Hello Joy[sm=wave.gif][sm=thumbsup.gif]

Hisjoy -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/3/2006 10:24:03 AM)

Trish, Nicole, Dena, Brendalee, Slushie, Trishy, and Summy,
Will you all get to the wedding, Trish? Hope you're doing better.
Thanks, Nicole. In the same week I find this little kitty, some missionary friends with Wycliffe sent their prayer letter and the quote in my siggy was included in it! Now is that appropriate, or what?
Dena, I don't expect we'll see you for a while, with that big family gathering! Wow! Have a wonderful time y'all!
Good to know you're doing better and planning to do some gardening, Brendalee! I don't do much gardening but I love gardens and there is a sense of God's presence there. As it says in Romans, the invisible things of God are evidenced by what He has made.
Summy, welcome on your first visit! Come back soon!

Here is some more of "the story." We left off after my telling God I needed to know if He had a husband for me or not, and that He would have to get me over it if He didn't. Then there appeared a verse. "I will make king over you whom I will make king...." in the passage I mentioned. I said, "Well, God, that looks hopeful. Let me tell you some more." So I explained to Him all the spiritual attributes I wanted in a husband. I mean, He needed to know, didn't He? Good, He was still listening. "Well while you're still listening," I said, "I want a man who is studious, a serious person, a man with black hair and who is not too tall because I want to be able to look into his eyes." [from where I'm at, a dinky 5'2"[:D]]. Well, that's enough for now.[:)]

Hi Joy, I just found this thread and just thought that I would say hi! [:)]

cherish405 -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/3/2006 11:51:47 AM)

I'm not going to the wedding, Joy. I wasn't invited. John and Joan are hopeful of getting there. Joan keeps telling herself that it's only for an hour. They were invited to the reception too, but with her knees acting up, she decided weeks ago that they would just go to the church to see them get married.

Aloha Joy! How was your Saturday sweetie? Did I ever tell you that you bring much Joy to the forums? [:)]

Hisjoy -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/4/2006 12:57:03 AM)

Hi Mike, Trish & John!
Well, that will be great if they get to the Wedding itself. They will probably already have been there hours ago now.
We were out from 10:30 to 3:30 getting all our monthly supplies. I had to replace my summer shoes, an event that occurs every several years. I'm thankful my shoes last so long; it makes me think of the children of Israel who wore theirs 40 years. Years ago when I had platform shoes I decided I'd had enough of style. Since then it's comfort alone and it works for me. What say you?[:)]

magdaleine -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/4/2006 1:04:34 AM)

Comfort and comfort alone is what counts. Well, I try to wear comfortable BLACK shoes when I'm wearing black and comfortable WHITE shoes with white.

dawgfan42 -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/4/2006 4:26:48 AM)

Hi Joy. How is your weekend going?

vagrant -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/4/2006 8:47:11 AM)

Hi Joy! Today I am going up to Medford with mom after church.

Mrs.Above_All -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/4/2006 3:04:20 PM)

Hi Dena!! Looong time girl! I gotta come visit you on your thread soon.

Happy Sunday Joy ((((Joy)))). Have a most blessed day sweetie. [:)]

Hisjoy -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/4/2006 6:58:03 PM)

Hi, Maggie, John, Dena, and Trishy!
Black with black and white with white. Hmm, not bad. Well I've just got brown and tan, yes, I actually got two pair, so they will have to go with everything.[:D]
Yesterday (Sat.) you can see above. The rest of the day I was whacked.[:D]
Today was a regular day except we went looking for a church for a memorial service and didn't ever find it. We were driving about an hour. It's 99 degrees and I am whacked again.[:D]
I hope you have some cooler driving weather, Dena! If you left on time, you might well be there in Medford now!
Yep, it's blessed, thanks Trishy, and trust yours is, too. In fact all of you have a blessed day!
Weekends are going to be different from now on. One of the changes in our mission (mentioned in post 45) is that all missionary staff at HQ have to be up and out on weekends in different churches, starting next week. The office will be closed Fri.-Mon. to give us time to prepare presentations, make phone calls, and other stuff, all at home, and to allow travel time. Tues.-Wed. will be at the office. Please pray that God will give us all wisdom, strength, love and grace. It should be an interesting time over the next few months!

magdaleine -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/4/2006 7:06:29 PM)

Wow, Joy! That sounds like it could be a demanding schedule to keep to. I'm not sure I'd want to be in a different church each week.

cherish405 -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/4/2006 10:12:35 PM)

Wow, does sound like you're going to be busy, Joy!

vagrant -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/5/2006 12:00:39 PM)

Hi, Joy! I am up in Medford now. I went to Curves this morning with my mom, and it was fun. I got to talk to a lady that used to run some kind of care home, so we had lots to talk about.

Hi, Trishy!

Brenda-lee -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/5/2006 12:26:06 PM)

Morning Joy! I pray you had a blessed weekend........

Ah yes, gardening was interesting- by 9am it was nearly 90 degrees[&:] I think I sweated everythought clean outa me head[8|] Praise the Lord the planting is done and the dogs only tried to dig up the herbs! Yee Hawww-[:D]

Thank-you for continuing your story - means alot to me. No matter how long it is - Because it is a marvelous thing the Lord has done, and it should be something that is talked about.......shared, inspiring others to trust and believe God. You have first hand experience to the love and faithfulness of God........

Hisjoy -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/5/2006 4:36:44 PM)

Hi, Maggie, Trish, Dena and Brendalee!
Yep busy. [:)] I like change and I'm looking forward to this different weekend thing. We will go to our regular church occasionally to keep some stability. Pray that the Lord will send us to contact the right churches who want to get inspired in missions.[:)]
Cool outing, Dena! You would have enjoyed talking with that lady!
It's been in the 90s here, too, Brendalee.You're a brave one to do gardening.

I wondered whether to continue with the story, so I will since Brendalee (who initiated the idea) mentioned it. Tell me if you want it to stop, and I'll stop![:)]

We'd just got to where I'd told God everything about the person I wanted. It's all a very selfish story so far, except that I really wanted to get on with ministry without distractions. I believed that if God hadn't got someone for me, He would somehow get me over it, and if He had, then I could just rest assured and wait by His grace. Let me backtrack. Before I became a Christian at 23, getting married was very important to me and still was after I came to Christ. During my teenage years I began to pray "O God, my husband, whoever and wherever he is, bless him," the same prayer over several years as I didn't know much, if anything, about prayer. I didn't think about not getting married, though sometimes I was kinda scared that "I wouldn't find anyone"--in the language of an unsaved teen--because I didn't have good social skills. So then when I got saved, I was even more scared because that cut down the "choice"! When I went into missions, I was even more scared again because the "choice" was even smaller!

OK, later!

dawgfan42 -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/5/2006 4:39:56 PM)

HI Joy!!! Happy Monday to you!!![:)]

Hisjoy -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/5/2006 5:02:29 PM)

Hi, John, Monday is going great! How 'bout yours, everyone?

dawgfan42 -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/5/2006 5:35:47 PM)

It is "still" hot here. We set a record by one degree yesterday -old record 111-yesterday 112. Aside from that.. Everything is going good.

cherish405 -> RE: HisJoy's Hogan (6/5/2006 9:30:48 PM)

Thanks for sharing, Joy.

Hi, Summy, Be assured that God is with you now, will guide you and knows everything that is happening. Be sure to pray, to read your Bible every day and to hear from Him. He is listening to and speaking to you and is always at work on your behalf. He says, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5.) I'll be praying with you, and I'm sure others who see your post will be praying, too. (((((Summy)))))

Thanks Joy. Thanks a gazillion.
