_Cinderella_ -> RE: Catherine and Christine's Conversation Corner of CW (10/2/2008 5:51:21 AM)

Tis been a while since I posted in here. Sunday was a busy day. In the morning we went to dog day at a water park. We also went last year. Princess loves to fetch things we throw into the water. Ami just runs around and avoids getting wet. We stayed until Princess wore down some of her nails enough to be bloody... same thing that happened last year. She is just not used to running around on concrete. Then we went to a concert in California with two friends. Christina was bridesmaid #3 at my wedding, and she is now engaged to a man named Jeremiah. I have only met Jeremiah once before at the wedding we went to in May. It was good to get to know him better... he is a good guy. We ate dinner at Panera Bread. Yay! I also bought a cinnamon crunch bagel to have for breakfast the next day. Christina had never been to Panera before and she said it was good. Jeremiah said when he lived in Kansas he used to go there once a week for lunch. Matt is used to getting drug to Panera whenever we go to California. [8|] We got lost after getting off the freeway. The Google map I printed said to turn right. We turned right and we were driving through corn fields and stuff. Jeremiah is from Kansas and he said it looked just like home. So eventually we turned around and went left past the freeway and we found the place. Whose idea was it to build a major concert venue in the middle of nowhere? The concert was at the amphitheater in Marysville, CA. I didn't know that the definition of amphitheater was an outdoor place. When we got there it was ever so hot. Everyone was fanning themselves and wiping sweat off their head. Yuck. Then by the end of the night I was cold. Yah... maybe I will not go there again unless it is someone I love. The concert was Jars of Clay, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Switchfoot, and Third Day. I bought the tickets because I wanted to see Third Day. We missed 2/3 of Jars of Clay because of turning the wrong way off the freeway. Their set was only 30 minutes. Next was Robert Randolph. I had never even heard of him. It was AWFUL. His songs literally consisted of the same line being sung over and over and over again for about six minutes a song. Oy. I could not believe that these people were supposed to be good enough to get to play after Jars of Clay. Then was Switchfoot. I don't know most of their songs so their set was pretty boring to me. They saved singing "Dare You to Move" until the last song, which was the only song I really knew. Then last was Third Day! Yay! I knew most every song they sang and it was great. At one point the lead signer said, "Usually I have a clock on the monitor telling me how long I have left, but tonight it's not there. The stage manager is signaling me now... it looks like he is saying 2 hours and 50 minutes." So the crowd cheers. Then he said, "Well, you are cheering now, but after 2 hours and 49 minutes you are going to be like, 'I like Third Day, but its time to get home now.'" I thought that was funny. One blah part of the concert was that both Switchfoot and Third Day both brought Robert Randolph back out to sing a song with them. Come on! He is not that good! I was very happy with my decision to bring ear plugs. I cannot imagine what my ears would have felt like after four hours of concert without them. I saw other people around me wearing them too.
