Y'all, why did y'all stop? Huh? Common do you really take all that thou shelt not kill stuff seriously? Even if we are killing this poor soul, I think God will understand, Actually it has been so long, no one has like posted anything here in like Forever, that I am sure that Desert_ratt is as healthy as ever again and heck desert_ratt is likely out in the desert somewhere buried in the sand. So y'all keep this forum alive! Heck, think of it this way, by stopping adding post, you will KILL this thread. Oh that would be horrible, so it is either killing desert_ratt or killing this thread, I think the greater evil would be killing the thread. You must take this seriously now! This thread is crying out and was buried under the newer post, sufficating and left forsaken, I thought it was gone forever, but I found the poor thread, barely alive and I believe we can nurse it back to health. Are you with me?

Today while eating animal fruit snacks, the conviction hit like love bugs hits my car on my trips from New Orleans to Texas. Suddenly I was reminded of my childhood when I would make blood, guts and gore sounds while gnawing on the elephants trunk, biting off the rhino's head, and slowly nibbling off the lions tail.
Oh what horrible things i did as a child, and why? Because our snacks were shaped like animals. This is encouraging animal cruelty! This is teaching children to torture our pets, this is serious business. Did you not read in the news the other day that two kids cooked their cat alive in the oven? Well, i am sure you did not know, but my friend this is because of animal cookies!
So with your help we can put a end to this evil. With technology I have made it were once this important message is copied to your e-mail sent and signed by 1,000,000 concerned people, it will arrive in President Bush's office, and He can pass a law to outlaw snacks being shaped like animals. (If someone can forward this to PETA I am sure they will help we reach that million signatures sooner)
If you do not sign below and send this to everyone in your address book, your dog will get ran over by a truck and your cat will get cancer. Now don't you care about your pets? Yes you may think you can press delete without anyone knowing. But God is watching you, and by pressing delete you show that you don't care about God's creation and He will judge you.

Wow. I guess I'll have to be a bit more discreet about munching on animal crackers in church. Animal cracker popping will just be another one of those "embarrassing hidden habits" that I allow few people to see.

Moving on to another subject: I'd like to talk about John the Baptist. Most people assume this to mean that he baptized people, but he is not called "John the Baptizer." It's John the Baptist. Thus Baptists have been proclaiming the gospels long before all the other denominations were around. I'm partial to the slogan: "Baptists: proclaiming the gospel since AD 30." I'm actually not a Baptist, but I thought this should be brought up. Sorry if non-Baptists are offended by this, but hey, it's in the King James Bible.

My Pastor told me I needed to be other centered, and not just think about myself, but how I can help others and after church I was praying for God to help me understand how to be a doer of the word and not just a hearer. And opened my bible and read where Jesus said to cut out our eye if it causes us to sin, and I was thinking about how I could help others out with this, cuz if their judging us all the time and as Jesus put it, telling us we have a speck in our eyes, then surely they have a bad eye, so I was thinking we could cram a 2 by 4 into their eye, and do them the favor so they don't have to remove it themselves and then we can tell them they have a plank in their eye, and be speaking the words of Jesus.

I have been reading the story of David to my 6 year old son and was reading through 1 Samual 18 last night, and it was the story of how in order to get married to king Saul's daughter Michal, David killed 200 Philistines and cut off their foreskins and layed them before Sauls feet and counted them all before him, and I tried to read quickly through this part, but my son had to stop me, and ask me what foreskins were. Umm.... I did not know what to say. I told him to ask his mother and kept reading. Do you think this was the right thing to do? I mean.... yeah what would you do in a situation like this?

That's a groaner!

Here's one:

Is it a sin to post the same thing in every current events thread?

(Can you tell I was just reading through that folder.... )

It would show a total lack of imagination.

Folder: Church (I guess... Some of these outrageous topics are too outrageous to categorize --there should be a Christian Numbskull theo thread!)

I spent three days standing on the street corner in our town with my rod, fishing for men, but I only caught three hats, a wig, and a briefcase, and even lost my best lure when I accidentally hooked a car. I lost 300 yards of line before it snapped.

So I decided that maybe I’m using the wrong bait.

Then I read that we are supposed to be the salt of the earth, so I hooked a big salt lick to my Offshore Angler Ocean Master Casting Reel and Rod. When I cast, the salt lick hit two cars parked behind me and when the salt lick came flying forward, it took my rod with it and smashed into three ladies eating lunch at an outside café a block away.

I feel so discouraged in my faith right now. How will I ever be a true Fisher of Men?

Bless your heart, cranky, you have to use nets. Put some hoop nets into the public pool. They swim in, but can't swim out.

It is legal to use them for "non-game fish" here. Men are certainly not game fish.

Be careful that you only net men. If you catch any women or children you'll have to throw them back.

The right kind of bait is key too - as well as the right type of lure... It's an artform really...

Y'all are cracking me up!

So I read about faith and moving mountains the other day... I went outside and pushed as hard as I could on the hill in my backyard, but it wouldn't move. Then I got attacked by a rabid squirrel and was forced to move closer to the house. So I'm like, "well, duh! God gives us telekenetic powers!" So I focused on that hill for hours, but again, it wouldn't move and I ended up with a killer headache.

So am I really saved or is God just testing my patience???

In this case, faith works best in cooperation with a Volvo L120E.

If the first shall be last, and the last shall be first, is it best to be somewhere in the middle so that you don't have to move around as much?

Well ya started talkin about moving mountains, then you said you tried to move a hill! Why start so small? Jesus didn't say anything about moving hills!
