OK, enough of me tooting my own horn.

Full credit goes to God, who planted this in me, and orchestrated events so that I would have the opportunity to develop this talent.

In the end, it's all to glorify Him.

Thanks for the welcom cammo, and thanks for stopping by the dugout.

Speaking of folk artists - I'm listening to Rich Mulllins right now, and whenever I hear the dulcimer, that's what I think of - the folk artists out there. How I would LOVE to learn to play the dulcimer......

I had a dulcimer built for me about 30 years ago. I still have it but the glue that held it together has turned to powder and I need to have it rebuilt.

Playing the dulcimer is fairly easy since it is tuned modally, the two melody strings are tuned to the same note. And the other two strings are tuned to a note that is a third or forth of that note. And when you play it, you only fret the melody strings and the other two play the same note as a drone. It is simular to the drone notes of a bagpipe.

Oh, that's very cool to know. A friend has one (like what Rich played) and when I first saw it, I went crazy! I goofed around on it a bit, but nothing special. Still it was a blast to do that. I'll have to see if I can find one, one of these days - maybe something to learn in my old age......

I'll have to dig through this thread at 9:30 tomorrow night then to see what's happened!

I have a full day at TAFE tomorrow (Kinda like a technical college) as in from 9am - 9pm (in other words, pretty full on).

Hey Trishy - just got finished talking with my pastor after church tonight - wow, who would have thought that a life principle would come out of studying the Abrahamic Covenant. It was amazing, and SO God ordained!

Cammo - how was school?

Well, PTL for this - I'm actually feeling exhausted after two rather sleepless night of wrestling with the Lord. Now that this has hopefully been finished, I will sleep. I need to sleep. I'm actually going to bed shortly. I know I won't hear from him, so it's not a problem.

Sorry to quote myself here, but literally, as I hit okay to submit this, he called. We talked for over an hour. It was good, it was hard, it was tearful, it was hopeful, it was frustrating. But, we talked and will continue to talk - that's been the basis of this relationship from the beginning. I just ask for prayer to keep me focused on what God can and will do here. I told him that though I love him to death (his quote to me first), even he wasn't worth risking my relationship to the Lord.

So, there you have it. Oh, and yeah, I slept - very hard for nearly 6 hours. It was good.

Thanks for the hugs everyone - I do need them. I broke down talking to my pastor last night - and he's been my pastor for 14 years. He's never seen me like this, and he's never heard me say what I did last night. I feel completely broken because of this man - and I will continue to be broken, for no one is worth losing my relationship with the Lord. Please just pray for him - as he said that what I told him has definitely given him a lot to think about, he he's still doing everything in his own power, and not relying on the Lord for guidance. Pray that I can help get his focus back to where it needs to be. I do love him with all my heart and only want to see the best happen for him - if that means being with someone else and not me? Then I have to know that is what the Lord wants. While I don't believe this is the case, I also have to realize that he has his own free will and can choose with whom he wants to be. If he doesn't ultimately choose me, then I will deal with that when the time comes. Until that time, though, I am trusting and believing in what I know to be true and holding onto that. I can do nothing less.

Lisa, I typed a response, but somehow lost it.

I know now isn't the easiest time for you. I hope this doesn't come across as cliched as I'm speaking to myself too. God has plans for us. He works everything for our own benefit, even when we don't feel like it. Things that draw us even closer to Him. You're putting God first, and that's great. It seems that God may be trying to draw him even closer, and you too. Hang in there. You can do this. It's hard, but you've got God on your side.

There were some other things I wanted to say, but I can't think for the life of me what it was.
