I am interested in seeing who everyone relates with the most in the bible. I relate with Peter most of all I think. I am real quick to jump into things sometimes. I am hungry and eager but sometimes, I don't wait to let God move, I jump in and try to "help God out" :). Like in John 21:7. I relate to how Peter, when He saw that it was Jesus on the shore, He jumped head first into the water and swam to Jesus. The other just took the boat to the shore (which was prob faster, lol) but I tend to be that way sometimes. Also how on the Mount of transfiguration when Jesus was talking and Peter kept interupting and asking questions lol. Also when Peter cut off the guards ears that were coming to get Jesus. I can go on.

I would love to be able to say I relate to any of the Gospel authors, or even more so to Paul. Do I have some of the characteristics they possessed, yes I do. Can I relate to the impulsiveness of Peter, yes I can.

I would say I relate to Hannah. Our struggles for a child is the same. I can only imagine how she felt day in and day out. I read about her all the time even though I know her story. I know her pain. One day soon, I will know her joy as well.

If I go by what others who know me a little say, I'd be "Jeremiah." The weeping prophet. I've been called Moses and a lot of other names. Some not so biblical. lol.

Peter for his rashness. I would love to be any of these women Heb 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. Num 12:10 And the cloud moved from the tabernacle. And behold! Miriam became leprous, as snow. And Aaron looked on Miriam, and behold, she was leprous. Mic 6:4 For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of slaves; and I sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam before you. Mat 9:20 And behold, a woman, who had a flow of blood for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched the hem of His garment. Mat 9:21 For she said within herself, If only I shall touch His robe, I will be whole. Mat 9:22 But turning and seeing her, Jesus said, Daughter, be comforted; your faith has saved you. And the woman was saved from that hour.

I would say David, because I want to have a heart that follows after God to obey Him.

I will have to say that I am really not like any of the Bible people. Kind of sad. I, too, would write Peter, but look how well he came out. I am like early Peter but not later Peter. There are a whole lot of early Peters on here, though, aren't there?

Sometimes I feel like Isaiah. . . always having to deliver undesirable messages to people with deaf ears. . . Of course, I've never stood before a counsel of angels and Adonai. . . maybe someday?

I relate to Moses, God placed him right under the nose, of pharaoh, Moses doubted his ability, to led or talk to the people, Arron, spoke for him. Moses was in his 80's before he was ready to do the job God, created him for. I am not that old LOL but it took me awhile to realize who I was in Christ Jesus. It had to be God's plan, His timing. I am still timid, about things but never about Jesus.

The one that I relate to the most is Jeremiah the prophet. I see much sin in the house of God and it breaks my heart. The Lord wants to give us so much, and we can not recieve it because our sin is in the way. When I see ompromise among the people of God it breaks my heart, because I know the end result of it is always death. Sin according to it's very nature kills. The Lord came that we may have life, and have it abundantly, he provided this life by taking on himself our sin and the results of sin on calvary, which is death. Most of the Church ,however, wants their sin more than they want the Lord of life. This really breaks my heart, and causes me to weep inside. I can relate to Jeremiah

ORIGINAL: techne the leper outside the gates I would be interested to hear why, if it is not too personal? it's not too personal -- 2 kings 7.3-16 now there were four men with leprosy at the entrance of the city gate. they said to each other, "why stay here until we die? if we say, 'we'll go into the city'--the famine is there, and we will die. and if we stay here, we will die. so let's go over to the camp of the arameans and surrender. if they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die." at dusk they got up and went to the camp of the arameans. when they reached the edge of the camp, not a man was there, for the Lord had caused the arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, "look, the king of israel has hired the hittite and egyptian kings to attack us!" so they got up and fled in the dusk and abandoned their tents and their horses and donkeys. they left the camp as it was and ran for their lives. the men who had leprosy reached the edge of the camp and entered one of the tents. they ate and drank, and carried away silver, gold and clothes, and went off and hid them. they returned and entered another tent and took some things from it and hid them also. then they said to each other, "we're not doing right. this is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves. if we wait until daylight, punishment will overtake us. let's go at once and report this to the royal palace." so they went and called out to the city gatekeepers and told them, "we went into the aramean camp and not a man was there--not a sound of anyone--only tethered horses and donkeys, and the tents left just as they were." the gatekeepers shouted the news, and it was reported within the palace. the king got up in the night and said to his officers, "i will tell you what the arameans have done to us. they know we are starving; so they have left the camp to hide in the countryside, thinking, 'they will surely come out, and then we will take them alive and get into the city.'" one of his officers answered, "have some men take five of the horses that are left in the city. their plight will be like that of all the israelites left here--yes, they will only be like all these Israelites who are doomed. so let us send them to find out what happened." so they selected two chariots with their horses, and the king sent them after the aramean army. he commanded the drivers, "go and find out what has happened." they followed them as far as the jordan, and they found the whole road strewn with the clothing and equipment the arameans had thrown away in their headlong flight. so the messengers returned and reported to the king. then the people went out and plundered the camp of the arameans. while i am often "outside" the gates, i know i will plunder the enemy and bring riches into the city...so it's a hope-full thing
