I just got a call!
The news is good... sounds bad... but is good!
The aneurysm is actually located very close to Dave's right temple... and it is huge.
The doctor will be able to operate next week.
They will operate on his head instead of going through his leg...
.... he will be home in less than a week after his surgery! 
Last time they cracked his head open... he was in the hospital for about a month... but it sounds like they won't have to crack his skull... (sorry for not knowing the exact details!  )
What is happening between now and surgery:
the doctors (devoted secretaries actually  ) are scrambling to gather every bit of past information they can from all the various doctors Dave has been to...
Dave is going in for a few more tests in preparation for the surgery.
Ideas for prayer:
... that the doctors will have all the information they need in order to perform a successful surgery.
... for strength, wisdom and steady hands for the doctor.
... for peace for Dave.
... for safety in Dave's travels as he goes for his pre-op tests. (the hospital is 2 hrs away from his house.)
Praise the LORD!

...... we don't know the details of the surgery yet... He is still at the hospital... (I didn't go with him because I don't really have time off from my job available yet...)
We should find out soon...

I talked with Dave last night...
They were able to do all the pre-tests while he was there yesterday!! woot! :D
There will be two neurosurgeons doing the procedure... they are both top guys.
Both neurosurgeons love Jesus!!!
The operation will happen on Tuesday... we don't have an exact time yet...
One of the surgeons is going to research all his past MRI's in order to see if anything needs to be done with the other brain tumor... FINALLY!! A man who is serious about Dave's health! :D
I'm going to put in some extra hours this week so I can get time off next week... I can't really afford to take off without pay...
The hospital is in Louisiana... so there will be an added cost for me to stay in a hotel at least one night (I just remembered... I'll have to take the girls... I don't have anyone to watch them.)
Can you guys pray that God will bless the financial details for our family? Dave's costs are covered by the VA. The costs which need to be covered are gas money, etc...
....
Cool news... I finally got my jail mail forwarded.... I got 5 letters last night!!! I'm excited to respond to them!!! I'm excited to see which verses the LORD will have me put in my responses... He always has the best things to say!!
One of my inmates is a lifer in Florida... he doesn't have Jesus in his heart... yet. ;o) He is thinking and talking about Jesus... he is on his way... in his own time... thank you LORD. If you'd like to pray for an inmate's salvation... than pray for Brian Smith.

Is Brian in Starke? If not, where is he located? I'm wondering, cause my church does a ton of jail ministry and if he's in our area - maybe I can get some of my folks to interact too - if not, at least just pray.

.... I only have a couple of minutes to post... I've been in a meeting all morning... and have much to do for my boss today!
I told Dave about all the people who are praying for him... and for us... he is truly blessed.
Yesterday evening... his church gathered around him and anointed him with oil and laid hands on him and prayed for him and us...
There is a couple from church who is taking Dave today to the pre-checkin unit... he will spend the night there... they just want to make sure they know where he is the night before surgery.
As far as I know....
The girls and I will be spending the night at Dave's house (it will be weird because he won't be there...) and then I (or we depending on where the girls want to be) will be driving another 2.5 hours to the hospital on Tuesday morning. As of right now... I still don't have any information about what time the surgery will be...
Dave is sooo awesome... he's excited to get the surgery over with... all he can think about is how the surgery is holding him back from being able to participate in prison ministry! 
I will post again today (hopefully) with more information before I leave work for the day...
There seems to be a lot going on this week...
Other news... a dear childhood friend of mine... who works in antarctica.... her mother passed away a few days ago, apparently in her sleep... my friend isn't able to come home for the funeral... she has a broken relationship with Jesus and is taking her mother's death VERY hard... please pray for Kimber.
Also... my prison ministry mentor, Bill... is in the hospital for heart problems today... I talked with him yesterday... and he really had a terrible feeling about going in for the procedure... I'm not exactly sure what the doctors are doing to his heart.... pray for Bill.
I am reading a book by Max Lucado.... When God Whispers Your Name... I'm in a chapter which reminds us that we will never be happy here on earth... a new couch won't make me happy... I'll just want one more thing... a new house won't make me happy..... I'll just want a better one... why? because we were NOT created to live here on earth... we were made to live with Jesus in heaven... our hearts will not ever be truly satisfied until we are living in heaven with him... until we go home.
Life is so short, my friends. We are only here for a short while... reminding ourselves of this is sooo important. We will never be able to create a 'heaven' here for ourselves.... only Jesus can handle that department....
What we can do... is to tell others how to get to heaven.... and wait patiently for our ride home.
