Is it just me? Perhaps I'm too synical or perhaps I've watched too many cliff hangers to get all caught up in the end of the season.

Gibbs isn't going anywhere. The last scene was a dead giveaway. He's walking up to some guy drinking a beer and working on a car. The first two episodes next year will be that guy giving him a bunch of advice about life and what he should do and he'll go back to work.

Mark Harmon is the star of the show and just like "8 simple rules", you really can't have an effective show without the star. It's only been done a couple of times that I recall and those are just rare cases.

I really don't think that guy is going to give him advice to go back. Didn't you watch the whole show. That guy drinking the beer was Gibbs' old NCIS boss, who ALSO quit, for pretty much the same reason that Gibbs quit. Because the "higher-ups" in the government wouldn't listen to him and a bunch of people got killed due to terrorism.
And now he lives in Mexico....looked to me like the last scene was Gibbs joining his old pal in Mexico to retire.

I thought that the Gibbs ending was one of the best of the TV shows. It sure came as a surprise ! Abby adds a good sense of humor to the show.

I watched it last night and realised that I really don't like Tony.

Which episode did you see last night Aga? Do the episodes you see coincide with ours or are they behind?

Oh behind for sure ~ still on series 1

Umm... let's see, what happened...

Someone died?

Some guy died and they found emeralds in him. So they all head out to Cuba to find out what's going on and discover that some relative of bin laden is there...

I missed the first year, so I need to see if it is on DVD so I can rent it and catch up.

yeah, it is like the Brit show over here, they are finished and off the air over there before they ever get going over here.

I think Gibbs will return. that was a copy cat scene from Shawshank Redemption.

every is getting shot or is dying in the season enders. Bleh! well, except Boston Legal.

I noticed that a lot of people on my shows are leaving! L&O CI the captain left; L&O, the asst DA left; Boston Legal, the blondie left (you know she is going to marry Michael J Fox); NCIS, Gibbs
I didn't see the ending for the Unit, so I don't know about that show, and even on Numb3rs, Almeda might leave (but how could she leave Charlie?)

I love NCIS because of Gibbs, he is the show. Everyone else just circles around him.

I was crying right there with Abbs.

I didn't get to watch the whole show, I was working around the house and had to finish before dark.

Has anyone noticed a really wierd dynamic between Abby and Gibbs?

I LOVE THAT SHOW!!!

I love it, too. :) I think the Abby/Gibbs dynamic is more daughter/father. But that's just how I've always seen it.

So, do we know if Gibbs is leaving or not?

I saw the rerun of when Tony got the plague the other night. Craziness! That wouldn't happen in real life!

I absolutely love NCIS! It would not be the same without Gibbs so I hope he returns.

My family and I have watched it since it was introduced on Jag, too. We love it!

All the spoilers I've seen have him coming back, but not a "full" team member again for a few eps? Some preview shots have Mark Harmon with some facial hair...should be interesting...

and yes, the SWAK episode was pure craziness...but done very well!

I should be counting down the days until the premeire

So what's the POINT? The show won't do well if he leaves. The rest of the team is great, but it just won't work. It would be like CSI: without Grissom.

Um...I did see a spoiler somewhere that Grissom is going on a hiatus for 2-3 eps ...

Gibbs will be back. Someone has to be there to bop Tony on the back of the head.

I would rather Tony left than Gibbs...

I think the show would really lose something if Abby left though...
