....so far its a great book. I previously read and loved God.net by him as well.
Been reading some old Ben Bova sci-fi books.
Question?
Can anyone recommend NON-FICTION christian books that are not so make you puke joyful? I mean, I need the book to be comtempory and littered with hardships and failures. Where the writer shares stories of how they fail to hear God or missinterpret his message. And how they often go through periods of anger at God, only to get pass it and see the lesson God had. So many christian sef-help books seem to have experiences of unrealistic joy and realization with virtually no perspective about how easy it is to fall short of listening to God. They will make the statement "Jesus is great"...then seem to repeat that over and over in different ways throughout the book. Yeah, I get that, I need something that doensn't turn me off cause it seems "too perfect of a personal experience" where people say "swell" and "golly gee" :)

"Let The Nations Be Glad" by John Piper.
Great book on missions.
missions exist for one purpose, worship!
it outlines the rewards of suffering for the sake of Christ.
John Piper makes it clear, there is no country that is "closed" to missions if you are willing to suffer "take up you cross"
he uses paul as a great example of this. paul boasted in the cross! and counted all things as loss to gain Christ!
i suggest this book to anyone. but particularly to the person who is turning from the call to missions for fear of suffering. this book will give you boldness to Glorify God in your life and death.

I'm currently reading Rich in Every Way by Gene Getz and Reversed Thunder by Eugene Peterson. Both are great!

I'm currently reading Mike Evan's "The American Prophecies" and, of course, the Bible.
I noticed where someone said they were reading "1984". That's a good book for seeing the direction America is heading

I just finished Judgement Day by James F. David. If anyone can tell me about the book I will be glad to hear it because I am confused. I also finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Right now I am trying to find a good science fiction book. If you have any suggestions please post them. I am really into the Bible right now and am reading John.

I am currently reading the book Garden of Shadows by V.C. Andrews. It is really good so far but I am upset that someone ripped about 10 pages out of the book. In the last book I read one page was ripped out. I think it was a sex scene. Anyways the book is good and the series is good all except for the fact that there is way to much incest.

Aquinas for armchair theologians.......very interesting makes me want to read Summa Theologica for myself. Also two or three fiction/mystery novels. I have found reading multiple books at once to be a great outlet for my ADD

I have just finished reading what l consider to be the most thought-provoking book I have read for some time. Rod Paisley's SILENT NO MORE, addresses many important issues that the family of faith has not pointedly addressed. I found it very informative and challenging.

I'll probably pick up where I left off on "The B*ndage of the Will" by Martin Luther soon.
Oh...and I'll probably finish "Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners" also, which is by John Bunyan.
