You’ve Got the Power, The New Victorious You

Café Menufor Thursday, January 28, 2016

Today’s Special is:  The New Victorious You

Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Stephanie Shott

Main Ingredient:

And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Colossians 2:10 NKJV

Entrée:

For far too many years, I lived my life in a House of Mirrors.

You know the kind you find at the fair?  You walk in and find yourself surrounded by yourself.  Everywhere you turn all you see is your own reflection, but the mirrors project a very distorted view of who you are.

For me, all I could see was a broken, fearful, and insecure little girl.

Perhaps you’ve been living in a House of Mirrors too.  Maybe you’ve been looking at a very distorted view of who you really are and you’ve been believing what you see instead of trusting what God’s Word says about who you are in Christ.

Oh sweet friend, please hear my heart… if you are in Christ, you are broken no more!  God doesn’t just use broken people, He fixes them.  He makes them complete.

I may have been broken by experience, but I was healed by identity.

And so were you, dear one!  So were you!

Scars, fears, and insecurities.  We all have them.  Mine were deeply etched on my soul from the time I was three years old.  Such a young age to lose your innocence - but if it had only ended there.

A decade of abuse has a way of leaving scars on a little girl’s heart that not only threaten to define who she would become but also hold her captive to the helpless, broken child she once was.

When women talk to me about being broken, I understand.  Broken is who I was.

But when Jesus saved me, He changed all that.

Not long after I became a Christian I began an amazing adventure in the Word of God and discovered that Jesus not only gives us a new heart and a new life, but He also gives us a new identity.

Brokenness no longer defines those who belong to Him.  Fear and insecurity no longer have the power to haunt our hearts.

And every time we say we are broken, we put shackles on our hearts and hold ourselves captive to who we were instead of walking in who we are now.

We have the power to live in victory because we are in Christ.

Your identity in Christ gives you power over your scars-power over your doubts, fears and insecurities.  The same power that raised Jesus from the dead now lives in you and you are complete in Him.

You’ve got the power because you have Jesus!  And it doesn’t get any better than that!

Take Out:

Catherine of Sienna once said,

Be all God created you to be and you will set the world on fire.

But it’s hard to be all we were created to be when we don’t understand who we are in Christ.  We can’t set the world on fire if we can’t get past our past or if we allow our fears and insecurities to derail our God-given destinies.

Here are 42 identity verses that will help you discover who you really are.  Just click this link to get your free downloadable PDF “Broken No More”and discover what God’s Word says about who you are in Christ.

Go ahead.  Get to know yourself.  And then go set the world on fire!

Dessert:

Dear Heavenly Father, Your Word says that because of Christ, I am a new creation, that I have all things that pertain to life and godliness, that I am more than a conqueror, complete in Christ and that Jesus died not only to give me eternal life but also an abundant life.

Help me learn to walk in who I already am, to become who Jesus created me to be, and to experience the victory that is mine because of the cross.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
