"I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten."

EXPLORATION "Living A Transformed Life in 2011"
"If we in our human life take our surrender to God seriously, if God enters us as the strength of light, of the tree, as the elemental energy which alone makes new life possible - then, we shall be able to live the new life."
"Rejuvenate" - To restore. To stop erosive activity.
"But those who look for and hope in Him (God) shall change and renew their strength and power. They shall lift their wings and mount up to the sun; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired."
Isaiah 40: 31
"Life is filled with meaning as soon as Jesus Christ enters into it."
The other night I couldn't sleep so decided to get up and turn on the television hoping something very boring would put me back to sleep.
As I changed channels I came upon a show promising women that if they used a certain set of creams, they could take years off their faces. A few channels over, another well-known star was selling a weight loss program that would, according to the claim, take pounds off in just days, and then a few channels later I really hit the jackpot. Some guy was claiming the products he was selling were the "fountain of youth." A rejuvenating formula that would make you look and feel younger in weeks. Oh, one more thing he promised, you would be filled with energy! He sounded so convincing I nearly succumbed to his sales pitch, that is until I saw the price he wanted for his miracle vitamins.
I believe it is safe to say that all of us find the "lure" of "new life" very appealing. Whether it's turning back the clock as the years slip by so quickly or if it's getting back our youthful energy level - we all want to feel that surge of new life.
Guess what? At the beginning of the New Year, when the hustle and bustle of life can sap us of strength and stamina, leaving us weary and worn to a frazzle, I have fabulous news for you today! New life - rejuvenating, regenerating new life - is yours and mine. And to add to this news, I have even something better to share - it's free, a gift to us from Heaven's hallowed throne.
When we accept the gift of Christ's redeeming love, we accept His name. And we don't just get a name like a label stuck on us. We're given a name and everything that comes with the name. The disciple John, one of Jesus' beloved followers, at the very beginning of the book of John tells us "In (Jesus) was life; and the life was the light of men" (John 1: 4 K.J.V.). So if you want that rejuvenating glow that is the light of the world, this New Year say, "Yes," to Jesus and accept as His gift the new life He offers each of us.
Several years ago, when my husband and I were hit by a drunk driver, the paramedics who arrived at the scene of the accident had to quickly assess our medical conditions. Realizing we were both bleeding severely, the emergency teams extracted my husband from the twisted wreckage first because the door on the driver's side of the car had been blown off by the impact. But it took nearly an hour to cut away the mangled pieces of metal that pinned me under the dashboard of the car. By the time I arrived at the emergency room, I had lost nearly 60% of my blood. While I don't remember much about the events, I do recall feeling that my life was slipping away.
Several months later, I found out that it took over 2 hours, as the physicians' notes recorded, to "resuscitate" me. I was infused with vital blood and fluid products to replace what I had lost. This had to happen first, before any of the over 35 broken bones I sustained could be repaired. I needed desperately to be given an infusion of life, and for me blood was what revived me.
I pray you will think hard as the New Year begins about what you need to rejuvenate and revive you in the coming year.
If we accept the gift of redemption, we will be infused by the life of Jesus. And as the apostle Paul told his friends at the church in Corinth: "Therefore if any person is engrafted in Christ, the Messiah, (she) is a new creature altogether: the old has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!" (II Corinthians 5: 17, Amplified Bible).
WOW! What a way to start a New Year. Fresh. Rejuvenated. Filled with life! While it cost God the life of His dear Son to give us this opportunity at New Life, the cost to you and me is zero! It is God's gift to us. All we have to do is say, "Yes," and "Thank You!"
"I am happy because you have accepted me dear Lord. Sometimes I do not know what to do with all my happiness. I swim in Your grace like a whale in the ocean. The saying goes: ‘An ocean never dries up.' But we know that Your grace also never fails. Dear Lord,
Your grace is our happiness. Hallelujah!"
AFFIRMATION "Although I am dust and ashes, Lord, I am tied to You by bonds of love. Therefore I feel I can speak freely to You. Before I came to know You, I was nothing. I did not know the meaning of life, and I had no understanding of myself. I have no doubt that You had a purpose in causing me to be born; yet You had no need of me, and on my own I was of no use to You. But then You decided that I should hear the words of Your Son, Jesus Christ. And that as I heard His words, You enable His love to penetrate my heart. Now I am completely saturated in His love and faith."
