your not gonna be able to tell everybody she is false, some will believe and some will not. So the best thing to do is pray that God will get a hold on Juanita bynum, GET RID OF THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM THEN THE FRUIT WILL DIE- this is my main point. You cannot reach the whole world, so why not just pray that God will get a hold to juanita that nobody will follow ( what yall claim) her false teachings?

Your prayer changes things, and I do understand many are on here trying to warn others especially babes in christ- and thats okay.

Yet im learning how God operates, and one thing for sure he may show us things about others, but he will have us too busy making sure we are doing what he has called US to do.

And he does not have a person so busy with the latest information on others all the time. So thats why I ask how is it possible for you do be operating in your call while always having the latest on other people??? Im telling yall something is wrong with this picture.

maybe a few more will see what has been posted and not be decieved by her lies.

Wow, what a Travesty.

1 Timothy 4:16
Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

Titus 1:9
He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

interesting; however, i'm not certain that the "lives of the posters" can be seperated from the "doctrine/teachings/etc".
the topic, after all is "juanita bynum".

i must admit, i was like: wow, her website has absolutley no content, except 'i'm a singer and a book author'. and her husbands website wasn't much different. however, i too tend to be a little skepticle of those who would say: he/she is false, a wolf in sheep's clothing, etc etc and not be able to provide any source documentation.
i did see (1) link to an audio clip; am un able to listen to it presently. but i would imagine, that with the amount of certainty of the conclusions, much more would be available?

First, It needs to be shown that she is anointed. If she were God's annointed, her detracters would be dead. What's she going to do put a curse on us?

2nd. The original context of that OT quotation was applied to doing physical injury. No one here is trying to murder her.

3rd. Typically, the "touch not mine anointed" sounds all spiritual and stuff, but it's not. It's just a tactic. Nothing more. Lot's of false teachers try that.

4th. The word of God tells us to avoid false teachers and false prophets. I really don't know how we can do that unless we know who they are.

5th. These are often big time money making operations. Look how much they talk about money. The "touch not mine anointed" might turn off the money machine.

I am just so surprised, how we are talking about our sister in Christ! I just want to know for those who are against her, why don't you pray for her instead of talk about her.

Where has anyone said that they don't? I have stated a number of times that I continually pray that the spiritual eyes of these false teachers would be opened and that they would repent of their corrupted theology. I know others have too.

quote:

I agree with Chosen4Nations. I really feel that we should keep her name out of our mouths for the Bible says, "Touch not my annointed, and do my prophets no harm." It's not up to us to judge her, for we are gonna be judged one of these days by our Lord and Savior. For he is the only righteous judge. We are not to point fingers at someone else's faults, for we have faults of our own.

First off, please show me where she is "anointed"? Second, show me where she is a "prophet"?

I have yet to see anyone here judge Juanita Bynum, the person. What I have seen here are people doing what the Bible COMMANDS us to do and that is judge the teachings of any preacher/teacher/prophetess or whatever she calls herself.

Judging a person's faults and judging somone's teaching are two totally different things. Despite what WoF teachers say and their naive followers echo, no one is so "annointed" that judging their teaching against Scripture is off limits.

quote:

The best way to help someone is, if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all. Please pray for one another, not put down on one another because of a lack of understanding. If I don't know something about a person, I don't go on what he say and she says. For I have found out they don't know them. You have to know a person for yourself. Just like you have to experience a one on one relationship with the Lord for yourself, in order to know him.

Enough audio, video, and written evidence has been provided throughout this and other threads, that there should be NO lack of understanding. I have watched Ms Bynum FIRST hand, and without a doubt, she is a fraud, a con artist, and a FALSE prophet(ess)!

Interview on TBN at the beginning of 2006. Juanita Bynum prophecies about 2006. Most of it is vague and general so there's no way to know if the prophecies have happened. Except for the part about "sleeper (Christian) spies" in the government coming forward. But it is mostly the same stuff that you hear all the time. A lot of encouragement, but it's always the same. Believer's will rise up, revival, you're going to have a breakthrough, etc. Nothing wrong with this, but it's the same every year. Why do you have to be a prophetess to tell people what they already know? Only watch it if you have extra time.

well, first of all if you listen it is very plain that she is saying things that are not in God's Word.
Research.

WE are not told to sit around and accept everyone and everything that comes along!!
Hebrews 13:9
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them.

And we are told to expose!!

Ephesians 5:11
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

Apparently there are people who are so steeped in these people's doctrines that they are angry that we say anything negative about them. I really see very little attempt to be discerning. If they are "true prophets," every single thing they say will be true.

Typically, before we accept any word that they are a "prophet," show us their true prophecies, not their claims. Claims mean nothing. Don't tell us that you've been "blessed" or "edified" (typically very subjective). Show us objective criteria.

We are supposed to question and examine them. If you don't think we should, then I am sorry. I evaluate them by their doctrines and teachings and lives, not their claims.

Beware of false prophets...you will know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:17, 20)

Graham - its hard when you really love these people and then all of a sudden, you read some criticism/truth about the person you really love,or to be disappointed to have put your faith in someone and then only to have the rug pulled out from under you.. People are just recovering from that blast of truth/criticism. I myself have felt sad to have to pull away from a few people who I thought were so fabulous, but yet were not teaching the truth. I still try to rationalize and see if going to listen to them will hurt me since I'm pretty discerning and think the bad stuff wont be able to sink in my stubborn head. Its hard to face the fact that I need to let them go.. and do I need to do that? so its a tiny battle in my mind what to do.

I understand your sadness.

It is what is happening in our times. It used to be that if someone said they were a Christian, you mostly knew what they meant. I really hate it that we have to examine their doctrines with a fine-toothed comb instead of just taking their word for it.
