Yep, we noticed that, too. We often have to record it, and it's a shocker to start fast forwarding past the credits only to have to back up because the commercials didn't start right away!

One of the dead giveaways to me on that is that the black & white "photo" at the very beginning of the show doesn't show up right before the opening credits, meaning they'll probably go into the story after the credits. I love that B&W photo treatment!

And yeah, I agree about the lack of reason for Gibbs backing straight into the water.

I love it how Abby was the only one to figure it out on her own (Gibbs' connection to the girl). She's such a fun character. And I actually like the director more this season. (Which isn't saying much...I loathed her last season.)

nah, so far I still don't like her

at least we haven't been subjected to some sort of supposed sexual tension. I never felt it with the two of them, it just seemed so contrived.

maybe that's what I like. There's less of her onscreen, so I can tolerate it. hehe

I always thought Abby and Gibbs had a father/daughter type of relationship.

I think the best part of last night's episode was at the very beginning when DiNozzo yanked the phone out of Ziva's hand and proceeded to yell into it about being her husband and coming after them for harassment, etc. NCIS humor at its best.

Yeah, that part was funny. "That was my 87 year old aunt in Israel!"

I felt bad for (1) Probie (whose name escapes me at the moment - how sad) and his girl troubles, and (2) really bad for the wife who waited 7 years to be reunited with her husband, only to discover that he thought she was dead so he'd remarried.

Yes, I almost sniffled at the end.

I'm blaming the Singulair.

Oh yeah...I can't imagine what Seda (sp?) felt when she realized her hubby had moved on...but what was he to do, ya know? He thought she was dead. What a horrible thing to do to someone...tell them their whole family was killed.

Yeah, poor McGee. Such a nice guy to get messed around with. I'm still plugging for him and Abbey. Did you notice her comment? "I love you and that should be enough." AWW

Man, talk about a twist at the end of this episode. Whoda thunk it woulda been a bad cop all along?

If you ask me, the kid was too unnatural at acting. He seemed too easy and confident for someone so young. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I noticed that he didn't talk like a kid. He talked like a script. (I can't remember the exact wording, but when Gibbs was questioning him the first time, the conversation went something like:
Kid: He [his dad] is outdoors a lot.
Gibbs: Camping?
Kid: Survivalist. He's an instructor - has his own business.

A real kid wouldn't answer Gibbs' question with more info like that. It'd be more like, "Not really. It's more than that. He's a survivalist and teaches others how to survive, too."

It's subtle, but yeah, the kid didn't seem realistic to me.

As for this episode (last night), I wondered if the Marine had been injecting himself. He failed medically the first time; if he wanted into the Marines so badly, he could very well have done steroids. It's interesting that he was good enough to cover it up with the masking agents, though.

Does anyone know if we're seeing reruns (this week and I see next week is, too) because of the writers' strike?

Thanks for the link, Kath. Boo hoo...

That's one good thing about reality shows - no writers!

Was anybody else expecting a new episode last night? Last week, I saw previews for a new episode last night, but when it came on, I saw "Armand Assante" listed as a guest-star, which tipped me off that it was a rerun. It was the episode when DiNozzo meets Jeanne's father. Ticks me off, getting my hopes up like that and then dashing them like china hit with a baseball bat.

YES. They had previews for a new one, but when it came on, it was the rerun! How disappointing!

However, The Unit was new.

Yeah, I was upset it was a rerun as well.

At least it was one of their better episodes.
