Disclaimer: This post has a very different tone than many that I write. It may come across “preachy,” but I could not remain silent on this topic. Something needs to dramatically shift in our presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ here in America or we will never see the change that we desire regarding revival and awakening. If our eyes refuse to be opened to this hard truth, many professing Christians will go to hell straight from the pews and the pulpit!
Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons… (1 Tim 4:1 ESV)
We are living in these days that Paul is describing here in 1 Timothy 4. The doctrine of demons that is leading so many astray is not preached in Satanic temples, but in churches all across the world, especially in America.
Many will turn away from true faith in God because they are not being presented with the true gospel and have started believing lies.
How can one who has received salvation run into the arms of another man who is not her husband and start a family with him instead?
How can a believer in Jesus Christ suddenly believe God really made a mistake and created him to be a woman instead?
How can a Blood-bought child of God find peace within her soul at the bottom of a bottle every Friday night and not sense an ounce of conviction on Sunday morning?
The cheap answer is that they are all human- we all make mistakes, right? But we aren’t talking about a mishap, slip up, or moral failure; we are talking about a blatant choice to turn away from the ways of God and follow their own selfish way. Leaving the way of faith whether they know they have or not.
But many will claim that they still have faith in God. Your faith is dead, I say! Your works are of the Devil and therefore your paycheck is in the amount of spiritual death and perhaps your life on earth if you continue to walk in them!
Oh beloved one, do not be deceived!
You must choose today whom you will serve! Is it Jesus Christ, the One whom you believe has saved you from your sins, or the Devil, the one who’s lies you have been listening to- telling you that you can have your cake and eat it too?!
Filling it with more and more of the world every day. If you love Jesus, you will keep His commandments and walk in His ways.
The wide gate often looks beautiful and offers you the lie of freedom, but destruction and bondage is at the end.
If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. (Matthew 10:39 NLT)
Open our eyes, Lord! Wake us up from the lies of the enemy that has lulled us into a comfortable spiritual slumber! give us a hunger for your word so that we can know the truth and spot a lie when we hear it, even if it may come from the pulpit on Sunday morning! Gives us wisdom and revelation of the knowledge of who you are how we can truly follow you! Stir the hearts of your saints to begin to intercede on the behalf of the deceived ones who once knew the truth and have been seduced by the pleasures of this world and for the ones who have yet to hear it! Help us to shine brightly as the days ahead get darker. You are our Hope and we trust alone in You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
