Did you know that the Women Only folder has a 2008 Wedding Thread? Maybe they could help you.

Thanks. I didn't want to join something already existing. But maybe I will. Still thinking about it.

One new person just joined the wedding thread today, so I don't think they will mind.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, Tuesday I took back my foster kittens. Grumpy was especially grumpy when I took her out of the cardboard carrier and put her on the scale.
Tuesday I was quite tired since I missed two hours of sleep for the kittens.
Last night I went to bed before 2 AM (which is early for being me), and still today I am tired. After I got off the appraisal place I drove to a sandwich shop. I sat in the parking lot there and wished I could just stay in the car and take a nap. No such luck.
Might go get some more foster kittens on Friday, though I admit it is nice to only have one species of animal to currently care for.
I have no idea what happened to Ami last night. We woke up in the middle of the night to some sound we had never heard before. Ami was freaking out and knocked over both her food and water bowls and then continued to freak out some more. When Matt opened up the crate so she could go outside and get her out of the mess she wouldn't leave the crate. So weird. Maybe she had some kind of nightmare or something.
I wish I didn't have to work at the call center anymore. I will be glad when my last day comes... whenever that might be.
It's not that they would mind, I just didn't want to for me.
How is Ami now?
I think Ami is fine now. I don't know what went wrong with her last night.
My eye(s?) is still not good. I think my left eye wants to be infected now... I'll see how it is tomorrow.
I'll just jump in here on the Amazing Grace as I am getting ready for work....
Christine, Amazing Grace...how sweet the sound and content, in my opinion would be perfect there because it is your husband's favorite hymn of all time and will have a deeper meaning to you both as a couple.
It is YOUR's and JOSH's "signature" on YOUR wedding. It's appropriate whether it be on the beach, in a church, under a gazebo in the back yard. It fits "there" in that part of the ceremony because it sounds like you and Josh first thought of it for there.
Just my 8 cents LOL!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bummer on the sty business still Catherine!!

Thanks Sharon. We'll put it there then.

Catherine --- I hope your eye settles down soon. Eye problems are the worst.

Time to get your eyes seen to again, Catherine?

I hope you find out what unsettled Ami. I hope she's ok.

Thanks for the date, Christine!

quote:

Well, the plane tickets I booked are for Dallas, and if worse comes to worse at least Dallas is an interesting place we can visit for four days.

I laughed loudly at that! I hope it all works out, Catherine.

quote:

We're toying with having his step-mom sing Amazing Grace (she has a LOVELY voice), but I'm not sure it's the most appropriate song for that part of the ceremony. Amazing Grace, however, is Josh's favorite hymn of all time.

I think it's a very appropriate song for the occassion because without grace no marriage can succeed. You each need grace for the other and you both need God's grace. The song is a song of praise about God and what he's done for us all. Praising God seems to me to be a great thing to do at a wedding.

Really? I didn't mean for that to be funny.

I am not sure what to think about my eye(s). I suppose I should just resolve to not wear contacts until October. :(

I survived my four days of call center this week. Next week they are slashing a lot of people's hours, but none of mine got cut. When I saw the announcement for part-time people to check their schedules, I was secretly hoping they cut some of mine. Owell.

Sunday they are having the "2008 World Tour of Gymnastics Superstars" in town featuring people who were in the Olympics. The cheapest tickets are $29.50, but of course you have to sit way far away for that amount. I am considering going and have been watching Craigslist to see if I can find better seats / cheaper tickets. Matt said he won't go so I have to go alone. :(

here are some of my latest happenings:

Friday:

Spent four hours working at the appraisal place. There wasn't too much work work to do, but I did some stuff like clean out my pending basket and started updating one of the spreadsheets I used to do.

Matt's parents called us to say they were not going to Bill Cosby since Matt's mom was/is not feeling well, but that we could still have the tickets. So we called and invited one of Matt's friends to go with us.

I don't think anything else important happened that day.

Saturday:

- went and got Ami her shots at a low cost shot clinic. the people who work there are nice so this is our third time going (twice for Ami and once for Princess)

- went to Whole Foods. saw someone from the call center there

- went to Matt's dad office to pick up the Bill Cosby tickets. Since we were already there I had Matt's dad take a look at my eyes, and he said it looks like the stye has mostly resolved itself. He also did a prescription check since I feel like I cannot see well anymore. My right eye went up two notches and my left eye went up one notch. I just had a new stronger prescription done in January. At this rate my eyes are never going to be stable enough for lasic surgery. :(

- before Bill Cosby we had dinner at the casino. I had prime rib and Matt had a cheeseburger. Was decent.

- got to the Bill Cosby show. We invited Matt's friend Dave, and Dave brought his friend ???. Right as the show was about to start, ???'s friend who was working at the show seating people spotted him. So ???'s friend upgraded our tickets and we moved from the far back left to the 8th row center! That was pretty cool.
Bill was alright, but to me the dialog was too slow.

- after the show we had dessert. Matt had suicide pie and I had a mini strawberry pie thing

- spent a bunch of time before and after Bill Cosby watching the Olympics we recorded. I feel like we are going to be watching those forever. Yesterday we watched the Aussie woman win the triathalon, and it was cool to see how happy she was about her win.

Cool that you saw Bill Cosby!

I'm wondering about the eyes too if you just had another correction back in January. Does Matt's dad seem concerned about it?

I just saw a news piece about how things are down in Las Vegas and the home forclosures are way up in all of Nevada. I hope I remembered that right.

Some really great offers to tourists for Vegas though. A couple of people that have been there several times said they are getting all kinds of good offers.

Have you heard anymore from Douglas? I need to remember to pray for him each day.
(((((Douglas)))))

Matt's dad didn't seem concerned about it. I asked him if it would be beneficial for me to go back to the astigmatism contacts... that is what my former eye doctor put me in the first time I had contacts. He said that was a good question, and that my eyes did show slightly more astigmatism than last time. So he gave me two different brands with the astigmatism correction to try out. I don't remember my prescription declining this much this fast in the past, so maybe these contacts can slow it down again.

Yes, Nevada does have lots of foreclosures. Right now foreclosure appraisals are about all my appraisal bosses do. There are also lots of short sales with people trying to prevent their houses from going into foreclosue.

I did hear from Douglas again today. Here is what he has to say this week:

THis week has gone well, classes are quite easy and im scoreing very high thankfully.

tommorow, monday, im going to finishing up my essay and takeing another post test for writeing/reading, i already passed my post test for math and science, so if the ones that i still need to pass go well i think tuesday i get too take my Pre-Ged. if that goes well, also then Friday and saturday i will take my actuall GeD. the monday/tuesday after that they will tell me if i Passed or not, and then, that like wednsday or thursday i will be sent too [Oklahoma] from here i think is what happens.

so, yeah, next sunday hopefully ill let you know if i got too take the Ged this week or not, if they dont let me take my ged this week then i will Definetly take it next week as its sort of a time limit thing, and its not like im even dumb or anything, i did score highenough too take the Ged Pre test already but for some reason the captain was on like, a vacation, and he set the standard too 450, and i got a 440, but before he left he was supposed too take it down too 400, so i should have been 40 points into the clear. Waste of my time, if you ask me but its okay. in the army all you have is time, wearing a watch is pointless and what not. if you need to be somewhere they let you know.

I do hope he makes it to Oklahoma next week because that should (hopefully) make our plane tickets work out. If not than that probably means his graduation will be the day after Thanksgiving... yah... I bet the call center will fire me for calling in sick that day...

Sunday:

Went to the 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Superstars!! It was great!!!

I decided to not buy a ticket until I got to the venue to avoid paying the $11 online convenience fee. The ticket line was moving really slowly, and I was worried about getting in on time. I made it just fine though, as they started five minutes late. The seat I got was just fine without buying in advance. I am glad though that I got the second cheapest seats, because the first cheapest seats were forever away.

First up was some Disney Channel boy band. When they got to their second song I decided that they were probably going to sing another few songs, so I went to the snack bar and bought a pretzel and a soda. They had the music for all the Disney stars cranked up so high that I was glad I had something with me I could use as an earplug.

The gymnastics were so cool. Every routine had its own song to go with it. Sometimes they would bring out one person or sometimes multiple people or sometimes all the people. They brought the balance beam, high bar, uneven bars, balance beam, rings, and pommel horse for the gymnasts to do routines with. They did stuff not in the Olympics like dances with cloths and streamers and big hoops.

They had the four members silver woman's team, the six members of the bronze men's team, Paul and Morgan Hamm were there even though they didn't get to perform in the Olympics, they brought a few other girls, and there was a woman who won gold in the 1996 Olympics.

This location was filmed for national TV, and it will be on September 26 (not sure what network). At the end of the show they said that they needed to refilm one of the segments, so they asked people to stick around. Well, lots of people didn't want to so they got up and left. Since there were lots of empty seats at the bottom, I got up and went and sat in the third row!

I am so glad I got to go. To me the gymnastics show was 10x better than Bill Cosby. I left the show feeling inspired and happy and wishing I was young enough to get into gymnastics.

So... if you like gymnastics and the show is coming to a city near you, I encourage you to go!

That's cool Catherine. Glad you got to go experience that.

I bet if you could find some sort of adult gymnastic class you'd get into the best shape of your life.

THAT is terrific Catherine!! If at all possible, don't allow it to build up again. It becomes such a vicious cycle!

Have a great day.

I am heading out to get the permanent crown put on my tooth. Whooo Hoooo!!

Yep, that is the plan. We actually haven't used the credit card to pay for anything this year with the exception of vacation stuff.

Wow, Catherine! Congratulations! Way to go--both on getting the debt down so low AND on not using your card at all this year except for your vacation. I'm impressed.
