I'll post part 3 later today...for now, I ran across this at home formula for cleaning your computer screen, and thought I should share it here. It looks pretty interesting!

Andrew and I finally stepped into the reception location. It was wonderful! Once again I was overwhelmed by all the smiling faces of friends and family, and their joy in celebrating our wedding with us. Everywhere I looked I saw friends, and Gina had done a fantastic job with the decorating.

So much happened at the reception that I'm not going to try to share it in the order it happened, I'll simply share the moments as I recall them :)

After we entered the auditorium where our reception was held, we proceeded to our seats at the head table. The lattice screen I'd rented was behind the head table and was decorated with tulle, garlands of roses, lights, and a crocheted red heart. It was magical :) It was also wonderful to be able to sit.

While I'd been standing at the front of the church for the ceremony I'd been shifting back and forth from foot to foot, hopefully not very noticably. I'd also been looking around at everything during the ceremony, at Andrew's parents, at the people who joined us, and at Andrew during the important parts :P

I was glad to have a few minutes to sit and catch my breath and rest my feet. Gina had us go through the buffet line first, then the guests had their turn. The food turned out well. The sandwiches from Sam's Club looked very elegant, the potato salad was delicious, the veggie trays were appealing, and the cocktail smokies in barbeque sauce were tasty. I had a small amount to eat, but before long I was out of my chair and I began visiting everyone to say hello to them.

One of my coworkers (Raj) is from India, and on my request she wore a lovely pantsuit from India, in a gorgeous sky blue, very flowing and elegant. Andrew said that one of the moments he recalls from the reception is when Raj and I hugged and then began telling each other how good the other looked..."You look good.", "No, you look good.", "No, YOU look good." :P Then we laughed and hugged.

I think I managed to stop at each table to say hello to all our guests and to thank them for coming, and it was a very fun time, filled with laughter and good wishes.

We had a couple of musicians playing during the reception - a violinist and a cellist. They played a blend of celtic and classical tunes with a few contemporary pieces thrown in. The music was wonderful, lilting above the crowd and adding the perfect finishing touch to the gaiety of the day.

The cherry on top of the reception was the clown I'd hired to entertain the children with balloon tying. Her name was Gigglz, and she not only entertained the children but the adults as well. A few of the adults had balloon headdresses and corsages, along with kids who had swords, flowers, helmets, animals and more. I even ended up with a balloon flower wrist corsage :D

About halfway through the reception it was time for our toast, and Andrew's brother Peter toasted us. The sparkling apple cider was delicious! Then it was time for the cake-cutting.

The father of one of my coworkers baked and decorated the cake, and he did a wonderful job. He placed the two lambs I'd purchased online as the cake topper, and the cake was decorated with fresh flowers as Andrew preferred. It was gorgeous and colorful, and the arch over the cake table was beautiful.

It was all so incredibly wonderful that day. The auditorium was bright and colorful, and more importantly it was filled with so many people I can count as friends, old and new...or better yet, blessings from God.

The reception finally wound down, and Andrew and I finally left for OUR home after lingering a bit while things were being cleaned up.

As we were loading the gifts into my car, a man drove by and yelled 'Congratulations' to us as he passed.

I am so blessed. There's no other way to say it. I'm blessed with a man who loves me despite my many shortcomings, who has committed to stay with me for the rest of the time given to us by God, and I'm blessed with a wonderful new family. Andrew's parents, brother and sister-in-law and other relatives have all been kind, warm and welcoming, making me feel an immediate part of their family. I didn't know what to expect, but I never expected that immediate acceptance.

I've also been blessed with family who love and care about me, and who are happy that God brought a man who loves me into my life.

The last blessing is Restoration Life. How can I list all the wonderful people without running out of time? I can't, there are just too many of them :P

I do want to single out Pastor Dan. Restoration Life came into being as a result of his desire to reach out to the heart of Sacramento and to follow the vision God laid on his heart, and this church is a testament to his obedience.

God led Andrew and me to this church, and through that we've gained some amazing friends and have found the place where God has us serving.

I am blessed. Truly, completely, wonderfully blessed.

Hi Kimberly! I've been so behind in all my subscriptions so I've just read the last 6 or 7 weeks of your thread. I loved reading all about the wedding and plan to look at the photos that were linked to--haven't had a chance yet (Catherine, do you have my e-mail address? Can you send the photos you have?). It sounds like the whole day was simply wonderful. Too bad Marcia had to ruin your return home from the honeymoon.

Hi Ryan!!! It's a good thing God won't call you to be a wife. I can guarantee that

Hi Maggie :) The wedding day was wonderful! Andrew is a very good man, and I'm thankful that he's so kind and patient.

We're going to be getting the photo CDs from our professional photographer this morning - we're meeting him at 10am at Mimi's Cafe, one of my favorite restaurants.

Last weekend was a very crammed and enjoyable weekend for me. Andrew's mom invited me to her church's women's retreat, and paid for the airline ticket and the retreat.

I was up at 330am on Saturday, picked up by a shuttle at 430am and at the airport by 515 for a 645 flight. I do get nervous a bit about flying, but did quite well. I arrived at the Ontario airport in southern california and took the hotel's shuttle to the hotel.

It was nice spending time with Margie and my new sister-in-law, Anna. The church that Margie attends is a chinese one, and portions of the retreat had the women split into two groups - the Mandarin/Cantonese group and the English group. I'm pretty sure that the three of us were the only non-Asians in attendance, but I never once felt awkward or unwelcome.

I flew back on Sunday afternoon. The retreat was over at noon, and my flight left at 345, so as you can imagine I had a lot of time to spend at the airport.

Last night our church had their combined Good Friday service with other area churches. This is a cached google page, but it gives you an idea of what we did.

Marcia has been a source of frustration for me, as has been obvious from my posts. Time away from her has been good for me. Mostly I feel compassion for her, I can't imagine how difficult it is to be so depressed and to dislike oneself so much. then there are the times when I do get irritated again, usually during/after a phone call.

Please keep her in prayer...she's in bondage to the lies of her past and the lies of the defeated one (thanks, Shar-Mar :) ) and isn't availing herself of the freedom in Christ that is at her disposal. Easier said than done, I know, but it does still need to be done.

Now I'd better go get cleaned up and ready to leave to meet with our photographer!

Andrew left this morning to participate in this, please pray that he doesn't suffer any injuries due to a lack of practice. Thank you :)

Kimberly, I'm so glad to see you! I was just about to log off and I saw your post in my subbed list.

I will definitely say some prayers for Andrew today during the run / walk.

And I will pray for Marcia as well (and for y'all's relationship also).

And btw, you're welcomed. heehee And more importantly, THANK YOU!

Hi Shar Mar :)

It's good to see you in here :) Andrew's run went well...it was a 5k run and he finished it in around 24 minutes. He's out of practice with running, so I think he did pretty well. He thinks he may have been the third 'over 40' to cross the finish line.

We picked up our photo CD today, and the photos are nice. They're not spectacular, and I'd say we definitely got what we paid for. Our friend from church took better photos, we should have asked him to be our photographer! The photos are nice to have, though. Don't get me wrong :) I've begun touching up the color and lighting of the unfinished copies as well as resizing them to upload, and it should be about a week or so before I begin uploading them.

Thanks for the prayers for Marcia. I know God is working in her life, and it's good to hear her having more good days than bad days over the last month.

Andrew went to a small church's Easter event this evening. They're just down the street (why on earth is the ice cream truck playing Christmas music??????? Deck the halls??????? It's driving me crazy!!!!!!!) from the house and he wanted to attend. I've been dealing with a cough so I stayed home and lounged on the futon in the living room and watched the ultimate recipe challenge on food network. This episode was cakes, and there were some very yummy ones there. I was especially interested in the "Put the Lime in the Coconut Cake" recipe!

It sounds like Andrew is home!!!! Oh, and the cats are in the backyard...I need to check on them.

Hi y'all :)

I don't have much time to post at the moment, bedtime is here, but I uploaded some photos of the beginning of our gardening efforts for this year here:

http://anchoredbygrace.com/myphotos/our-garden-2008/

We're going to build a raised bed in the backyard and I hope to chronicle the progress through photos.

Still working on getting the wedding photos done...I'll try and upload what I've worked on so far in the next day or two.

How is everyone?

Doing well enough, end of semester in less than a month, and more stuff to do in church lately (which is something I don't mind.....).

Oh, and I'll be hiking a portion of the Appalachian Trail as a staffer for our denominational District Youth Hike. Cool, huh?

The hike is mid-July, Shar-Mar, and I'm working a training program that my trainer at the gym came up with for me, (pant, pant), due to see her at the end of next month to see what my progress is like.

Being checked up on does tend to make me work harder........

Hi Darcy :)

The hike sounds like it'll be beautiful :) Very cool! It also sounds like a serious hike with you training for it. I know you'll have a blast. I wish I could go, but I'd need LOTS of training...

church is getting busier for us, too. I don't mind, though. We've been blessed with a wonderful church and friends, and I'm very thankful :)

Hello Shar-Mar :)

Yep, 300 baby mantis! I can't wait to see them and take photos :P

Hello readers :) I hope this finds you doing well!

Still no baby mantises yet, hopefully soon. I've had the egg sac for one week now.

Friday night Andrew and I were up late watching TV and saw news that Linens-n-Things is most likely going to be declaring bankruptcy, so we took all the gift cards we'd received as wedding gifts for Linens-n-Things and spent them all yesterday. We did quite well with our selections :) We have some new storage shelves, a Homedics Brethe air cleaner, I bought a Cooking 101 Panini kit, which has a cast iron grill skillet with a heavy lid (the grill skillet is the one with the ridges on the bottom that make grill marks on the food that you're cooking), and a few other things, including this nifty avocado slicer called a 'flexicado'. Reviews on this are mixed, but it looks like it'll work well on larger avocados.

We spent all our gift cards from Linens-n-things because if they do declare bankruptcy, chances are that they won't honor gift cards and then you're out of luck. Sharper Image stopped accepting gift cards in February when they filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and we didn't want to have that happen with these gift cards.

It's been warm this weekend, right now it's 87 outside, and the forecast for tomorrow is 63. Spring!

We have the box built for our raised bed garden, and we're going to fill it with dirt this week. We have garden soil and steer manure, now we need to buy some topsoil to get a good blend going. We'll be planting tomatoes, squash, beans and strawberries, maybe a couple of other things. We're also going to be planting some flowers in the containers we used for the vegetables last year, so that they'll help attract bees for pollination.

We have a screen house to put up in the backyard, a couple of Adirondack resin loungers, and I may be purchasing a double hammock as well. The back yard is going to be our summer retreat

Did I mention that the tranmission went out on my car on March 30th, on our way back from a wedding in Nevada City? Yep, it died and we had to have the car towed all the way to Sacramento. I was without it for a week, and the good news is that my car is still under the extended powertrain warranty I purchased with the car, so my total cost for the repairs was $100 Woohoo!!!!

I'm going to be attending the women's retreat for my church the first weekend in May, it'll be near Sonora. It's a beautiful part of California!

Next weekend my church will be doing our annual 'Elmhurst Project', which is one of the best things we do! There's a bigger photo of the home we'll be working on at this link.

I hope everyone is doing well, I do try to read other threads in PFY, but I don't have as much free time as before. If you'd like to keep in touch with me, the best way is to post here.

See y'all around!

I don't know if returns will be a problem but it never hurts to take care of it asap. News articles say they'll officially declare chapter 11 bankruptcy this Tuesday.

Hi Mike! I was so thankful we saw that news item. We hardly ever watch TV, much less that late in the evening, so I think it was a God thing :)

I can't believe I edited your post instead of quoting it, Kath It's all fixed now
