What Are You Passionate About?

I think this post is going to be an exciting one to dive into! So I hope you have your printer ready, fingers geared up to screen shot, or your journal nearby to take a few notes, because this one will be thought-provoking and motivating. The whole point is to get you MOVING in God’s direction! So what is it, sis? What are you passionate about?

Think about it for a sec and write it down.

Biblically, God was passionate for us when He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to save us from our sins to give us eternal life. Talk about PASSION! Remember, the #1 Blockbuster hit Passion of the Christ? Anyway, I think (and hope) you’re getting the point.

Now…what gets you going in the morning (besides our Heavenly Father waking you up and the alarm clock - Oh, and maybe the coffee pot)? Do you get up anticipating your next move towards doing God’s will for the day or this season? What do you feel a burden for? Has God shown you your purpose or given you a dream or vision for something? If so, are you working towards laying out the ideas as He gives them to you?

This may seem like a lot of questions, but these are the inquiries that will get you moving forward. Remember my motto, “Nothing happens until you start moving.” So as you lay in bed, put off the important things that need to get done, or brainstorm for months, you won’t see progress or success until you start moving.

Fact is - you can’t move a parked car. You have to get motivated and start moving towards your passion, sis. If God stopped at just the idea of sending Jesus, we would still be lost and spiritually separated from Him forever. Thank God that idea didn’t just sit there dormant. He is indeed a mover and a shaker!

So what are your ideas?

How are you working towards getting things done? What have you done so far? You see, God has the plans already. Our job is to be sensitive to the prompting and leading of the Holy Spirit. He will lead us to do the will of God.

And if you don’t quite know what you’re passionate about or your purpose, I always encourage women to pray about it. I believe God will reveal it in His perfect time. But in the meantime, keep growing closer to Him and stay passionate and on fire for Jesus! Keep shining bright in a dark world and do what you know to do. We all should be doing this part regardless of knowing or not knowing God’s purpose.

Personally, I’m passionate about Jesus and my purpose! And I LOVE Mondays! The reason why is because it kicks off another week to move further in what God has called me to do. I look forward to seeing how He is moving and going to lead me to accomplish His tasks. I call them God-ordained assignments.

Remember, we can do nothing without Jesus as John 15:5 states. So ultimately, we have to make sure that our passion is His passion. And our plans are His plans. Amen!

Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Also, Proverbs 16:9 states, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” In other words, lift up your work to the Lord and He will organize everything for you and order your steps. Don’t try to do anything on your own.

Another thing I want to mention before I close this post is this. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being passionate about something. If you are lit up about something awesome, surround yourself with the Word of God and people who will encourage and motivate you to do what God has called you to do. Also understand that there will unfortunately be those around you who will not believe in what God has predestined you to do. Instead of staying hurt or upset about it, pray for them, and move forward as the Holy Spirit leads you.

As you move forward in faith, I encourage you to enjoy the companionship of those who will love and support you as you accomplish His plans. Remember, everyone will not always be excited about what God is doing in your life (biblical examples: Joseph, Nehemiah, Daniel, etc.) Let’s not forget about Satan, nor the religious Pharisees who were NOT excited about what Jesus was about to do for us on Calvary. He had to press pass the opposition, adversity, ridicule, and pain to accomplish His Father’s will. And so will you.

So again, what are you passionate about? Write it out today and get MOVING! ;-)

Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s be ready from the Inside Out!
