Today’s Special is: Jehovah Nissi The Lord is My Banner

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Entrée:
I love the fanfare of the opening ceremony of the Olympics. The music, dancing and national costumes always add to the grandeur, but the part that moves me is at the end when each team comes in under the flag of their home nation. I begin to dream of the day spoken about in Revelation when every tribe and tongue gathers around the throne of Jesus. I usually don’t like large gathering of people, but I just can’t wait to be part of that crowd!
Until that day, Jesus is our banner, and His indwelling Holy Spirit reassures us that we will never be alone. God’s banner is a symbol of His presence. In the days of princesses and knights in shining armor, a flag would be flown over the castle when the king was in residence. It was a sign to all the surrounding citizens that their king was at home.
Today, I am my King’s castle, the dwelling place of His Spirit. His banner over me is proof of His presence.

What should that look like?
The fruits of His Spirit listed in the Scripture above are the evidence to others of His Presence in my life. They put His banner on display so that He gets the glory.
Today I encourage you to reveal the fruits of His Spirit today so that He might be seen!
Dessert:
Lord, Your banner over us is Jesus. As He makes us righteous and creates fruitfulness, His banner displays His presence. We thank You that we are never alone and that you are always with us. We pray that Your Presence would shine and bring You great glory. Amen.
