I'm sorry James. Praying for you and your family.

We went to my mom's today since I had to work on Mother's Day. It was a beautiful day for a drive. I saw lots mama geese with their little goslings swimming behind them. I know they're messy birds, but they sure are cute from a distance.

I like to watch them, but I've heard they can be pretty aggressive. They also leave huge droppings. My sister's subdivision has geese in their lake. You just about can't go out and enjoy the area around the lake because of the messes the geese leave.

Someone thought that Tooshy and myself were newlyweds when they saw us walking together holding hands. They were amazed to find out that we've been married for almost 29 years.

That's sweet, Ray. Merv and I still hold hands after 29 years of marriage too.

Thanks guys.

I just remember all those years I was single, and how hard it was to watch my married friends. Not that I begruded them, but I needed them to be careful about too much affection when I was with them. I feared that I'd never marry, even though marriage was the desire of my heart. So I want to be sensitive to singles now that I am married. KWIM?

I guess we need to be balanced in regards to showing affection to one another when around other people. Too much and it might cause envy, not enough and some folks may wonder if the two are really married or still want to be married.

And, James, my heart goes out to you and your mom and the rest of your family. The loss of a lady who is both a mother and grandmother can be exceptionally painful. I know you are all going to miss her terribly.

Lord, be with James and all his family during this time of tears and loss.

Better than most, Trish. I'm not fond of weekends, except for church, but this one wasn't really bad. How was yours?

I always appreciate couples who aren't afraid to be affectionate. The only time it bothers me is when you feel like saying, "Get a room"... if you know what I mean...

I know what you mean, Kristin. Usually, I make myself scarce, rather than have to watch.

Well, we'll try to behave then!

Okay, I'm trying to think up a good topic to liven up this thread. But not having any ideas. Can anyone help me out?

Actually, it seems to me as if most of the threads that I frequent are quieter than usual. Has anyone else noticed? Ben and Denny are taking breaks, which accounts for some of the quietness. But maybe some people here feel, as I do, that there's not much to say lately. I'm sure this quiet spell will pass, but it's sure awkward at the moment.

Yeah, true. But with some people, there's just not much to say. Right now, I'm spending some time talking with two of my friends about some issues, and don't know if I really have much to talk about otherwise.

But, of course, if it's too quiet, I can find my stash again.

I just couldn't log-in at work today because our ISP was down all day...

Let me tell you... Lunch seems to drag on forever when I can't hang out with my buddies around here...

My wife and I ate supper at a local sports bar and grill. They have dozens of TV monitors with various sports-related TV shows on at the same time.

Sitting across from each other, she could see monitors of shows that I couldn't, and vice-versa. She was explaining a show that she could see and I could not. It was some extreme sporting event involving acrobatic wheelchairs and a skateboarding park.

Her expressions of the action were quite animated. Apparently they were doing some spectacular things with wheelchairs.

Have I ever told you I played wheelchair softball Senior Year of high school? Okay...it was closer to T-ball than softball, but we didn't know that. It was so much fun!

One big reason the threads may be quieter at the moment is due to the fever...spring fever!

People are getting outside and enjoying the fresh air, sunshine, and blooming flowers and trees.

Once our chairs get repaired there will be days when a certain couple I know who both use wheelchairs will be off to the Boston Public Garden and elsewhere to enjoy the weather.

Speaking of wheelchairs, the teenager at church who is in a wheelchair has played wheelchair basketball with a team of adults in wheelchairs. Way cool.

She's quite a talented young lady, too! During summers, she sings in our praise group.

Hi Deb and John. I've been outside tending to our flowers and little tomato plants.

Cynthia posted a link to the Eagle webcam on the homeschool chat thread. You can see the newly hatched chicks here.
