I saw Enchanted. Didn't think much of the evil stepmother-to-be, but it was good other than that.

Great photos, Mike! The shots of the Golden Gate Bridge stretching into the Marin Headlands put a lump in my throat, though....I still miss home.

Today has been nice. Our lady was a no-show, but that gave me extra time in bed (off my sit-spot) till my friend from church could come get me up. This friend is really funny, and brings out my warped side, so I enjoyed seeing her. Then John's mom came over for lunch, and we gave her Mother's Day gift to her. The card had the picture of John that he's using as his avatar, which made her happy.

Now I'm here, looking forward to chatting with whomever I find. Yup...it's a good Saturday after all!

Nope, it ended overnight, and we've had a beautiful day today!

I've got my screen door open, and I'm relaxing in the nice, warm temps. I'm SO glad to be back in shorts and t-shirt again!

I'm enjoying having a little free time this weekend. Going over to a friend's house tonight for a reception for her, celebrating her M Div at Duke this weekend. Heck, if she can get a master's at around my age, I can too.

I know that if I end up taking psych as an undergrad (which is what I'm considering), I'll need grad school to get a decent job. But that's okay. I'm weird, I LIKE school!

What's weird about liking school? I didn't like exams, but I enjoyed school itself. Although I didn't admit it at the time, I liked writing term papers for Sister Nicholas' English classes. Especially Victorian Lit. Of course, typing was less strenous on me than it is now...

Well, a lot of my friends don't have good memories of school, even though a good number of them have advanced degrees. My idea of fun is several classes in subjects I like, like history or psych, and lots of time to read and talk about the subjects. My instructors seem to like how I act in classes.....I WANT to talk about our subject!

Sister Martin had to tell me to pipe down in Literary Criticism so others could talk.

Yeah, sometimes I have to restrain myself so others get a turn.

I even enjoyed Spanish class! Of course, I did a lot of griping, 'cause it's one of the subjects I really have to work at! (when I told Pastor J that I got an A in Spanish on my report card, he just rolled his eyes and grinned at me......)

Yep. I'm physically and emotionally tired right now, and I'm grateful to have a few weeks without homework. I'm trying to get some extra sleep and reading time. Fall will be here soon enough.

As young children we all loved learning new things. Many lose that love of learning as they older, but that's a shame. Of course even most of those who don't like school per se still want to learn about whatever they happen to be interested in, whether it's their hobby, sports team, or favorite author.

I never made it to college but loved english comp and science classes in high school. And loved discussing things with the teachers...especially if I'd learned something (from extra research on the subject) that the science teacher didn't know.

Let's all keep learning things that are worth learning.

You got THAT right!

I'm now listening to Bryan Duncan, one of his older albums: "Anonymous Confessions of a Lunatic Friend". Brother can ROCK!

Okay, still hungry. Maybe I'd better eat that apple, since I've gotten my plants taken care of.....I have my geraniums in a hanging basket on my back porch, hooray!
