I don't attend a church because I firmly believe that church is something the people who follow Jesus are, not a place they go. That's very real to me.

I understand what you are saying, but do you fellowship with other Christians? If so, what denomination is closest to your beliefs? I do fellowship with other believers, but as far as what denomination is closet to my beliefs, boy that is a tough question. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but because I think the very notion of having denominations is flawed, I have a hard time answering that. I guess the church that is closet to my beliefs is the church in Jerusalem in Acts and probably the churches Paul and John wrote to. I'm just following Jesus and have found that is much simplier than we have made it out to be. I don't have much use for the man-made add ons. They just get in the way.

Sammy, I'm a bit confused. From reading your comments on the Calvinist/Arminian thread, you are Reformed in your thinking. You have defended the Calvinist position on more than one occasion. With that in mind, how can you worship with Pentecostals? And as far as speaking in tongues goes, you won't find that practiced in a Reformed Church, whether it be Baptist or Presbyterian or the Chistian Reformed Church. Don't be offended at my inquiry. Should you not want to respond, that's ok too. I just tried to picture a Chrisitan with Reformed thinking worshipping with Pentecostals. Spose one could call that Reformacostal, or Pentecalvinist, or Calvacostal, or Pentetulip, or ..... Just kiddin' with ya! HD

Calvary chapel. If there was a Reformed church around here i would switch in a heartbeat. i dont care much for the seeker-sensitiveness of this CC.

I believe much the same way as HeavenDweller! I see no need for all the division and separation within the Body of Christ. I realize some churches started because they were thrown out of the Roman Catholic Church during the Reformation and others formed in the United States after it was discovered. But, I see the church being greatly hindered by the division. As I believe anyway, we all share the same legacy if we are truly Christians. From Adam to Abraham to Solomon to Jesus Christ to the Reformation all the way to now! And we must take the good with the bad. We need a true revival and reformation today to bring us back together and that's my prayer for Christ's church. Having said all that; I'm a Seventh-day Adventist.

The sign says Baptist, but we have all denominations in our church as well. Could you imagine if we could get the truth from all the denominations together. Sift through all the man-made doctrines....Wow! what a powerful Church...Worshipping in Spirit and Truth!
