Sorry you're ill, Mike.

Favored Attendant has been on vacation all week. It hasn't been as bad as I'd anticipated, but I'll be happy to see her Monday night. Houdini, Ms Fingernails and Enthusiastic One have all been filling in during her hours.

Hopefully you'll be feeling really good when Deb and I can get into Boston to take you to lunch. That would be sometime following next week.

Deb's wheelchair is still scheduled for repairs next Wednesday. Whether permitting we might try to trip into Boston on Thursday, but probably not on Friday because we hope to go to a church family picnic on Saturday. It's being held in Holbrook, which we can get to with the RIDE paratransit service. Other years it was held in a town we could only get to via transfer to another paratransit service, so we only got there once.

Thanks John, hopefully it will be fixed real soon! As far as the cold, I am not counting on being 100% by the end of the week, it is just how these things with me go.

However, do enjoy the picnic on Saturday, I hope you and Deb have a lot of fun!

It will be good to get extra fellowship, since we can't get to midweek meetings. We keep trying to start a Bible Study at our apartment. So far, no one seems interested.

Actually, our church has many active Bible Study groups. I meant that no one seems interested in forming a group with me and John.

I'm sorry no one has wanted to join you for a Bible study.

Right after my last post our internet went out. I decided to leave and do some errands. Sorry I missed you.

I'm back on for however long it lasts. This is getting frustrating. It seems to be the worst on weekends when there's no one in the office to call and register a complaint with.

It's a local provider called Logonix. I'd like to stay with them if we can, the owner is a friend of ours and we've invested in the wireless equipment. I think they're just going through some growing pains right now.

Are you feeling better today?

Hi everybody.

Church went pretty well today. Deb urged me to mention a home Bible study to one of the new guys at church who always takes time to chat with us on Sundays. He liked the idea. His wife as yet doesn't come regularly to church and he's not sure she'll want to come to a Bible study but we can pray for that.

A couple of brand new people also talked with us for a bit and we got their names and phone number. They don't live too close so they might not be interested in a Bible study at our apartment, but we'll encourage them to try one closer to their home.

Deb reminded me to put the Bible study on the prayer chain and maybe smebody will be interested. I'll try to do that.

Excellent idea! We're going to pray for your bible study here also. God will bring the right people into your home.

Thanks, James.

I'll be glad to start a Bible study with even just one other person. It'll be nice if more than that from church want to join. Once it gets going maybe one or more of our neighbors in the apartment building will be curious enough to accept an invitation to drop in.

Btw, I really like your signature lines on faith and obedience. Good thoughts.

Isn't it interesting how often people want to accomadate those who need it most the least? I have a severely disabled sister, (she's 28, but at a 4month level..way more disabled than you or John), and there have been so many times that we have been expecting to bend over backwards, accomodate, or minister to someone else, while at the same time the same people expecting SO much of us, didn't acomodate our needs for how much more inconvenient it is for us to get places if we all try to go, that we get worn out from taking care of her, and that just like moms of toddlers, we need a break too every once in a while.

As far as Bible studies, can any group in your church who wants to put one together? Cause in our church, the elders have to approve it, although they usually do.

It is good to be in a church where there are elders who care who leads a Bible study. In some churches anybody can do anything they feel like doing and that can lead to some groups going off on a tangent that little or no sound Scriptual doctrine.

I think elders at our church have heard me teach Sunday school often enough to be fairly sure I won't get a cult started in our home Bible study group.

By the way, welcome OneOfHisJewels! I'm originally from California, too. I moved here six years ago from Marin County, which I miss terribly. Are you comfortable saying what part of California you're in?

Thanks. If he grows much more I'll need a higher step stool and we'll need to add to the door frame .

I used to wear high heels. Thirty years of hospital floors and lack of coordination have made me change my footwear. I'd probably break an arm if I tried to wear them now.
