My Patience-grateful for new mercies

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him."

Lamentations 3: 22-24

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your unfailing love towards me. Thank you for being patient with me in my sin, my doubt and my weariness. I’m grateful that your love and patience is not dependent on anything I do, but on what you’ve done. Please continue to show your grace and mercy towards me as I continue to strive…as I continue to take two steps forward and one step back…as I struggle towards Godliness.

I’m often frustrated and discouraged because I know I do not quite measure up.

But my hope is in you.

Help me to be patient with myself

Help me to be patient in my circumstances

And….

Help me to be patient with my daughter(s)

I have major influence in her life, and it scares me sometimes to think how my actions, attitudes, and behavior will influence her understanding of your love and your compassion. Grow me up. Teach me through trial and error, through victory and defeat to be long-suffering. Make my life a testimony to your patience.

I pray that as I grow in patience, there would be overflow onto my daughter. That she would learn to be patient with her siblings, patient in her friendships, patient in her school-work and patient in her growth. Allow her to be present and enjoy each phase of life that You allow her to experience. As she develops, help her to understand your love and your sovereignty and teach her the beauty of resting in you.

I am in Yours. She is Yours. We trust You.
