Yes!

Sorry about your health problems, but I'm glad that at least they are minor ones.

I just got a new camera and am having a lot of fun playing with it. I gave my old one to Joe, and he's already discovered things it can do that I never knew about. He doesn't even have the manual, but he does have a knack with electronics. We've been taking lots of pictures of each other taking pictures.

Sounds fun, Sue. Our little camera is on its last legs, I'm afraid. I hope we can make it last the summer, since we really can't afford a new one right now.

Ray, after clicking on the link in your post I suddenly got to thinking how it's been quite some time since I've enjoyed fried clams. I'll have to do something about that sometime in the coming weeks.

But I won't dine with that Walrus or Carpenter...might not get even a nibble with the two of them around.

Maybe somewhere in Boston by the harbor there would be a place with some good fried clams.

He seems to know his way around Boston restaurants, so Mike's the man to ask!

I don't like clams, but shrimp would be good.

I've often wondered whether shrimp tend to have an inferiority complex when others talk about them.

Did you get to see the picture of me with my family? I'm definitely a shrimp. It doesn't offend me. I like to laugh when tall people forget to duck in low places. OK, I'm not really that mean, but I do like to point out to them that being short has certain advantages.

I've never had fried clams, so I'd like to try them. I like most seafood, though, so I'm pretty sure I'd like fried clams. I like trying new things. That's another reason why this diet is such a bummer.

I did see that photo, Sue. Of course, John and I are both short because we sit all the time!

I like most seafood, but not clams or oysters. Maybe I've never had good clams. They were always tough and chewy and sometimes a little gritty.

I don't know. I've only had the canned stuff. It was OK, but not a favorite. I'm sure what I've had is nothing like the real thing.

You inspired me. We're having leftover steak for supper and I decided to have some popcorn shrimp with it. BTW, I'm using the term "steak" loosely here. I bought some very cheap meat and tenderized it. It's sort of like shoe leather, but the flavor is good.

I just tried to take some pictures of our dog with the new camera. If you go to the joke thread in singles and read one of the more recent posts about trying to take a picture of a puppy, you'll have a pretty good idea of how that went. Unfortunately, our dog isn't even a puppy. She's 8½ years old.

Wow...you go to the Singles Folder? I'd feel unwelcome there. Wish I had your courage!

Only to read the the joke thread. I got started on it before I saw it was in singles. I've only posted in the thread once or twice to comment on a really good joke. I always note that I'm not single, but do lurk in that thread. It's not against the rules to go in there as long as you're not picking on them.

Some of their topics sound so interesting...maybe because I was single for so long.

Supper's ready...see you tomorrow!

I'm glad I'm getting a new wheelchair battery soon, though. My chair can't handle as much as it did last year, so it was going pretty slowly that last quarter mile after we got off the bus in our town. But the doctor faxed the prescription for repairs to the wheelchair company Wednesday, so as soon as Medicare and MassHealth give the nod, they'll come fix the chair. Then...look out Boston!

Is that going to be like a jet propelled wheelchair?

Just thought I'd let you know that Jake called!!!!! He could only talk for a couple of minutes, but at least we know he made it. He said we'd be getting some kind of packet from the Army soon to explain things to us. He's in what's called reception until next Thursday and then basic will start full force. That means the soonest he could graduate would be mid July.

I remember going to see my brother. He used to live in Maryland not too far from Baltimore. We had crab cakes.

Hi Deb!!

Haven't been by in a while ... I checked out your new portrait - very nice!! I love portraits.

I think artwork needs lots of time. Time to visualize it in your mind. Time to do the work. Time to go back and put in the details. Time to make it just right.

Hopefully Mike can give you and John a good suggestion for having fried clams.

Wow, thanks for all the visits! Delightful!

Sue, thanks for letting us know that Jake called. You obviously feel reassured. It's good that you'll be sent a packet explaning more about what he'll be doing. Knowing what's going on always makes me feel better.

I'm struggling with my attitude toward Saturdays. The new Saturday attendant just isn't going to work out, mostly because her health makes it hard for her to work as quickly as I need her to. I don't want to share details over the Internet, but her slowness is affecting my health. Additionally, she has some attitudes that reveal she sees us as "patients" rather than employers, even though MassHealth had her sign a paper agreeing to recognize me as her employer.

Anyway, I'm learning to really hate Saturdays. I feel very threatened by them, especially because I see a toll on my health as a result. Yet, "this is the day that the Lord has made!" He wants me to rejoice and be glad on Saturdays, not to grumble and complain. And especially in these forums, since I don't know if non-believers read my posts. While it's good to be real about my feelings, I also want attitudes that honor the Lord. So I need prayer...and encouragement to see Saturdays as days that He has made for me to rejoice and be glad.

Will you folks encourage me toward more godly attitudes?
