Sounds awesome, Joy.

We don't use those outline forms very much, but I wish they did.

I think my pastor is too disorganized to follow an outline, nevermind giving US one.

Interesting to see your different responses, Slushie, Trish & Maggie! We are going to our own church this week. We don't often get outlines there, but I wish we did!

Some of our pastors are better at following sermon outlines/notes than others.

This month, we've been having missions sharing instead of sermons. It's cool.... because this month is Missions month and we've been hearing a lot from people in our church who've been on short term missions.

Our senior pastor's back...... he had cancer so he was away being treated. I missed him.... we all did. I'm glad he's back.

He is. He hasn't changed at all. i mean, in personality and in looks. I thought that was a bit funny. But yeah... he's had a hard road to walk on.... his cancer kept on recurring... but i hope it's truly over now.

speaking of sermons, we had an interesting one this past Sunday. We've had a guest speaker since Thursday doing a series of meetings. Sunday morning he asked the pastor and a young woman to help him. The young woman held a box of donuts and the pastor went to someone at random and asked her if she wanted a donut. No, she didn't. Well, she was getting one anyway and the guest speaker would do 10 pushups to pay for it. Pastor went to another person. Did he want a donut? Sure! Okay, the guest speaker will do 10 pushups to pay for it. He gave everyone in the congregation a donut and for every donut, wanted or unwanted, the guest speaker did 10 pushups. Good thing we're a small church. Still, the guy did 490 pushups.

Then he sat down and, gasping for breath, read three short passages about what Jesus did for us. He followed that by a story of a teen he'd been up much of the night with, answering questions about Jesus. The boy gave his life to Christ. Two days later the boy was dead. (He was killed by the tiger he was feeding at a local "cat" farm.)

After the story the guest speaker made an altar call for those who wanted to give their lives to Christ. That was it. Church was over. But I'm thinking that for many it must have been very powerful.

Hi, Trish, Slushie, and Maggie! I'm praising God with you for your pastor's health, Slushie. Good to read about the missions sharing. My husband will be sharing on missions at a church in SoCal Sunday! Seems like I read about a similar donut demo in an email and I wasn't sure that it could really happen. Now I read about your church, Maggie, and I know that one is real.

Hi, Trish! Thanks, it was great at the SoCal service. This morning we met Sheila (Specky). Do you know her? It was a surprise to meet Myckey (Spelling?) as well who had also come to see her! Sheila was visiting her friend, also Sheila, in AZ and they came up to SoCal to see the sights.

I'm so jealous of CrossWalk people meeting each other.

~uhhhh~ Now that I think about it, it's probably just as well. If anyone really 'saw' me, NO ONE would ever say nice things about me again.

Hi to all you beautiful people!

Why wouldn't we say nice things about you if we saw you?

{{{{{{{{{{{{April}}}}}}}}}}}}

I don't really know you, April, but I can't imagine that people would have a hard time finding nice things to say about you. And it's FUN to meet CWers. What state do you live in?

Joy, what fun to meet up with Sheila and Diane!

Thanks for the barbwire hugs, Magdaleine!

I think it's probably the best for people to just have a picture in their heads when they think of me. I'm so beautiful and young and my body is so slim and athletic, it's not good to have to be so outstanding in my field.

*OH NO! I laughed so hard at that paragraph that I spilled my coffee all over myself. Computer laughing, can be very dangerous.

Barbed wire? those are my elbows!

Most of us have too much weight, April. It comes from sitting in front of our computers so much.

Believe me, I'm no thin beauty, April. I just love everybody around here, no matter what they look like.

You know, that's why I like Internet friendships, such as we have here in CW. We get to know a person for who they are before we know what they look like. So we're not selecting friendships based on appearance and I like that. And when I meet someone from here who doesn't look at all as I imagined (and I've met 2 or 3 dozen CWers) it doesn't matter because I know what their beauty is inside.

Yes, the true beauty is inside! All four I've met are beautiful people and I thought so before I met them. So far I've seen Dena, Sheila, Diane and Covan Meshuga. Mike was only 200 miles from here but only for a weekend so we didn't get to see him. Maggie, it was neat to hear that you have met Diane and Sheila!

I haven't met Diane yet. We ALMOST met. I had a trip planned and the ticket in my hand to visit my cousin not far from Diane (all expenses paid). The week I was to fly there, my cousin's son was in a serious traffic accident that left him a quadraplegic. They weren't sure if he would live or die. My trip was cancelled and I didn't get to meet Diane. But one day!

That's really sad, Maggie.

Joy, what church are you and your dh going to this weekend?

Sorry to hear that, Maggie.

We went to our church this weekend. Next week we will be in Nevada visiting Leonard's mom and brother. Then we'll go to church and come on home from there. It's about a 6-hr. drive.
