It's Earnings That Count by Hewitt Heiserman

I'm also reading the Enron financials for their last several years.

I guess it could be looked at like penance.

I'm currently reading Young Men and Fire by Norman Maclean. I'm sure it's way more interesting than the Enron financials.

Crankius, without spoiling it, what is "Young Men and Fire" about? It sounds like an interesting titile.

In short, it's about a Montana forest fire that killed 13 smokejumpers in 1949.

So far, the book is a historical account--giving lots of background info on smoke jumping and fires. Just for your info, Norman Maclean's most famous work was A River Runs Through It.

I might have to check that one out.

I'm between books right now, spending a lot of my spare time working on a cross-stitch I want to get hung in our diningroom.

He's very modern...and dense (as in a lot going on) sometimes. I never really feel close to his characters because they are so detached. This is only my second book of his (first was Pattern Recognition).

I'm kind of Eh about it but for the '80s it was very imaginative about the concept of cyberspace and computers.

Larry Niven is one of my favorite sf authors. After you finish the Ringworld books, try the Smoke Ring books. Or the Man-Kzin War books.

Right now I'm reading "Taliesin", book one of Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle.

You're going to love that one, Bill. I read it when it first came out about 15 years ago.
