If you have any questions about any of the photos, PLEASE don't hesitate to post a comment with the photo in question, and I'll post a reply :) I don't mind, and don't feel like you can't post that many. I don't mind at all :)

Ok, I think I have some time to post a bit...andrew isn't back from the Sunday night prayer meeting yet, and the TV is off, I'm all caught up in forums, so I think I can do it Marcia (Mar-see-ah) seems to be doing better. I don't see much of her these days due to our schedules. She's usually picked up her mail and left by the time that I get home. I don't believe she's found a place to live yet, but I do think it's going well at her sister's house. Her niece and her sister really want her to stay with them, so she does have a welcoming place available. I'll begin sharing a bit about the wedding. The week before was hectic! There was so much to be done, including getting the house in decent shape before Andrew's parents came up for the week. I didn't get everything done that I'd wanted to, but I got enough done that I didn't stress about his parents being inside the house. His mom (Margie) was so very helpful that week. She came by often and helped me organize and get things done, including taking the time to glue all the small flowers onto the bottles of bubbles. Margie and I went out for lunch a couple of times, and also had dinner with Andrew and Brad (Andrew's father, Margie's husband). Brad and Margie are so sweet! I was amazed at their generosity and how welcoming they were. God has definitely blessed me when it comes to in-laws. Moving ahead to the Friday before the wedding, it was a busy day. Andrew's brother and sister-in-law (Peter and Anna) were arriving in Sacramento, and his parents went to pick them up at the airport. They ended up going to lunch and not being able to come help me get the decorations for church loaded up and to church. Brad has to eat regularly and we didn't account for that in the plans. Amazing I managed to fit everything into the PT Cruiser (I should have taken a photo!) I had 3 ficus trees, the trellises to make the gate at the center of the platform, all the artificial plants, and quite a few other things in my car. It was crammed! It was also raining :P I got everything to the church at 3pm, and Gina (my friend and wedding coordinator) arrived about the same time. What I didn't know was that the columns the church secretary had mentioned to me when we first reserved the church weren't like this, which is what I thought they would be, they were like the ones you see in the photos of the platform after we decorated it. I was thrilled when I saw what the columns looked like! They were perfect! Gina and I got the car unloaded and began getting everything set up on the platform. Andrew's mom and sister-in-law arrived around 4pm and began helping with decorating the pews. We had a wonderful time, and it was somewhere in there that I let go of all the stress and pressure of wanting to be sure everything looked just right and came together. It was great! Let me tell you, a good wedding coordinator is worth her weight in gold!!!!!!! My family finally arrived at the church, and my sister and I hopped into my car to go to a nearby grocery store to buy some snacks for the little ones. We had a fun time together :) The rehearsal was a total blast, and afterwards we all went to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Folsom for dinner, and had an absolutely wonderful time. I gave the kids and my bridesmaids their gifts, and they all loved them :) I also ran into some old friends from my former church, Capital Christian Center. Pam and her husband Eldon. The really neat thing is that Pam is the roommate who moved out of this house and I moved in, taking over her room, way back over 15 years ago. She told us that her wedding rehearsal dinner was at the same place as ours! It was such a blessed Friday :) I wasn't once nervous, and I slept well (after I got home, of course!). I woke up Saturday and it was a wonderful day. The rain had stopped, it was only partly cloudy, and I had nothing to do before the wedding other than pick up some bagels at Panera Bread for everyone who was helping decorate at the reception site, drop off the lattice screen there, go get my hair and make up done, then get to church, get dressed, relax, and get married :P I'll share more later :D

I bought them a simple Y necklace and earring set, silver-toned with a small heart with some black stones. It was casual enough that it matched their dresses, and they can wear them again with regular clothing. This is what I bought for the flower girls, along with some simple small pearl stud earrings. The boys were happy with an action figure and a spiderman puzzle for each of them :)

Kimmie, I love those photos of the sunsets. I'm a sucker for sunsets. I was asking in the book section about historical fiction. I've read almost all of Janette Oke's books, and am looking for something very similar to her style in that genre. Bill said to ask you. Any suggestions? I've tried reading some of Deeanne Gist's books and don't like them anywhere near as much. She's too graphic in some areas. I've also read some other books from some other authors, but keep thinking I'd rather be reading Janette Oke's books.

Trish, have you tried anything by Kristine Heitzmann(sp?)? Mary and my mother both enjoy her books. And I know of another series, about the Amish people, that is rather popular, although any titles and the authors name escapes me. A good place for you to check out historical fiction would be at christianbooks.com (no link)- they have a huge fiction section, and have it broken up by categories as you browse their site. Just go to their home page and begin cruising around to see what you find. Enjoy! Duane

I've got one by Beverly Lewis. "The Redemption Of Sarah Cain", I think. There's nothing wrong with the Amish stories, but for now, I'm just trying to find something other than that particular style. Maybe later.

Laura, I had a suspicion that the top you were wearing at my wedding was the one you wore for your wedding - it's a beautiful top! As far as posting photos, most everyone at my church is used to having photos posted on the internet by way of various church functions. Bill, I think you'd have had a blast with the boys and their spiderman puzzles! Trish, I'm not sure about authors similar to Janette Oke...I'll need to send an email to my mom - she loves her books, but I'm just not that into them. I'll see what I can find out from her. I just did a quick google search for 'Christian pioneer romance' and someone who likes Janette Oke also likes June Masters Bacher. I also found out that Larry Norman died :( the next post will have more about the day of the wedding.

The wedding day was a gorgeous day. I woke up with anticipation, knowing that it was going to be a beautiful day. The church looked gorgeous, and I knew my friend Gina would have the reception under control and that it would be springlike and enchanting :) All I had to do that morning was go to Panera Bread and pick up a dozen assorted bagels for those who were decorating the reception location (those were a surprise from me) and drop off the lattice screen with them. I put on some comfortable sweats, put the dress and veil in the car, the headpiece in my purse and hopped into the car :) (Did I mention that I love my PT Cruiser? I do!) The morning sky was filled with big puffy clouds and bits of blue sky were peeking through. I'd prayed and asked God for a day without rain, but just in case it did rain I had my pink and brown plaid rubber boots on, and was planning to wear them with my wedding dress when we left the church to go to the reception location. :D It was a refreshing drive to Panera Bread, and I snagged an asiago cheese bagel out of the bagel container ;) I figured I deserved it, being the bride and all :P I got to the reception location around 930 and dropped off the lattice screen and the bagels with Gina. Andrew was there, so I asked him to get the lattice screen out of my car, said hello to Julie, one of the city employees who's often at the community center for our church services (we had the reception at the same community center), took a quick look at everything that was in process, and then headed off to the salon where my friend Malea works. As a wedding gift, Malea had colored and highlighted my hair, waxed my eyebrows (I thought that would really hurt, but it didn't!) and now she was going to curl my hair and do my makeup for the wedding. Oh, yeah...I also had 2 tubs of beautiful pink tulips to drop off that were going to be at the foot of the arch where the musicians would be sitting. The Thursday before the wedding Margie and I went to the salon where Malea works so we could go to the nearby Riteaid to buy some makeup and then have Malea do my hair and put on the makeup for a trial run. We were all set for Saturday morning :) I made it to the salon a bit after 10am and my photographer was already there, ready to take photos. It was a fun time that morning. Elmer (the photographer) took lots of photos while Malea curled my hair and did my makeup and chatted with me. Once he went outside to take photos of us through the window and Malea came up with the idea of sticking our tongues out at him when he took the photo, so we did that :P We had so much fun, and then it was time for me to head to the church with my 'wedding hair'. As I drove to the church using surface streets, I was enjoying the fresh air and making sure not to crush the curls at the end of my hair between my back and the seat. It really was a beautiful morning :) I really love the area of Sacramento where we had the wedding and reception. Lots of old homes, trees, parks, small stores...it's very pretty, and on this particular morning it was even more so. And to make things even better, the sun was shining and there was quite a bit of blue sky! I was enjoying everything, and then as I was waiting at an intersection to make a turn, a car turned onto the street in front of me. I looked at the license plate, and it was personalized. When I saw what it said, I began to laugh! It was perfect :) It said, "TWUE WUV" It wasn't long before I arrived at the church, parking immediately out front so that it would be quick and easy for us when we left to go to the reception. I took everything inside and went to the reading room just outside the sanctuary. After setting my things down in there I took a moment to look at the sanctuary, and it was still beautiful :) Andrew's parents were there already, and Margie looked lovely in her dress. I went back into the room to change into the dress, and my mom and stepdad arrived soon after that. Good timing, because I needed my mom to zip the dress for me. The time between arriving at the church and the start of the ceremony was nice :) It wasn't long after my mom and stepdad were there that my sister and her kids arrived, followed by the rest of my family with kids in the wedding party. They came into the reading room with me and we had a fun time getting the girls dressed and putting on their jewelry. The boys wore black pants and white dress shirts, and the bow ties and suspenders were adorable on them. The night before at the rehearsal the boys practiced walking down the aisle and standing in their places on the platform. We had them carry the ring pillows and finally had to take them away from them as they were having pillow fights! LOL While we were practicing lighting the unity candle and standing in our places on the platform, the boys ended up laying on the stairs out of boredom. It was really cute! I think our photographer got photos of that as he was there at the rehearsal as well. Once Andrew arrived at the church I had to keep the door of the reading room closed. It wasn't because of the superstition of not seeing the bride before the wedding - I'd already seen him at the reception location. It was because I didn't want him to see me in the dress until I walked down the aisle. I loved my dress and wanted to surprise him. I wanted his first look at the dress to be that moment when the door opened and I began walking down the aisle. It was finally time for the ceremony to start, and Gina had everyone leave the reading room except for me, and then she sent my father in. He was going to walk me down the aisle, but hadn't been there the night before so my stepdad had a chance to walk me down the aisle 3 times at the rehearsal :) We waited until Gina called us out, and then the big moment came! The doors opened, and the wedding march began.

I stood on the threshold with my father for a moment, and looked at all the friends and family with which God has blessed me, and I was amazed. The sanctuary was full of people, and 2 years ago that wouldn't have happened. But God has been good, and He led me and Andrew to our church, Restoration Life, and blessed us with a wonderfully amazing church family. It was an awesome moment of realization that touched me in a way that was deeper than any I can recall. We began walking down the aisle, towards Andrew and our Pastor. I was filled with joy and couldn't stop smiling. Thankfully we didn't have to do that weird step-stop-step walk because I don't think I would have remembered to do it. We got to the end of the aisle, and my father placed my hand in Andrew's hand. I'm so glad I found a version of the wedding march that was strings and horns, no organs. It was light, delicate and fit the theme of spring. It was beautiful :) What a joyous occasion the ceremony was for me...getting married to Andrew and having our Pastor officiate :D I felt completely blessed by friends, family old and new, and God. Pastor Dan shared a wonderful homily about the significance of marriage, the symbolism of it, and how special it is for Christians. Brad and Margie (Andrew's parents) read 1 Corinthians 13, alternating verses. Then came our vows...Andrew's vows were wonderful. He didn't have them written down, he'd simply been thinking of them for a week and pondering what he wanted to say, and when the time came, he spoke clearly and audibly from his heart. I cheated with my vows...I found some in a book by H. Norman Wright titled, 'Christian Wedding Vows' (or something like that) and modified them just a smidgeon. Dan didn't know that, though, and he told everyone that we'd both written our vows and hadn't taken them from a book. I stifled a giggle at that point :P Dan said my vows a short sentence at a time, and I repeated the sentences after him. Even though I took them from a book, I meant every word, deep from my heart. The exchange of rings had a humorous moment...we have 2 rings for Andrew. The original ring is very difficult to get over his knuckle, so we bought a simple inexpensive silver one from eBay just a half size larger that was easier to slide over his knuckle. Guess what? I forgot to bring that ring, and when it came time to put the ring on his finger, I couldn't get it over the knuckle, so per Dan's instructions at the rehearsal, I didn't try to get it over his knuckle. But Andrew worked at it while we were holding hands and listening to Dan, and he finally got it on :) After our vows came the unity candle, and I love the song I chose for that part of the ceremony - All of Heaven by Third Day. The music is beautiful, Mac Powell's voice is haunting, and the words were perfect. We took that time to talk to each other, then Dan came and prayed with us, then we prayed with each other. Finally came the moment we'd been waiting for...Dan announced us as Mr. and Mrs. Andrew and Kimberly frog, and we proceeded to walk down the aisle to the applause and cheers of our friends and family :) After some hugs and greetings, people began making their way to the reception, and we had some photos of the wedding party and family taken. When I walked back into the sanctuary, I saw the sunlight streaming through the stained glass cross, like a benediction from God on our marriage. It was beautiful. I hope the photos do it justice. Andrew and I went to my car to leave for the reception. Oh, did I mention that Andrew looked dashing in his tux? He did!!! VERY handsome indeed! Pastor Dan and his wife hadn't left for the reception yet, and were able to take a picture of us next to my car. I'm looking forward to seeing it :) Andrew was going to drive my car. There was no way I'd have been able to fit into the driver's seat with the dress. It wasn't a huge skirt, but it had a chapel length train and there was a lot of fabric to wrap around my legs so it would all fit into the car. While the day was sunny, it was also breezy, and as I got into the car the breeze blew my veil out of my hair, but I was able to catch it. The drive to the reception site was interesting...Andrew was following his friend Glen, and we wove in a zig-zag pattern through midtown. We arrived at the community center, but Gina wasn't quite ready to announce us at the reception yet so we sat in my car and chatted for about 10 minutes. Finally she called me on my cell phone and told us to come and wait in the foyer of the community center, so we walked there and stood inside, waiting for a few straggling members of the wedding party to show up. I was so anxious to get inside and see how it looked that I was bouncing up and down on my tiptoes. Oh, yeah...at the church I'd changed out of the pretty white high heel shoes I'd worn for the ceremony into some comfy sandals, so bouncing on my tiptoes was easy. What I realized after I'd finished bouncing on my tippytoes was that the videographer had caught that on tape :P At last Gina began annoucing the wedding party :)
