You can live forever and not own a house, cars come and go. I do understand being tired, though, especially when work is hit-or-miss. Hang in their gal and keep praying. The kids are watching you and they are what you have to "show for it". I do hope that things improve because one day the kids will be gone, and then you and your beloved will have to be able to enjoy each other. No easy fixes.

I agree with Car2ner - we're not here to be rich like some Americans, but to be shaped into the image of Jesus. God uses hard times to do this (Romans 8: 28,29, James 1, 1 Peter 1) so rejoice that God loves you and treats you like a son. The end is great! Your children are the masterwork of your life, and they are watching you. Start reading your Bible every day and talk to God and ask Him what He wants you to know and do ("being" is always before "doing" - we are His children first and doers of His Word second). Teach the Bible to your children; there are lots of Bible studies for kids and you can find some online I bet. The Apostle Paul said: I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13 So go show your children that they are rich in your love and God's grace in giving them salvation and shaping their lives to be like Him. This life is short, and you will be rich in heaven to be with Jesus!

Car2ner and deermousie are right, dear sister. But don't do it for the children! They can see through a mask if you are trying to put on a brave face for them. Lay these concerns at the feet of Jesus and He will be gentle with you and give you rest and peace! Pray for your husband and children and He will be faithful to spark in you that deep, fulfilling love that you are missing. Love that lasts is not a feeling, it is a choice. You have seen that by now. Heal you marriage and your children will see what it takes to solve problems rather than run from them. As for the financial considerations, dear one, I know where you are coming from. My DH recently sprung some realities on me that nearly rocked my entire world when I thought we were fine! It's okay, though. God will provide if you ask Him and trust in Him. Above all things, God loves you and is faithful. Sometimes though, He changes what we consider to be doing "well." I am wealthy beyond what most people in the world could even imagine, but I get frustrated because my car is 15 years old and I won't have new clothes this fall. The important thing is that my priority is on Jesus-- the rest is just temporary and will all pass away. I hope you will try this... keep a journal by your bed. Each night write down five things you are thankful for in your life. I think you will be surprised at how your feelings transform, sister.
