We just had a potluck lunch, except they forgot to tell some, so I was one who didn't take anything. We had plenty though, a salad and a wonderful Guatemalan recipe with rice. One of our colleagues is from Guatemala and is a great cook!

O my, sorry to have been so long responding!
You're welcome, Trish.
For Thanksgiving, we went to see Leonard's mom and brother.
Our son is coming for Christmas! It's the first Christmas we'll have had with him since 1999! He could never get long enough time off work to make the journey and get back again before the holiday was over. It's an 800-mile journey by road.

Hi, Trish & Mike! Yes, we were excited, looking forward to our son coming! And we're so thrilled to have him here! My Christmas season is going well, got gifts done early, late with most cards, but all finished just in time. Have got started on tomorrow's dinner preparations as well.

Well, our son has been with us since 20th and he left today. We had a great time with him. He brought two of his old friends home a few times (people he knew in HS) and we enjoyed having them too. It was great to serve them meals, or just let them hang, and see them so relaxed and happy.
My daughter, sil and family sent me a key chain with a 60 digital picture holder, so though I didn't see them I have their pictures. We are going to see them all in two weeks as we go up north for a two missions events. This will be our last major activity as part of our mission HQ staff. We will still be missionaries with them, but not working at HQ. Big changes ahead. We hope to move to Texas in April. So please pray we can get our house totally ready and that it will sell. With the housing market as it is, and our not being very skillful on painting, repairs, etc., we are believing God for miracles, and if He could send us some help from skilled people that would be a bonus.

Well, that threw me for a minute mentioning April, and I see that April caught on to the same thing! Yes, April (month) is close. I don't know if we will be ready for that, but God's timing will be right.
We have not been able to find a place for my mom. She can live by herself but needs help with some things, and doesn't feel able to stay here. At the same time she is not able to make decisions well and doesn't seem to be able to decide whether to come with us or go back to her hometown. I just don't have any answers.
Where is that basket, April? I need those skills you have stashed in there.
The house prep. is going so slowly. The person who was going to do some work for us at a cheap price--hasn't been answering our calls, and neither has the realtor had any success with him. So we are looking for someone else.
We got a supplement to mission support only while working at HQ, so that will disappear after Jan. 31 and we will be "on our own," but not without God of course! So pray He will come to our aid in that respect!
Well, that's where we are, three major "obstacles" but only to us, not to God. So we would appreciate your prayers!
I am on http:/forums.singingnews.com. I came across it when looking for something else and was surprised to see it is our own forums. Guess Singingnews is part of Salem Web Network!
