Just Stand

Originally published Tuesday, 10 February 2015.

Some days we are tired, beaten down, insecure, and ready to run. Survival mode takes aim and stepping back from circumstances brings clarity and comfort. We whisper the one Name we know brings healing. Jesus.

Sometimes His Name is just a thought in my head before it becomes a trembling on my lips. The whisper softly spoken comes next. And then life rises up.

There is power in the Name above all Names. When you whisper His Name the interpretation is hope. He makes ALL things new. He changes the old shaken dust into a divine wholeness of heart. Yet, even with all His power, we sometimes only have enough strength to stand. But we stand.

And when sadness wraps us up, to stand through it is a miracle. Survival is a miracle. Slowly one step at a time we march into something new. Something wonderful and unexpected waits right around the bend. Unexpected pain seems to propel us in a different direction. In that unexpected place lies healing and hope.

If today you only have the strength to stand, then just stand. Allow His Name to do the rest. Recognize that standing in the middle of hurt is a gift. Life is a gift. Look for the good inside the bad. Soon enough you will forge ahead. However, for today, just stand.

Psalm 20:7-9

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the Name of the Lord our God. 8 They have bowed down and fallen; but we have risen and stand upright. 9 Save, Lord!
May the King answer us when we call.

Love,

Jennifer
